Description
The invention relates to a device for determining the type and position of objects and the type of visibility restriction with a light pulse transmitting device and a light pulse receiving device according to the preamble of the claim.
Verkehrsteilnehmern ändert.A number of methods are known for determining the distance between vehicles or objects. So the distance or the visibility in the fog by various signal processing methods such. B.

DE 43 08 373 C2
DE 30 20 996 C2

DE 41 27 168 C2

described. With all of these methods or their combination, it is not possible to assess the entire optical path of the light rays and to exploit the typical reflection of objects. Even the z. B. specified visibility restrictions are only of limited use. So z. B in DE 195 31 632 A1, the backscattering of the fog particles and the backscattering of slightly reflective targets differ only in that the state of the fog backscattering pulse remains almost constant, while the distance from z. B. Road users changes.
The signal processing for ultrasonic level indicators described in DE 43 08 373 C2 essentially suppresses fixed targets from the fill level specification and correlates the result for plausibility with the filling quantity.
Visibility restrictions and typical features that occur in road traffic road users and obstacles are not mentioned in any of the known documents Detected and distinguished with certainty. The object of the invention is therefore to eliminate these disadvantages.
This object is achieved by the features specified in claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
The present invention is a device for distance measurement and object detection as well as determination of the viewing distance according to the optical pulse transit time method and is to be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 9. With the aid of this invention, it is possible to correctly define visibility restrictions from the shape of the backscattered signal, to identify or differentiate between different objects or road users and to determine their distance from the sensor.
Fig. 1 shows an IR distance sensor 101 consisting of a light pulse transmitter with the optics 102 and a light pulse receiver with optics 103rd The beam path of the two optics ( 102 , 103 ) 104 and 105 will begin to overlap depending on the distance between the transmitter and receiver and the beam geometry in the area 106 .
To protect the sensor 101 against environmental influences, it can be accommodated behind a protective pane 107 (windshield or headlight cover pane). By multiple scattering, this disk generates a backscatter signal 111 in the vicinity of the sensor, although the direct overlap of the beam paths only takes place in the more distant area 106 , 110 representing the time or distance axis and 109 the amplitude axis. If the disk is contaminated by particles 108 , the backscatter increases to the value 112. By evaluating this backscattering, it is possible to deduce the degree of contamination. This makes it possible to evaluate subsequent signals that are dampened by this contamination or to increase the output power of the light pulse transmitter accordingly.
The block diagram of a corresponding device is shown in Fig. 2. A multi-channel pulse generator 203 controls e.g. B. 5 laser diodes 202 to the z. B. each a light pulse of approximately 10 ns half-width and a power of z. B. 50 W via the optics 201 to an angular range of z. B. Deliver 0.6 ° horizontally and 1.8 ° vertically. At the same angular ranges, an arrangement of z. B. 5 receiving diodes 206 mapped via a filter 205 and the optics 204 . The signals of the receiving diodes are fed to a multi-channel amplifier 207 and its output signal to a multiplexer 209 , which forwards them to one or more A / D converters in a time-controlled manner.
The multi-channel pulse generator 203 is controlled via a multiplexer 211 and the time controller 212. The individual subsystems are connected to one another via the wiring 216 . Depending on the required system runtime, digital communication and time control can take place via a bus or with separate lines. All modules to be coordinated in time, such as multiplexers 209 and 211 and A / D converters, are controlled via the microprocessor 215 and via the time control 212. In the microprocessor 215 , the digitized backscatter signals from all receive channels are in a fixed timing of z. B. 50 ms present. The signal acquisition occurs with a direct or equivalent time clock, which corresponds to the desired range resolution, e.g. B. 150 MHz for 1 m resolution.
A memory unit 217 in which typical signal forms are stored is assigned to the microprocessor. In addition, the microprocessor can control the output power of the pulse laser via line 221 and the amplification of the multi-channel amplifier via line 222 .
Die Stromversorgung erfolgt über den Eingang 220.The entire sensor system is connected to the overall system by a unit 218 , which serves for the power supply and as an interface for the input and output data. B. a vehicle longitudinal control, connected via the bus 219 . Power is supplied via input 220 .
