Abstract

An inverted liquid supply bottle (11) is connected to a ducted system (10) having two upper openings (14, 19). The bottle edge (17) projects into one of them.

Description

In most analyzers in biological, medical and pharmaceutical research working with liquid analytes and sera, automatic or semi-automatic pipetting systems are used. Next the analytes usually also need water and buffer or Regeneration fluids are transported to or from the sensor.

For this purpose there are usually larger storage containers in or next to the devices. These liquids are either pumped or pipetted transported. In all known cases, level controls are inside or outside of the device necessary.

The present invention describes a system for providing larger ones Liquid quantities in automatic pipetting systems with self-regulating Fluid level. The advantage is the almost constant liquid level in the removal container. That is, the pipette tip that holds the liquids picks up only needs to be brought up to a certain, known vertical position so that they can be immersed in and absorbed by the liquids. A Checking the fill level and the associated control of the vertical Position of the pipette tip for liquid absorption, as for example in ordinary cups or bottles is omitted.

The invention achieves these objects with the features of FIGS. 1a to 1c and FIG. 2 and the following description. The following is outlined in the figures.

Abgabesystemen. The invention consists of a pipe or pipe system ( 10 ) closed on both sides with two openings ( 14 , 19 ) on top. An ordinary bottle ( 11 ) with standard screw threads or another locking mechanism is screwed into one opening ( 19 ). The edge of the bottle protrudes a bit (approx. 3-10 mm or more) into the tube ( 17 ). Liquid can be removed through the second opening ( 14 ) by means of the pipette tip or another removal unit ( 15 ). The liquid level ( 16 ) is determined by the height of the edge of the bottle ( 17 ) in the tube. The liquid rises to the edge. If liquid is now removed, the level drops and air can penetrate under the edge of the bottle, causing liquid to flow out of the bottle until the level in the tube has reached the edge of the bottle again. This ensures that the level in the pipe remains almost constant. It should also be noted here that the geometric shape of the removal area has no influence on the functionality of the invention. The waste container ( 12 ) is screwed into the pipe system ( 10 ) from below. The liquid flows into the waste container ( 12 ) via the outlet ( 18 ). The sketch ( Fig. 1c and 2) shows a pipe system with bottles from three independent removal or delivery systems.
