Description

The The present invention relates to an adsorbent material according to the The preamble of claim 1, in particular for the production of protective materials like protective suits, Protective gloves, protective covers (eg for patient transport) and the like, especially for the ABC use, as well as methods for its production and its Use in the aforementioned protective materials.

It There are a number of substances that are absorbed by the skin and too heavy physical damage to lead. Examples are the blistering Lost (yellow cross) and the Nerve poison sarin mentioned. People who can come into contact with such poisons need one wear suitable protective suit or by suitable protective materials protected against these poisons become.

Basically there There are three types of protective suits: The air and water vapor-proof protective suits, the with a for impermeable to chemical poisons Rubber layer are equipped and very quickly to a heat accumulation to lead, the air and water vapor permeable Protective suits, the highest Provide wearing comfort, and finally Protective suits, which are equipped with a membrane, although water vapor, not but those mentioned Let toxins through.

Daher verwendet man hauptsächlich luftdurchlässige Materialien.Protective suits against chemical warfare agents for a longer one Use under a variety of conditions are allowed when carrier lead to no heat accumulation. Therefore, one uses mainly air-permeable Materials.

The air-permeable, permeable protective suits generally have an adsorption layer with activated carbon, which binds the chemical poisons very permanently, so that also from heavily contaminated suits for the carrier no danger. The big advantage of this system is that the Activated carbon is also accessible on the inside, so that damage or other leaks ingressed toxins very quickly adsorbed. In extreme conditions, for example when a drop of a thickened poison from a greater height to a slightly open place the aus senmaterials occurs and durchschlägt to coal can the coal layer but locally briefly overtaxed be.

The Adsorption layer in the previously described, air-permeable, permeable protective suits is in most cases designed such that either on average up to about 1.0 mm large activated carbon particles on a carrier printed adhesive patches are bound or that one reticulated PU foam containing a "carbon paste" (i.e., binder and activated carbon) waterproof is, as the adsorption layer is used, wherein the adsorption layer generally by an "outer material" (i.e., a covering material) is supplemented and at the carrier facing inside covered by a light textile material is. Occasionally, however, there are also composites comprising an activated carbon sheet, so z. As an activated carbon nonwoven include.

Furthermore, protective suits are used, which are equipped with a membrane that is designed to increase the wearing comfort while permeable to water vapor, but at the same time acts as a barrier against liquids, especially toxins. Such a material is for example in the EP 0 827 451 A2 described. Protective suits with a permeable to water vapor, but for poisons, especially skin poisons, impermeable membrane have the disadvantage that at leaks penetrated poisons remain inside the protective suit and are absorbed by the skin of the wearer.

The originating from the home of the applicant itself German patent application DE 198 29 975 A1 describes adsorbent materials for protective suits with a water vapor permeable, simultaneously acting as a barrier to liquids membrane based on a polyurethane and an adsorption layer based on activated carbon.

The same from the home of the applicant itself derived German patent application DE 40 03 765 A1 describes a water vapor permeable, waterproof material of a carrier material, an associated elastic, waterproof, but water vapor permeable, non-porous membrane adsorbable to the particles such. B. activated carbon, are brought to Haf th, which in turn can be covered by a lightweight textile material.

The with the in the DE 198 29 975 A1 and DE 40 03 765 A1 However, water vapor permeability achieved is not always satisfactory, especially not under extreme conditions of use.

It Now is the object of the present invention, an adsorption or protective material to provide that avoids the disadvantages described above and especially for the production of ABC protective materials such as protective suits, protective gloves, Protective covers and the like is suitable.

Another object of the present invention is to provide an adsorbent material, especially for use in protective materials such as Protective suits, protective gloves, protective covers and the like to create, which - in addition to a water vapor permeable, the passage in particular of chemical warfare and toxins (eg skin poisons) strongly retarding membrane - contains an adsorption layer based on activated carbon. In this case, a certain weight saving of the adsorption material is desired.

A Another object of the present invention is to provide an adsorption material, in particular for use in protective materials like protective suits, Protective gloves, protective covers and the like, which a ensures high wearing comfort.

