Abstract

The vane arrangement of the mill is coupled to a first magnetic or magnetizable body (1) and the vessel containing the vanes to a second magnetic or magnetizable body (2). The force of attraction between the two is chosen to be greater than the total weight of the vanes and any attachments

Description

Stand der TechnikState of the art

Auflage, Bd. 18, Seite 21/2/).The radiometer effect is said to have been discovered by A. J. FRESNEL in 1825 be. WILLIAM CROOKES later used the effect of continually making one rotating radiometer (light mill). The light mills are physical toys that apparently always met with some interest, so lightmills have been around for a long time be sold commercially. The explanation of the structure and how it works can be found found in many physics textbooks (for example: GRIMSEHL, Textbook of Physics, Drit ter Band, Optik, Leipzig 1952, p. 51/1 /) and even in general educational encyclopedias (For example, BROCKHAUS encyclopedia: in 24 vol. 19th edition, vol. 18, page 21/2 /).

The function of the radiometer is based on the different heating of Surfaces with different optical properties. The on the warmer surface che impinging gas molecules are reflected at greater speed, so that a recoil results. The surfaces are on arrangements, which are often called Wings are called. These wing arrangements are designed so that from the back a torque occurs about an - usually vertical - axis.

For use as a radiometer, it is sufficient to hang the wing arrangement on a torsion thread. The torsion is then a measure of the illuminance. For use as a light mill, on the other hand, storage is required, which enables free rotation. The quality of this bearing affects the speed of rotation of the light mill. Losses in the warehouse are harmful to the function of the light mill. So that tip storage is used with light mills, which has the smallest losses ( Fig. 1a, 1b). The entire wing arrangement is aligned on the smallest possible losses in storage. This means in particular the requirement for a very small weight of the wing arrangement.

The requirement for small weight is a technical limitation that the Design options limited.

Top storage requires special design measures:
the contact surface of the needle tip must be above the center of gravity of the wing arrangement (if there are no other design measures that prevent tipping), the weight acts downwards, therefore a support for the contact surface that runs below the wing arrangement is required,
the wing arrangement must have recesses for the locations which are occupied by the carrier.

These special design measures result in further technical input restrictions. Overall, there are many design options that are just for use are highly desirable as a decorative object. In particular, it would be very complex to produce an object as a wing arrangement, which is mechanically stable, com is complicated and asymmetrical.

Aufgabe der ErfindungObject of the invention

The object of the invention is to provide a light mill, the storage of which previous technical restrictions removed.

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention

The object of the invention is achieved in that
the wing arrangement is connected to a first magnetic or magnetizable body,
a second magnetic or magnetizable body is connected to the vessel of the light mill,
the force of attraction between the first and second magnetic or magnetizable body is set greater than the total weight from the wing arrangement and all parts connected there.

An embodiment is shown in Fig. 2, where the first magnetic or magnetizable body is denoted by 1 and the second magnetic or magnetizable body by 2 .

The following options are possible for the combination of the two bodies:
both bodies are magnetic - attraction with appropriate polarity
one body is magnetic, the other is magnetizable - always attraction
both bodies are magnetizable - attraction when an external magnetic field is applied.

As an exemplary embodiment, a commercially available darning needle is used as the first body used as a second body, a permanent magnet based on ferrite. A is selected Permanent magnet with a magnetic field that pulls the needle with a force of 0.01 N. A thread is attached to the wing arrangement. At the other end, the thread is on the Eyelet attached to the needle. By using a thread, the wing assembly can align themselves according to their focus. Needle, thread and wing arrangement possible together have a mass of 1 g. This results in a weight of 0.00981 N. In the conventional arrangement, the contact surface between the needle and pan loaded with the force identical to the weight. In the embodiment according to the invention the contact surface is only with the difference of attraction and weight, i.e. with 0.00019 N loaded. The conventional arrangement would around the same weight 50 times higher friction losses in the bearing.

Because of the arrangement according to the invention, it is obvious that almost objects of any shape can be "hung". In this respect, manufacturing and Assembly of the light mill is significantly simplified.

The tensile strength of a thin thread is considerably greater than the kink resistance speed. So that the arrangement according to the invention opens up the possibility for the first time design with objects that seem to rotate freely in space. Then when the thread is made so thin that it is practically not he under normal lighting is known.

The difference between the force of attraction and weight is decisive for the resulting force on the contact surface of the needle. With a certain difference, the contact force is completely independent of the mass. That is, arbitrarily heavy wing arrangements can be used. However, the inertia of the arrangement then increases and when it shakes, there is a risk that the bodies will fall apart. Remedy is the arrangement of a waste protection, which limits the maximum distance between the two magnetic or magnetizable body to such a distance that the body can be brought back to attraction. 4 is shown a wire bracket such a dropout fuse in Fig. 4. There limits the maximum distance. In normal operation, the wire bracket does not cause any additional friction, so the fall protection does not affect the function of the light mill. Only the additional weight of the wire bracket must be taken into account.

Beispielsweise dargestellt in Fig 3a. It is not always necessary to additionally arrange the magnetic or magnetizable body 2 . This is because when the vessel is partially made of a magnetic or magnetizable material. For example, shown in Fig. 3 a. There the magnetic or magnetizable body 2 is formed by an already existing metallic cover.

The two magnetic or magnetizable bodies do not have to meet directly at the contact surface. The magnetic field can penetrate non-magnetic or non-magnetizable materials, so that a non-magnetic or non-magnetizable material can be arranged between the two magnetic tables or magnetizable bodies. Advantages arise when a pan is formed from a material that causes the least friction. Such an arrangement is shown in FIG. 3b, where there is a pan made of non-magnetic or non-magnetizable material 3 between the two magnetic or magnetizable bodies. It can also be technologically advantageous to attach the magnet to the outer wall of the vessel - if the vessel wall consists of a non-magnetic or non-magnetic material.
