Den Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patentes bildet ein Verfahren zum Pressen von Holzabfällen in Form von Schälspänen, wie sie bei der Zellulosefabrikation abfallen, zu Briketts. Die Neuerung besteht darin, daß die Schälspäne auf geeigneten Maschinen längs zerrissen werden. Es genügt nicht, daß sie überhaupt zerkleinert werden, z. B. wie Häcksel geschnitten werden. Es findet dann bei dem Verpressen nicht eine derartige Verfilzung statt, daß die Späne aneinander haften bleiben. Bei dem beschriebenen Verfahren, d. h. wenn man die Späne vorher längs zerreißt, findet eine völlige Verfilzung des Materials statt, und man erzielt vollkommen zusammenhaltende, ja bei genügendem Druck klangharte Briketts, welche im Brennwert fast dem Hartholz nahe kommen und im übrigen sich auch im Ofen ähnlich wie dieses beim Brennen verhalten. Auch bei geringeren Drucken sind die Briketts bereits zusammenhaltend und zürn Verbrennen geeignet, insbesondere kommen solche nicht ganz dicht gepreßten Briketts für die Zellulosefabrikation in Frage. ·The innovation is that the peeling chips are torn lengthways on suitable machines will.
