Abstract
Description
Verfahren zur Verbesserung der Wärmebeständigkeit von Polyesterfasern in Gummimischungen.Process for improving the heat resistance of polyester fibers in rubber compounds.
The invention relates to a method for improving heat resistance of polyester fibers in rubber compounds.
Pipes and yarns made from polyethylene terephthalates (hereinafter referred to as briefly Although they have an excellent service life, they can be attacked in particular by acids, bases, amines and the like will. If fibers of this type are embedded in rubber compounds, they are exposed to the influence of these substances to a particularly high degree, especially at processing and use temperatures. This applies particularly to those who improve liability Systems too, of which at elevated temperatures, e.g. B. during resin formation, ammonia is split off. Amines that are found in rubber compounds, z. B. be used as an anti-aging agent or the like. Or are split off from these during vulcanization, act degrading to the basic molecules of the polyester. This is expressed in the fact that an oligomer film first forms on the surface of the fiber used forms, which on the one hand reduces the adhesion between fiber and rubber compound. ^ and on the other hand a reduction in strength of the Fiber.
The invention has the task of providing resistance to a To improve the strength reduction of the polyester fiber, especially in the case of dynamically highly stressed articles.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the polyester fibers enveloping rubber mixtures ammonia and amine binding substances or substance systems leading to such substances are added.

It has been shown that the strength degradation of the polyester fibers at the interface with the rubber compound - regardless of whether this is on built on the basis of natural and / or synthetic rubber is - begins, so that at the same time the adhesive strength of polyester fibers on rubber compounds through the degraded polyester layer was reduced in the interface. Studies have shown that in addition to hydrolytic influences of components the "rubber compound" also has aminolytic influences. The aminolysis appears to be much more pronounced here occur as the hydrolysis.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the rubber mixtures Added substances that both bind water and neutralize ammonia and amines. As particularly effective have the chlorides of the elements of the second main and subgroup of the periodic table, especially the calcium chloride ' rid proven.
Based on the knowledge that the aminolytic influences are essential appear more pronounced than the hydrolytic one further found that good results are also achieved when these halides are formed themselves, especially at higher temperatures if z. B. contain substances in rubber compounds containing zinc oxide are capable of splitting off hydrogen halides at higher temperatures. Examples of such substances are: Rubber hydrochloride, 2-chlorobutadiene polymers, chloroparaf- / fine and the like. These substances are all the more effective, the more or the more easily they split off hydrohalic acid at higher temperatures.
The hydrolytic and aminolytic influences of rubber compounds on polyester fibers are in the following working examples

Gemessen wurde die Bruchlast der herausgelösten Fasern in Kilopond nach verschiedenen Zeiten der Wärmebehandlung bei 16O C; die Meßergebnisse bis zu einer Lagerungszeit von 22 Stunden bei dieser Temperatur äind in der Kurve 1 des beiliegendes Diagrammes festgehalten. were spun-impregnated polyester cords sold under the trade name Diolen V 75 are available with a Td 1000/2, and that continue to improve the adhesion with a resorcinol-forraaldehyde-latex dipping solution impregnated, embedded and after vulcanization at 16O C stored. The breaking load of the detached fibers was measured in kilopond after various times of heat treatment at 160 ° C; the measurement results up to a storage time of 22 hours with this The temperature is recorded in curve 1 of the attached diagram.
In a further experiment, the same was used in a rubber mixture Construction, but in addition to improving the adhesion in an As is known, it contained 2.5 parts by weight of resorcinol and 1.5 parts by weight of hexamethylenetetramine, as in the previous experiment, Polyester cord embedded and treated. The results of the strength tests are shown in curve 2 of the diagram.
