Auf diese Weise kann mit einfachen Herstellungsprozessen ein hochwertiges Flachpolsterkissen erzeugt werden. Dabei ist der Schaumstoffkern unsichtbar und auch nicht spürbar, da er allseitig von dem mit dem Füllmaterial 5 gefüllten Flachpolsterkissen umgeben ist. Die Weichheit des erfindungsgemäßen Polsterelementes kann durch Veränderung von Raumgewicht und Stauch härte des Schaumstoffkernes sowie durch Veränderung der Füllung in weiten Grenzen variiert werden. Als Füllmaterial können alle handelsüblichen Füllungen verwendet werden. Geeignet sind insbesondere Federn als sogenannte Polsterdaunen.
