It is often desirable or necessary for pet owners to take their pets with them on trips. It is often necessary to use a transport device by means of which the pet can be transported in an animal-friendly manner. When traveling, pets are confronted with environments that are unknown to them, which can lead to restlessness and / or unusual behavior of the pet due to stress.

E.g. it can be difficult for a dog to find rest and sleep in a hotel, airplane, and / or train. Here it is advantageous to create an environment for the dog that is at least partially known to the dog and in which the dog feels comfortable. A calm and satisfied dog leads to a considerable reduction in the burden on the dog owner with regard to supervision and care for the animal. To do this, however, it is necessary for the dog owner to carry appropriate items that allow him to create such an environment for the pet. However, these items can be cumbersome and difficult to transport. In particular, for example on a flight, the carrying of necessary items such as a dog basket, one or more blankets and / or toys may be limited or not possible due to the existing weight restriction.

Furthermore, it is necessary for the pet owner to avoid damage to the environment during the trip and a stay outside the home by the pet. E.g. A first aspect of the invention relates to an animal transport device for transporting pets, such as a dog or a cat. The animal transport device is also simply referred to below as a transport device and the pet is also simply referred to as an animal. The transport device can comprise at least one floor element and at least one lateral wall part which at least in some areas surrounds the floor element and is movably connected to the floor element. In the transport configuration, the floor element and the wall part can together define a receiving space for a pet to be transported. In the ceiling configuration, the floor element and the wall part can together define an, in particular essentially flat, seating surface for a pet to be placed thereon.

The animal transport device can thus simultaneously provide a type of transport container and a type of blanket or enlarged stationary area for the pet. This means, for example, that the pet owner does not have to carry along the relevant blankets, a basket and / or an animal transport box when traveling with his pet. This will relieve the pet owner. The wall part can comprise at least two wall elements, each of which is connected to an edge of an assigned edge of the base element so as to be movable, in particular pivotable about a pivot axis corresponding essentially to the respective edges. A particularly large-surface ceiling configuration can thus be provided, in which the two wall elements are adjusted to a position that is essentially flat with respect to the floor element. At the same time, the receiving space in the transport configuration can limit the receiving space in the vertical direction in at least two directions, so that the pet is accommodated particularly securely in the receiving space. In particular, the pet can reliably prevent the unwanted leaving of the receiving space in the transport configuration. This also relieves the burden on the pet owner both when traveling with the pet and after arrival at the destination. The wall part or the respective wall elements can also be moved from the ceiling configuration in the opposite direction to the transport configuration, in particular pivoted or folded together. The respective wall elements and / or the floor element can consist of rigid elements which essentially retain their shape in the two configurations.
