Description
Process for neutralizing multi-nutrient fertilizers by Treatment of acidic rock phosphate pulping masses It is already known fertilizers to oversaturate in a powdery state with ammonia and the product thus obtained to use to neutralize the fertilizer paste. This oversaturation can be with Assistance to devices already known and used for other industrial purposes be performed. The neutralization of acidic rock phosphate pulping masses is known to be carried out in two stages, with the slurry in the first stage NI-b and in the second gaseous ammonia is fed. It is also known to neutralize of pulpy digestion products of rock phosphates with nitric acid with ammonia to be carried out in the presence of returned goods in two successive stages. The task the invention is a particularly simple and economical way to To show neutralization of acidic fertilizer pastes. The previously known procedures for neutralization had the disadvantage that during the neutralization process substances not involved in the previous process as a carrier for the ammonia are fed.
These disadvantages are in the process to neutralize Compound - fertilizers, by treatment of the digestion of crude phosphates with nitric acid or a mixture of nitric and sulfuric acid andlor phosphoric acid obtained acid pasty digestion masses with gaseous or liquid ammonia in two stages according to the invention avoided by the acidic Rohphosphataufschlußpaste is pre-neutralized in the first stage with about half of the gaseous or liquid ammonia required for neutralization and the post-neutralization of the pre-ammonia is then carried out by adding separated and recycled solid fine material of the same type that is oversaturated with the second half of the ammonia required for neutralization normal temperatures (room temperatures) are maintained in both neutralization stages to avoid a decrease in the P205 solubility. In a further embodiment of the invention, about 0.5 to 3% ammonia, based on the weight of the fine material, is bound by the fine material added to the pre-ammoniated mass. According to a further feature of the invention, the ammonia-supersaturated fine material added to the pre-ammoniated mass can be partially replaced by basic Thomas phosphate slag or other solid, neutralizing fertilizers. In another embodiment of the invention, the supersaturation of the fines is effected with the second half of the time required for the neutralization Anunoniakmenge in a special device, the uniform distribution and homogenization of the ammonia in the, fine material, an exhaust cooling of the mass and the constant maintenance of normal Temperatures in the mass guaranteed.
The method of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawings. The device for supersaturation of the separated and recycled solid fine material consists of a trough 1 into which the fertilizer fine material - instead of being returned to production - is continuously introduced through a funnel 2 and the ammonia in liquid or gaseous state through injectors 3 . In this trough 1 one or more hollow shafts 4 are arranged, which with the same. Rotate speed and are provided with hollow helical blades 5 . A cooling liquid, such as water or brine, circulates inside these shafts and the hollow blades.
This type of device satisfies the specific conditions under which supersaturation is possible and effective, i. H. Homogeneity of the mass in its reaction, which is ensured by slow and even stirring, which favors the contact of the solid phase with the gaseous phase, and maintenance of a uniform temperature that approximately corresponds to room temperature over the entire length of the device. The prior cooling of the fine material is unnecessary, because this cooling is ensured by the device itself, provided that it is dimensioned so that the exchange surface is sufficient to ensure thermal equilibrium.
In the case of using liquid ammonia, it carries the heat of vaporization contributes to this thermal equilibrium. The risk of excessive local concentration of ammonia disappears because the device produces a uniform temperature in the entire processed powder mass.
The absorption of the ammonia is so complete that it is not necessary is to provide a recovery system, but by closing the trough a lid is all that is needed to avoid the losses caused by wiping over it can be traced back to the air via the oversaturated product.
The powdery, supersaturated with ammonia, from the device The resulting pulp is then used to make the acidic rock phosphate digestion fertilizer paste ready to neutralize the digestion of nitric acid alone or in mixture has been subjected to phosphoric or sulfuric acid. The neutralization takes place directly and without special precaution in a very simple device, for example, of the type of conventional mixing devices such as those used in the Manufacture of superphosphate or ammonium nitrate can be used.
Fig. 2 und 3 der Zeichnungen zeigen im Querschnitt und im Längsschnitt eine solche Vorrichtung, die aus einer Wanne 6 besteht, in der sich synchron - beispielsweise mit 60 Umdrehungen in der Minute - zwei Wellen 7 drehen, die auf ihrer gesamten Länge mit Schaufeln 8 versehen sind.2 and 3 of the drawings show, in cross-section and in longitudinal section, such a device, which consists of a tub 6 in which two shafts 7 rotate synchronously - for example at 60 revolutions per minute - which are equipped with blades 8 over their entire length are provided.
The paste is introduced into this tub at A. According to a further feature of the invention, the supply of ammonia for the neutralization of the acid paste of the multi-nutrient fertilizers is carried out using ammonia in liquid and solid or gaseous and solid form under the following conditions.
The injection of ammonia in liquid (or optionally gaseous) form takes place at the beginning of the reaction - i. H. at B - and it is strictly limited to that amount which is easily introduced into the paste and bound by it in the device. This first stage of neutralization does not require any ammonia recovery equipment and does not have any of the known drawbacks associated with processes which carry out the complete neutralization of the paste by using only liquid or gaseous ammonia. It is known that the main disadvantages are the loss of ammonia, the decrease in the solubility of the P205, the complexity and the size of the necessary devices. The procedure in the first neutralization stage is as follows: After the excess calcium nitrate has precipitated out, the acidic rock phosphate digestion paste is poured into the neutralization mixer with the necessary amount of ammonium sulfate.