The evaluation of the signals in the microprocessor 215 is described in FIG. 3. The entire time range considered on the abscissa 301 and extends depending on the setting of z. B. 0 to 100 m or 0 to 200 m and is divided into several areas, as shown in Fig. 3 in z. B. 4 areas, the areas can be limited in time and or overlap and or can simultaneously represent amplitude areas with or without temporal assignment.
The amplitudes are shown on the ordinate 302 . The disc backscatter is in the time range 310 and is evaluated here. In the time range 320 , depending on the design of the optics, the signals restricting the range of vision due to fog 321 and 322 , spray 323 and snowfall 324 can be expected. Signals to be assigned to all objects, such as 331 and 332 for reflectors and 333, 334 and 335 for weakly reflecting objects, are to be expected in the region 330 . All signals in which the beam strikes the objects per channel are in range 340 , such as. B. embankments ( 341 , 342 ), crash barriers, long sides of buildings, long sides of trucks or backscatter from the road surface to be expected. Of course, the signals in the region 320 or 330 can also be obtained from object signals e.g. B. 325 or 326 may be overlaid. The time ranges shown here are examples; others can also be defined according to the invention, e.g. B. different sampling times as a function of the distance and evaluation schemes that filter out very small signals that occur at large distances.
The evaluation of the signals and their times or the distance position is carried out by comparison in the respective areas with signals described and stored in rules, using a fuzzy logic. These signals have been determined from the backscattering as shown and from the design of the sensor and mechanical assignment of the cover plate and are stored in the memory unit 217 . Since the pulse shape and frequency bandwidth of both the transmit pulse and the signal processing electronics are included in the curve shape, these values of the overall system must be taken into account accordingly.
As an example of the visibility limit in Fig. 4, the signals in a channel at z. B. Fog shown. The time axis is 402 while the amplitude axis is 401 . The signal 403 indicates a non-dirty disc, so that the fog backscatter z. B. have a signal corresponding to 404 at 100 m visibility. If the window is dirty or condensed, signal 403 a results for the window backscattering and signal 404 a for 100 m visibility. The signal of a snow shower can also be recognized in accordance with FIG. 5 and must be distinguished from other signals. The amplitude is shown in 401, while the time axis is again 402. The disc backscatter gives a signal 403 while the backscatter signal of the snow shower in the range 501 to 502 over a time of e.g. B. fluctuates 50 ms and is very noisy due to the snowflakes in the time domain.
Of course, by comparing the signals from several channels according to FIG. 6, the different signals on z. B. In this case, snowfall can be closed. The signals of the five channels are shown in fields 601 to 605 , 611 to 615 represent target signals, 621 to 625 are signals which are caused by snow and can be evaluated individually or together.
In a development of the invention with reference to FIG. 7, the differentiation of different objects with several channels z. B. 5 are shown. To illustrate the differentiation of different objects, the schematic illustration of the different channels 701 to 705 is shown in FIG. 7. The channel 701 is mapped to the slope 706 on the left. In channel 702 there is a car 707 with its reflectors 707a , in channels 703 and 704 is the rear wall of a dirty truck 708, while in channel 705 the slope on the right 709 is shown again. The signals measured at the respective receiver are shown in FIG. 8. 812 represents the time or distance axis, while 801 to 805 show the amplitudes in the different channels. The amplitude in channel 701 ( FIG. 7) is shown in 801 and shows, by way of example, the backscattering on the cover plate of the sensor with 811a uncleaned and 811b in the dirty state. Due to the backscattering over a larger range of the slope, the signal is correspondingly flat and is distributed over a wide range 806 a.
Of course, this signal will drop to a value of 806b if the cover plate is dirty. The decrease is either taken into account accordingly in the comparison or the microprocessor 215 increases the output power accordingly via the control line 221 and / or increases the gain of the multi-channel amplifier 208 via the control line 222 .
