Um Schnürschuhen und Schnürstiefeln, bei denen nur ein Schlitz mit einem elastischen Schnürbande zu verschließen ist, eine solche Dehnbarkeit zu geben, daß das Schuhzeug an- oder ausgezogen werden kann, ohne daßman das Schnürband zu lösen braucht, muß die Entfernung zwischen den beiden Reihenvon Schnürlöchern verhältnismäßig groß gemacht werden, so daß das Schuhzeug ein unschönes Aussehen bekommt. Man hat daher versucht, die eine Schnürung durch zwei zu ersetzen. Bei derartigen Schnürungen braucht die Entfernung zwischen den Schnürlöchern, bei gleicher Nachgiebigkeit für das Schuhzeug, nur halb so groß zu sein, als wenn nur eine Schnürung verwendet wird.
