Description
Process for the production of pharmaceutically valuable esters for patent 854 356 Das. U.S. Patent 854,356 relates to a method of making pharmaceutically valuable esters from the oxidation of fossil or recent Fuels, preferably carboxylic acid mixtures obtained by means of nitric acid. the process consists essentially in the fact that these carboxylic acid mixtures with Monoalcohols, e.g. B. butyl alcohol, esterified in such a way that the esters formed still have a certain acid number. The esters are proportionate high-boiling, highly viscous liquids which, even in very strong dilution, form a exert excellent fungicidal effect, especially then. when in shape ven soaps can be used. It was found, however, that for incorporation in soaps the crude esters of a particularly careful cleaning of the z. B. multiple and subject to relatively lossy distillation in a high vacuum otherwise, because of the by-products that are always dissolved in the esters only inhomogeneously interspersed soaps are obtained.
It was now in further development of the process according to the main patent found that you can get esters of the quality required for processing on soap and purity without multiple lossy distillations by obtaining the crude fuel oxidation product dissolved in nitric acid after separation unconnected fuel components evaporated in the spray dryer and from the dry carboxylic acid mixture thus obtained by extraction with a suitable organic solvents. z. B. butanone. but preferably ethyl acetate, the for the esterification separates particularly suitable mixed carboxylic acid fraction ai). That on Carbon.säuregemisch obtained in this way gives, after its processing, weak acidic ester products, which after purification by single distillation are hot are thinner than those previously obtained even after multiple distillation and, moreover, can be easily incorporated into a wide variety of soaps. Presumably this is due to the mild type of drying and the subsequent extraction a raw carboxylic acid mixture with particularly high proportions of soaps that are easy to process Carboxylic acids or their esters obtained.
Example The procedure is explained in more detail using the drawing: In a pressure-resistant reaction vessel 1 made of stainless steel, 30 kg are ground Gas flame carbon and 300 liters of nitric acid with a density of 1.15 (25%) at a pressure of 6 atmospheres heated to 1500 C. By blowing air into the reaction mixture is the resulting nitrogen monoxide is immediately oxidized again to nitrogen dioxide. in the connected scrubber, the nitric acid is restored and flows again back into the oxidation vessel. After about 2 hours, the residue is filtered off and the solution in evaporator 2 is thickened. In the dry atomizer 3 is then obtained the dry carboxylic acid mixture (21 kg. It is in the extractor 4 with ethyl acetate extracted. a solution of 13.6 kg of a particularly pure carboxylic acid mixture is obtained.
Der siedepunkt liegt bei 220 bis 260° C/0,2 mm Hg. das mittlere Molekulargewicht beträgt 484. die Elementaranalvse ergibt 64.23% C, 8,88% H, 0,47% N, 0,27% S. 26,15% O.After the ethyl acetate has been driven off, the extract is mixed with butanol in Esterified in the presence of gasoline as an entrainer under a pressure of 8 atmospheres at 1900 C. 5. After evaporation of the gasoline-butanol mixture 6, 25.5 kg of a crude ester mixture are obtained. that is in the short-path column 7 at 0.2 mm Hg with high throughput and almost residue-free lets distill. About 24 kg of a pure butyl ester mixture are obtained with the Acid number 28. The boiling point is 220 to 260 ° C / 0.2 mm Hg. The average molecular weight is 484. the elemental analysis gives 64.23% C, 8.88% H, 0.47% N, 0.27% S. 26.15% O.
B. 2 to 5 parts of the acidic ester mixture purified in this way are used in the Pilieren incorporated into a wide variety of soaps. Such soaps can e.g. B. be made from palm oil, olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil and tallow. Particularly proven have z. B.
Soaps made from about 47 parts palm oil, 33 parts olive oil, 5 parts castor oil and 15 parts of sebum or such 15 parts coconut oil, 30 parts Palm oil and 55 parts of tallow. These mixtures are saponified in a known manner, salted out and. dried. The oil-like esters are then added during piling. It was found that the addition of these esters also increases the quality of the soaps, in particular their shelf life, influenced favorably.