Laminats, z. B. Sperrschichten aus drei miteinander verbundenen bzw. verklebten Polyurethanschichten bzw. -lagen.Particularly homogeneous, uniform barrier layers are obtained when working according to the so-called "reversal process", ie when the mass forming the barrier layer (eg a PU dispersion) is first applied to a removable or peelable release layer (eg siliconized or waxed paper), then dried and optionally crosslinked and then applied to this a further layer, which then with the Trägerma can be glued. After removal of the separating layer, it is then possible to apply to the side of the film previously covered with the separating layer (ie to the side of the film remote from the carrier material) a further layer (eg a PU dispersion) which simultaneously acts as an adhesive layer for the film subsequently applied adsorption serves. After application of the adsorption layer and drying and crosslinking of the barrier layer material, optionally with the application of a covering material, an adsorption material according to the invention then results. The above-described embodiment of the method according to the invention is thus particularly suitable for forming multilayer barrier layers in the form of a composite or laminate, for. B. barrier layers of three interconnected or bonded polyurethane layers or layers.

For the preparation according to the invention provided polyurethane-based barrier layers is preferably an aqueous dispersion of a prepolymer, masked or blocked isocyanate (z. B. Impraperm ® VP LS 2329, Bayer AG Leverkusen) and an isocyanate-reactive crosslinking agent (z. B. Imprafix ® VP LS 2330 of the Bayer AG Leverkusen). Further inventively also suitable dispersions are, for. B. in the EP 0 784 097 A1 , the entire disclosure of which is hereby incorporated by reference. In order to guarantee a sufficient storability of the dispersion, the reduced reactivity of the masked or blocked isocyanate group is a careful compromise; On the other hand, the hydrophilic segments must only lead to a moderate swelling of the resulting barrier layer. Such dispersions can be applied as a very thin coating and penetrate only slightly into the carrier material, which is preferably oleophobed (the oleophobization of the carrier material has the advantage on the one hand that the combatants or toxins are rejected by the finished adsorption material or "roll off" thereof. and on the other hand, in the production of the adsorption material, the applied dispersion is not or only slightly absorbed by the carrier material).

The adsorption material according to the invention generally has a barrier layer with an extremely high water vapor permeability of at least 20 l / m 2 per 24 hours at a thickness of 50 microns (measured according to the "inverted cup method" and at 25 ° C). This is when using the adsorption material according to the invention in protective materials, such. B in protective suits, protective gloves, protective covers and the like, ensures a particularly high level of comfort.

The support material, the adsorption layer and the optional covering material set the water vapor permeability of the adsorption tion material as a whole - compared to the pure barrier - something down; the water vapor permeability of the adsorption material as a whole is still very high and is at least 10 l / m 2 per 24 h with a thickness of the barrier layer of 50 microns (at 25 ° C).

The good wearing properties are further improved by using an activated carbon-based adsorption layer by the buffer effect of the activated carbon. When using, for example, activated carbon beads as the adsorbent material for the adsorption layer runs of up to about 250 g / m 2 or more are common, so that z. B. at a sweat break about 40 g / m 2 of moisture can be stored, which can then be discharged through the barrier layer back to the outside. Thus, a protective suit made on the basis of such a material can theoretically store about 150 g of moisture.

The Water vapor permeability a compact, so non-porous or continuous (closed) barrier layer is always based also on the presence of hydrophilic segments. To a good one Moisture transport with only moderate swelling Although the hydrophilic areas should be numerous, but have only a medium water-binding capacity.

Die Quellbarkeit in Wasser sollte aber höchstens 35% betragen.at the inventively provided barrier layer So it is a high water vapor permeable layer, their permeability for poisons or warfare agents but is low. Absorbed by the barrier layer Moisture increases that Blocking effect. The swellability in water should be at most 35%.

For training the adsorption layer can different adsorbents are used, as in the claims 30 to 35 are defined. When using discrete activated carbon particles, preferably in grain form ("Kornkohle") or spherical shape ("Ball Coal"), for training of the adsorption layer, these preferably have average diameters the activated carbon particles of <0.5 mm, preferably <0.4 mm, preferably <0.35 mm, more preferably <0.3 mm, most preferably ≤ 0.25 mm, but at least 0.1 mm; which are smaller particles of activated carbon for applications preferred in which a good adsorption kinetics and a low Weight of the adsorbent material is required while the size of activated carbon particles especially when used, a greater adsorption capacity required is.

