Lubricating bodies The invention relates to lubricating bodies in the form of disks,
Rolls or sheet-shaped flexible sheets for treating precision machined
Sliding or bearing surfaces under pressure made from a compressed mixture of molybdenum disulfide
with a synthetic resin binder.
It has been proposed to manufacture lubricating sticks that
essentially of .a mixture of molybdenum disulfide and a smaller amount
a binder made from a cured, heat-resistant, thermosetting phenolic resin
exist, but are relatively brittle because of their content of penol resin.
enthalten. It has also become known to use lubricants based on
Synthetic resins and molybdenum disulphide produce melamine formaldehyde as synthetic resins
contain.
According to the invention, such a lubricating body consists of a
Mixture of molybdenum disulphide with a binder that has the structure: a polyaddition product
on the basis of diisocyanates. According to the invention, the content of
Diisocyanate resin in relation to the molybdenum disulfide 5 to 6 "/ o. The molybdenum sulfide
Other sulfides, such as tin sulfide, can also be added. Incoming attempts
have shown that the ratio of wear of the body of lubricant to that transferred
The amount of lubricant in the lubricating bodies according to the invention is extremely favorable

A high-quality lubricating effect of dry lubricating films,
that from a molybdenum-containing compressed solid to a friction-loaded one
Metal surface must be transferred, puts on the structure of the lubricating mass
certain requirements: The basic requirement is the adhesion of the lubricating film
metallic bearing and sliding surfaces. This can be achieved using the
surface forces inherent in the purified molybdenum disulfite, supported by
a binding agent, which in terms of application quantity, binding ability and aging
offers appropriate collateral. Theoretically, the natural surface forces would
the Mo: lybdenum disulfide crystal structure is sufficient for the adhesive strength. Practically
however, it is the surface properties of the metals exposed to friction
against the demands. There is therefore a need for a binder. By
Extensive experimentation found that the amount of binder required
when using a polyurethane with 5 to 6 '% is sufficient to reduce the coefficient of friction
of the formed film in the context of a pure Ma SZ film and the
Preconditions to meet the practice, namely: 1. Avoiding premature
Disintegration of the lubricating film due to embrittlement (temperatures), 2. viscoplastic nature
of the binder to ensure minimal wear during use, 3. high percentage
Absorption of molybdenum disulphide abrasion in the form of firmly adhering, film-forming deposits
on the metal surface.
Several exemplary embodiments of the invention are given below.
Example 1 The purest commercially available molybdenum disulfide powder of the formula Mo S2 is
subjected to a cleaning process by removing the grinding components, such as ale O. or
Si, O ", can be removed, partly by chemical dissolving in hydrochloric acid, hydrogen fluoride,
acid, etc. with subsequent washout. This purified Mo S2 undergoes a drying process
subjected and then ground to fine grain. The hardness of Mo is S2
after cleaning between 1 and 1.5 according to Mohs.
The Mo S2 powders produced in this way are made with different percentages
mixed with binders made from diisocyanate. A favorable bond is shown at
Surcharges between 5 and 614, based on the weight of the Mo S2 powder. The pressing
is carried out at pressures of up to 60 kg per cm2. Higher or lower pressing pressures
are required depending on the use, i. H. Use of transferability
of Mo S2 on the surfaces to be transferred. The desired transfer area is
depending on the respective contact pressure of the MOS2, d. that is, it must be the deformation pressing pressure
be matched to the surface to be processed.
Example 2 On a
in a known manner solidified base made of paper, paper fabric, textile or
A coating is applied to plastic fabrics or films, which consists of a mixture
consists of purified MoS2 and diisocyanate binders. To the abrasion resistance
to vary the tapes, foils, etc. coated with Mo S2, the proportion of
Binders are chosen to be higher than, for example, in the case of bodies according to the example
1 are made by pressing. These coated sheet-like friction means
are dried in a known manner and are then usable. For example
such sheet-shaped belts equipped with Mo S2 similar to the belt grinding process
used in the overdrawing of lifting platform cylinders, d. i.e., a lift cylinder
about 2 m long and 40 cm in diameter was suspended in a rotating manner, that as an endless
Lubricant produced by tape was supplied to the cylinder in the usual way.
The speed of the Mo S2 friction belt was up to 12 m / sec.