The liquid or gaseous ammonia is known under pressure by and controlled agents are introduced at the bottom of the mixer where it passes through in the paste Injectors of known type are distributed carefully over the whole bottom of the Troughs are distributed. The evaporation of the NH3, in case it is injected in a liquid state being absorbed calories, which also contributes to the thermal equilibrium of the reaction is cheap. The amount of ammonia injected in this way is approximately half that Total amount necessary for neutralization.
The second - and final - stage neutralization takes place at C through the solid neutralizing agent, which consists of the super-saturated with ammonia fine material coming from the apparatus of FIG. 1. The neutralized paste exits the device at D.
The neutralized product then enters through gravity a second mixing device similar to the previous one but with a high level of ventilation and in which a certain evaporation of the water and an initial cooling takes place.
The partially cooled, neutralized fertilizer then arrives in the usual grain dryer.
The neutralization process of multi-nutrient fertilizers according to the Invention especially leads to highly concentrated fertilizers. The paste is in the process Neutralized exclusively by ammonia, which is partly in liquid or gaseous form State is introduced and partly in the form of a solid neutralizing agent, that from the fine material that is normally returned to the work process of the same kind, but here it is oversaturated with ammonia.
This complete neutralization by ammonia can in all cases can be used and in particular even for the production of less concentrated Fertilizers that normally require the use of neutral materials.
For example, for less concentrated fertilizers, the ammonia-supersaturated fine material can be partially replaced by using a second neutralizing agent of a solid type at the same time as this, for example basic Thomas phosphate slag, which, like the fine material, is introduced into the neutralization mixture at C. These slags have the following advantages with regard to the desired neutralizing effect: Due to the content of excess free lime, they have a relatively strong basic reaction to the acidity of the multi-nutrient fertilizer paste. 6 to 7 kg of Thomas phosphate slag have the same neutralizing effect as 1 kg of ammonia. They bring P20ä into the fertilizer, part of which is found in the finished product in soluble form, which represents a considerable increase in value. For example, the P205 content of the phosphate slags sold on the French market varies between 16 and 19%.
Finally they bring micronutrients (trace elements) (mainly Mn) into the multi-nutrient fertilizer, whose value for plant nutrition and the soil no longer needs to be proven. The proportion of slag in relation to the fine material oversaturated with ammonia can vary according to the nutrient concentration of the end products produced. A complete elimination of the fine material oversaturated with ammonia must be avoided for the following reasons: If it is assumed that the neutralization of the fertilizer takes place exclusively with thomasphosphate slag, without the use of liquid or gaseous ammonia or of fine material oversaturated with ammonia, then the neutralization reaction of the acidic rock phosphate digestion paste can occur be represented as follows: 2 H3P0-, - 4 Ca0 - P205 'slags 4 CaHPO4 - H -, 0 + H20 (1) Diczilcititlipho-ph, # it In this case it is necessary to neutralize all calcium nitrate by ammonium sulfate after reaction 2 as below, since otherwise all of the calcium nitrate would remain in the fertilizer, which would entail known disadvantages. Ca (NO.3), 2 - 3 (NH-1) 2 SO4 - - 3 CaS04 6 NH4N03 (2) If only NfIb is used for neutralization, only the Men-12 Ca. (NO3) 2 precipitated, which in the fertilizer is in excess of that which can be converted into dicalcium phosphate during the neutralization of the digestion paste. The precipitation reactions of Ca (NO; 3) # - # and the neutralization proceed in this case according to the formulas: Ca (NO3 # 2 - (NH4 # 2 SO4 - - CaS04 2 NHINO3 (3) 2 HiP04 - 2 Ca (NO3)) 2 - # - 4 NH3 - - 2 CaHPO4 - 11-> O --r- 4 Nil # N03 (4) If ammonia and Thomas phosphate slag are used for neutralization at the same time , then the amount of ammonium sulphate required for the precipitation is the same of the excess Ca (NO 3) 2 is necessary approximately in the middle of that which is necessary according to the reaction 3 and that of the reaction 2.
Since virtually 100 kg aufzuschließendes rock phosphate in the complete neutralization with ammonia 40 kg of ammonium sulfate and kg at complete, neutralization with Basic slag 100 are required, the amount of the necessary ammonium sulfate, when the method of neutralization with ammonia and slag is used at about 70 kg.
Compared to complete neutralization with ammonia, this brings neutralization with ammonia and slags accordingly in the mehmet fertilizer a larger one Amount of constituents that are only weakly concentrated in fertilizing elements are (20.4% N2 in the ammonium sulfate and 18% P205 in the slags). This can accordingly be a disadvantage when using particularly high nutrient fertilizers and especially such a nitrogen should be produced.
The process of the present invention is based on the common neutralization of acidic rock phosphate digestion masses with liquid or gaseous ammonia and ammonia-supersaturated fine material. It allows, depending on the concentration of the desired fertilizer and the local economic conditions, to use variable quantities of phosphate slag, which are introduced into the neutralization-mixing device, this addition optionally also being omitted.
The following examples show the versatile application possibilities of the process of the invention: The following figures relate in each case to the treatment of 100 kg of acid paste on entry into the neutralization mixer.
