Protective cover for motor vehicles, in particular for passenger vehicles

Eine derartige Schutzabdeckung ist beispielsweise der franz. Patentschrift
Such a protective cover is for example the franz. Patent specification 1 227 029 can be found. The tarpaulin is carried by a self-scooter attached to the rear end of the car, -or mounted on a self-scooter- winds and, if necessary, is moved by hand to the front

In the construction shown in this patent specification
the self-scooter is in its own over the rear
Housing arranged in the bumper.
If the protective cover is formed in the manner just described
from a single tarpaulin, the result is compulsory
llaufsdkerx3a @ c @ oixgkaix &, due to the minimum
knife of the spool of the self-scooter and the material
make the tarpaulin a roll diameter that
special accommodation of the self-scooter outside-the shock-
makes rod necessary. As the two just described-
show these constructions, this results in one
unsightly sight; on the other hand, the self-scooters are
half of the bumper relatively unprotected and can already
if there is lighter contact between the bumper and the bumper
rod are deformed in such a way that safe operation of the
like covers is no longer guaranteed.
It is therefore the aim of the invention to provide a protective cover
to create for motor vehicles of the type described at the beginning
fen, which does not have the disadvantages described and
whose dimensions are such that they
even housed in the interior of standard bumpers
can be.
According to the invention, this goal is achieved with a protective cover, which is characterized by 'that a self-scooter with an inhibiting device is provided on both the front and the rear bumper, and that the tarpaulin is divided into two partial tarpaulins of about half the length of the vehicle whose free ends can be connected to one another under tension by means of a lock.

rungsbeispiele.

baren Teilplanen 1a, 1b.By dividing the tarpaulin into two partial tarpaulins of about half the length of the vehicle, self-scooters can be produced whose roller diameter is so small that even when the two self-scooters are each housed in a protective tube, as is the case with a particular embodiment of the invention, the Accommodation even in the interior of the front and rear bumper is possible. The locking of the two partial tarpaulins can be formed by a zip fastener, a snap fastener or some other suitable connection which conveniently overlaps the ends of the two partial tarpaulins and which absorbs the train of the self-scooter. For example, a lock is also possible, which is formed by two rods which slightly exceed the width of the partial panels, which are attached to the free ends of the partial tarpaulin and which are positioned above or below one another. be interconnected under the underneath. The protective cover according to the invention consists essentially
from the two in the area of the front and rear
ren bumper 8 winding depending on a self Roller 12
available partial tarpaulins 1a, 1b.
As can be seen from FIG. 1, the self-roller 12 consists of a coil body which is under the action of a spring (not shown in the drawing) and which is axially supported in a cylindrical housing or tube 2. The ear 2 is closed in a dust-tight manner by a cover 3 on each side. The tarpaulin 1 is provided with a longitudinal slot 11, which is provided with sealing or scraper strips 5 on both sides. The length of the tube 2 is dependent on the vehicle width or the length present in the interior of the bumper to accommodate the tube. To fasten the self-roller 12 or the tubes 2 carrying the self-roller, brackets 4 are provided, which are used for fastening to the body 13.
In
In FIGS. 1 and 2, the slot 11 is provided for the self-scooter 12 approximately at the level of the axis of the bobbin. It is understood, however, that this slot in each of their arrival suitable angular position may be provided. For example, in the section shown in FIG. 3, it is located in the area of the lower half of the tube 2 and in FIG. 4 in the area of the upper half of the tube 2. FIGS. 3 and 4 serve to illustrate the accommodation of the self-roll in the interior of the bumper 8, in order to be able to accommodate the self-scooters in the interior of the bumper 8 , it is only necessary to bend the bumper supports 14 or 15 upwards or downwards in order to create the necessary space for receiving the tube 2. In Fig. 3, the rear partial tarpaulin 1b is pulled off the self-scooter 12 while wrapping the rear bumper 8 underneath it, while in Fig. 4 the partial tarpaulin 1b exits from the protective cover between the body 13 and the bumper upwards, omitting the rear bumper 8.
Anschließend ergreift man
In the perspective view of FIG. 5, the protective cover according to the invention is shown in its operating position, in which the lock 6 in the area of the roof of the passenger vehicle 9 connects the two free ends of the tarpaulin parts 1 a and 1 b. For reasons of better illustration, the front and rear bumpers have been omitted and only the tubes 2 containing self-scooters 12 are shown. These tubes can, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, be accommodated in the interior of the bumper 8, but they can also be arranged at another location in the area of the bumper that is as protected as possible. The best effect is undoubtedly obtained when it is arranged inside the bumper, since the protective cover no longer attracts the eye when it is practically rolled up when it is arranged at this point and is also best protected at this point. The start-up of the protective cover according to the invention is extremely simple: one grabs the end of the partial tarpaulin la or 1b located outside the slot 11 and pulls it into the area of the middle of the car, where it is fixed by actuating the locking device and on the car roof or an optional extra for this provided lateral bracket is placed. The free end of the second partial tarpaulin 1b or la is then grasped in the same way and the same is pulled into the area of the free end of the first partial tarpaulin. There the self-scooter of the second partial tarpaulin is also inhibited, the locking 6 of the two partial tarpaulins la, 1b is established and then the inhibition of the two self-scooters 12 is released, so that the protective cover lies under tension over the motor vehicle to be protected. To remove the protective cover, proceed in reverse order. In this case, however, it is sufficient to merely inhibit the self-scooter for one part of the tarpaulin and to wind up the other part of the tarpaulin under the action of the self-scooter 12. Then you wind up the second partial tarpaulin after releasing the locking device of your self-scooter.
