Description
The invention relates to a resistor with a fuse, in which the resistor is under bias connected to a lead through a solder joint exposed to the current heat of the resistor is.
In many electrical circuits it is often desirable to have a resistor available have, when it is heated to a predetermined temperature as a result of an electrical overload of the Resistance interrupts the circuit, so that the circuit no longer flows through the current can be and the other components of the circuit are protected. So far for this purpose Resistors used comprise either a wire-wound resistor element that is so formed is that it burns out at a predetermined temperature, or a resistor that is a fusible Includes member that melts at a predetermined temperature to open the resistor.
A coarse fine flow fuse is also known in which one half is embedded in sand Fusible wire and in the other half the resistor body provided with a metallized end is arranged. This metallized end of the resistor body is soldered to the fuse wire. A spring sets the resistance body under such bias that it melts when the Solder left out of contact. This coarse fine flow fuse represents a very special training a fuse that practically only works once until the solder joint or Burning through the fuse wire can be used. Because the soldering point at the end of the resistor body is arranged, it can only react very imperfectly to changes in heat of the resistor body.
This known power fuse, like the type described, has a relatively complicated structure so that they are difficult and expensive to manufacture. In addition, the resistances mentioned and do not use the power fuse once it has opened so that you can use it must be replaced by a new unit.
The invention is based on the object of creating a resistor with a fuse which shows a simple structure and, above all, can be used again as often as required.
Es wird also von einem ganz ge-Widerstand mit SchmelzsicherungThis object is achieved according to the invention in that the one lead wire of the resistor from one end of which is bent back so resiliently over the resistance body and in this position is soldered to a connector that it springs back when the solder melts and a circuit interrupts. So it is from a whole resistance with a fuse

Ein besonderer Vorteil der Anordnung gemäß der Erfindung liegt vor allem in der Tatsache, daß die Schmelzsicherung auch nachträglich an praktisch jedem beliebigen Widerstand angebracht werden kann.homely resistance of any kind assumed a connecting wire of this resistor over the Resistance body bent back and at its end the fuse in the form of a solder joint intended. The soldering point is in the immediate vicinity directly above the resistor body and thus takes in an optimal way part of the heating of the resistance body. The fuse speaks with it very reliably to changes in the resistance temperature. As soon as the melting temperature of the Lotes is reached, the bent back connecting wire springs up and interrupts the circuit. It it can be readily seen that the soldered connection is easy to restore. A particular advantage the arrangement according to the invention lies mainly in the fact that the fuse can also be retrofitted can be attached to virtually any resistor.
The invention is explained in more detail using schematic drawings of several exemplary embodiments.

Ferner besitzt das WiderstandselementIn FIGS. 1 to 3, the resistor according to the invention with a fuse is designated as a whole by 10. This fuse resistor includes an electrical resistance element 12 from the ends thereof two conductive connection wires 14 and 16 go out. The resistance element 12 can be be any known type of resistor, e.g. B. firstly around a core made of an insulating Material onto which a wire made of an electrical resistance metal is wound in a helical manner is, and a jacket or a housing made of an electrically insulating material that the core and surrounds the resistance wire, or secondly around a core of insulating material on the outer surface thereof a film of an electrically resistive material, e.g. B. made of carbon or a metal applied is, as well as a housing or a jacket made of an electrically insulating material, which the core and surrounds the resistance film, or thirdly around a molded body made of an electrically insulating plastic material in which particles of an electrically resistive material, e.g. B. carbon particles, are distributed, as well as a housing or a jacket made of an electrically insulating material, which the molded body surrounds. In each of these cases, which are known resistance constructions is, the connecting wires 14 and 16 are conductively connected to the ends of the resistance element-12 and extend through the housing or jacket serving to protect the resistance element through to the outside. A tape or strip 18 of an electrically conductive metal is tightly around the Resistance element 12 put around. This band 18 carries two at a mutual distance extending, substantially parallel arms 20 and 22 projecting outwardly from the resistance element, and a substantially U-shaped trough section 24 between the arms 20 and 22, which follows outside opens. One of the connection wires, e.g. B. the wire 14 is over the resistance element 12 away bent inwards and protrudes into the trough 24. The trough is according to FIG. 2 with a fusible Metal 26, e.g. B. filled with a solder, through which the lead wire 14 to the band 18 electrically is conductively and mechanically connected. The composition of the fusible metal 26 is such that the metal melts at the predetermined temperature at which the resistors open target. The particular composition of a solder that melts at a desired temperature can can be found in any relevant specialist book or catalog for soldering metals. On the belt 18 is a connector 28 made of an electrically conductive metal is attached, and this connector extends beyond one end of the resistance element 12. The connector or wire 28 can either consist of one piece with the band 18 or attached to it in a suitable manner, e.g. B. by brazing or welding. Although you could solder the connection wire 28 to the tape 18, however, care must be taken to use a solder that melts at a higher temperature than the fusible metal 26. Although Fig. 1 shows that the terminal wire 28 from the same end of the Resistance element 12 goes out like the connecting wire 14, so that the one provided with the fuse Resistor 10 has a terminal at each end, but the terminal wire 28 may extend from the resistor 10 also extend in the radial direction or in the same direction as the connecting wire 16. It also has the resistance element
ίο 12 nach Fig. 2 einen kreisrunden Querschnitt, und das Anschlußband 18 weist eine entsprechende Form auf, doch kann das Widerstandselement 12 jede beliebige Querschnittsform besitzen, d. h., es kann rechteckig, elliptisch usw. ausgebildet sein, wobei das Band 13 ähnlich geformt ist.ίο 12 of FIG. 2 a circular cross section, and that Lanyard 18 has a corresponding shape, but resistive element 12 can be any Have cross-sectional shape, d. That is, it can be rectangular, elliptical, etc., with the band 13 is shaped similarly.
In order to produce the resistor 10 provided with a fuse, it is only necessary to a tape 18, to which a connecting wire 28 is attached, to be pushed onto a resistance element of any type, one of the connection wires of the actual resistance element over this inward to bend over and to fasten this connecting wire with the aid of the fusible metal 26 in the trough 24. In this way, the resistor 10 can be easily and quickly produced with a fuse, so that it is relatively cheap.
In use, the fuse resistor 10 with the help of the two connecting wires 16 and 28 built into the circuit in question. The resistance element 12 is then present with the circuit one end through the connection wire 16 and at the other end through the connection wire 14, the fusible Metal 26, the band 18 and the connecting wire 28 in connection. During normal operation of the Circuit, the resistance element 12 will heat up somewhat, but not to the melting point of the fusible metal 26. However, if the circuit is overloaded, the resistance element 12 will heated more, and when it reaches the melting point of the fusible metal 26, this will melt, and the connection wire 14 is due to the inherent resilience of the trough 24 Jump out and open the resistor 10. This will prevent the current from flowing through the Circuit is broken, and the remaining elements of the circuit are protected against damage electrical overload protected. When the cause of the circuit overload has been eliminated is and if the circuit is to be closed again, you only need the connection wire 14 to push it back into the trough 24 and cover it with further fusible metal 26 with the band 18 connect to. It is therefore .not necessary to replace the fuse resistor 10 as it is is the case with the previously known resistors with fuse, because the inventive Fuse resistor 10 can be used again and again.