Ausführungsbeispiele:EXAMPLES

Beispiel 1 (Vergleich):Example 1 (comparison):

At a oleophobicized outer fabric (base material) in an amount of about 60 g / m 2, a dispersion of a masked or blocked diisocyanate with the appropriate crosslinking agent (diisocyanate: Impraperm ® VP CB 2329 Bayer AG Leverkusen and crosslinking agent: Imprafix ® VP CB 2330 Bayer AG Leverkusen) and dried at about 100 ° C. During drying, a closed, sticky film of a prepolymeric polyurethane is formed, which on the one hand, after its crosslinking, prevents the direct penetration of toxins or warfare agents or greatly retards their penetration while distributing them over a larger area.

The adsorption layer is then applied to this sticky film. The adsorption layer may consist of either an activated carbon fabric or other activated carbon sheets having a basis weight of preferably 50 to 100 g / m 2 or discrete activated carbon beads having average diameters ≤ 0.3 mm in an amount of about 100 g / m 2 .

Subsequently, the adsorption layer is covered with a light textile (about 15 to 30 g / m 2 ), which is laminated with the aid of a melt adhesive web. In this lamination temperature must reach at least 160 ° C to release the blocked isocyanate groups and start the cross-linking.

The result is an inventive adsorbent material with an air-impermeable, water vapor-permeable barrier layer based on a PU membrane, which has a water vapor permeability of at least 20 l / m 2 per 24 h at a thickness of 50 microns at 25 ° C and at the same time as an adhesive for on the Adsorption layer (activated carbon sheets or discrete activated carbon beads) arranged on the side of the barrier layer facing away from the carrier material is used. The adsorption material prepared in this way is particularly suitable for the production of protective materials of all kinds, in particular for the production of protective suits, protective gloves, protective covers and the like.

Beispiel 2 (erfindungsgemäß):Example 2 (according to the invention):

To siliconized paper in an amount of about 15 g / m 2, a dispersion of a masked or blocked diisocyanate with the appropriate crosslinking agent (diisocyanate: Impraperm ® VP LS 2329, Bayer AG Leverkusen and crosslinking agent: Imprafix ® VP LS 2330 from Bayer AG Leverkusen) and dried at about 160 ° C to about 180 ° C to a film and crosslinked. Onto this dried and crosslinked film, the above-mentioned dispersion is again knife-dried in an amount of about 15 g / m 2 and dried at about 100 ° C. During drying, a closed, tacky film of a prepolymeric polyurethane is formed. An oleophobized outer material (support material) is applied to the still sticky film, the whole is crosslinked by heating to temperatures between about 160 ° C. and about 180 ° C. and then the siliconized paper is removed.

Subsequently, on the previously covered with the siliconized paper side of the previously produced polyurethane film again in an amount of about 15 g / m 2, the aforementioned dispersion is knife-dried and dried at about 100 ° C, so that a closed, tacky film of a prepolymeric polyurethane forms, on which then the adsorption layer is applied. The adsorption layer may consist of either an activated carbon fabric or other activated carbon sheets having a basis weight of preferably 50 to 100 g / m 2 or discrete activated carbon beads having average diameters ≤ 0.3 mm in an amount of about 100 g / m 2 . Then the adsorption layer is covered with a light textile (about 15 to 30 g / m 2 ), which is laminated with the aid of a melt adhesive web. In this lamination temperature must reach at least 160 ° C to release the blocked isocyanate groups and start the cross-linking.

The result is an inventive adsorbent having a substantially impermeable, water vapor permeable barrier layer based on a three-layer PU composite membrane or a three-layer laminate having a water vapor permeability of at least 20 l / m 2 per 24 h at a thickness of 50 microns and at 25 ° C. The adsorption material prepared in this way is particularly suitable for the production of protective materials of all kinds, in particular for the production of protective suits, protective gloves, protective covers and the like.