The amplitude in channel 702 ( Fig. 7) is shown in 802. Despite the great distance, there is an overdriven signal 807 a, which drops to 807b when the window is dirty. A dirty truck 708 is shown on the channels 703 and 704 ( FIG. 7), which supplies the signals 808 a and 809 a which are reduced to the value 808a and 808b when the pane is dirty. The embankment with the signals 810 a and 810 b is shown in channel 705 ( FIG. 7). The system clearly distinguishes the objects shown here as examples using signal forms. Of course, they also differ in their distance. If one continues to follow the example shown over a period of time, the assignment becomes even clearer. With constant speed of the vehicle carrying the sensor with the channels 701 to 705 as well as constant speed of the truck 708 and constant road shape and curvature 706 and 709 will after z. For example, set the following signals after a time of 1 s: with channel 701 , the signal shape is retained with 806c. The car has a lower speed than the sensor vehicle and therefore the signal 807 c is set in channel 702 . The truck 708 remains the same in position and signal form with 808c and 809c. The straight slope 709 also remains the same with the signal 810 c.
In Fig. 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8, waveforms are in their nature and form or in the memory 217 of the microprocessor 215 stored (Fig. 2) and are compared to the scanned by the system signals. An example of such a comparison is shown in FIG. 9. Fig. 9a shows the signal 907 from a channel. The distance corresponding to the transit time is shown as 0 to 150 m on axis 901 , the amplitude on axis 902 .
The signal with the amplitude values 903 corresponds to a signal of a visual range restriction, while the signals 905 and 906 correspond to objects at a great distance with low reflectivity. The signals are stored in memory 217 ( FIG. 2) in time-dependent amplitude values or in rules for unsharp logic and are stored in different value tables depending on the distance range or signal assignment. The microprocessor now compares using a fuzzy logic (fuzzy logic) and thus determines the likelihood of belonging to the signal groups shown as an example and determines at 903 the range of view and at 904 the two signals 905 and 906 as distant targets. The stored curve for the comparison can consist of a different number of amplitude values over either an equivalent time grid or a time grid that corresponds directly or a multiple of the time grid used for the sampling. A saved rule for a signal that limits visibility, e.g. B. shows fog is shown in Fig. 9b. On the ordinate 910, the divisions z. B. very small 911, small 912, medium 913 and large 914 are shown for the amplitudes, while the time steps are shown on the abscissa 920 . The filled in fields correspond to the conditions of the curve of the visibility range restriction. Fig. 9c shows the example of a backscatter signal of an object. Ordinate 910 and abscissa 911 have the same meaning as in FIG. 9b, the time steps are shorter than in the case of the view range restriction in FIG. 9b. The marked fields correspond to a rule of an object.
B. in Fig. 3 322. Siehe hierzu Fig. 6.Very small signals which only insignificantly protrude from the noise, as in FIG. 9 905, can be recognized and assigned just as easily as signals which override the system, e.g. As in Fig. 3 322. Of course, in further embodiment of the invention may evaluate the signals of the different channels for multi-channel systems for the determination of the lens contamination and the visibility limitation and a common reliable result are determined therefrom. See Fig. 6.
The stored waveform rules can be compared with the acquired signal in the following way: the microprocessor uses known methods to determine all the maxima and compares them with the waveform rules, or the acquired signal is sequenced in the time ranges outlined in FIG. 3 with the waveforms defined there compared to the fuzzy logic. The comparison result is the probability of belonging to the respective rule. The object is classified as the greatest probability of belonging.
The rule sets do not have to relate to the signal curve, but can also Evaluate parameters of the signal curve such as rise, fall time and amplitude.
Of course, objects that can be distinguished by different signals can also be located within several channels can be identified again and thus be followed in the assessment.
In a further development of the invention, the microprocessor with the memory unit 217 can be designed in such a way that not only does it provide signals of the various types with temporal and object-related assignment for comparison with an unsharp logic, but that new rules are automatically defined by the system. This is done according to the invention in that the objects approach and move away while the system is operating in road traffic. Extremely small signals that are not yet recognized by the comparison in the first attempt can be detected and assigned by the "learning effect" created by the automatic definition of signals.
