Abstract

Aiding means with an electronic digital camera that captures the face of the customer and recognizes and analyzes facial features of the customer by means of a computer connected to the camera and a display device which is connected to the computer and the computer is set up on the basis of the facial features detected by the computer the customer for this selected advertising messages to the display device and methods for transmitting information and offers to a customer with these features.

Description

  • The present invention relates to a retail aid for the retail trade.
  • In retail, advertising has traditionally been static and has been shown to be the same for all customers. However, it has been proven that advertising is much more effective if it is tailored as individually as possible to the customer.
  • It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a sales aid for the retail, which allows the individual customer customized as possible, for example gender and age group relevant content zuzuspielen that can advantageously be specified with other parameters, for example, depending on the weather or the mood of the consumer.
  • According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the addition means comprises an electronic digital camera that detects the face of the customer and recognizes and analyzes facial features of the customer by means of a computer connected to the camera and further comprises a display device which is connected to the computer and the Computer is adapted to transmit based on the computer detected facial features of the customer for this selected advertising messages to the display device.
  • With regard to the data protection problem, it is preferable to evaluate as facial features anonymous facial features, at least gender and age. Alternatively, features such as mood or specific signs of illness of the customer could be evaluated.
  • In order to be able to transmit advertising messages which have been specially adapted to the particular situation, weather sensors can be connected to the computer of the sales aid and the computer can be set up to take into account the weather data determined by the weather sensors in the selection of the advertising messages. Alternatively, such weather data can be retrieved from the computer also from the Internet.
  • Camera and display devices can be integrated into a sales counter, product rack or a sales counter. But they can also be mounted elsewhere in the store in the customer's field of vision.
  • The ideal hardware for the inventive sales tool is a tablet PC, which already integrates as standard display device, camera and computer.
  • Furthermore, a sales display for goods in the detection area of the camera can preferably be arranged, and the computer can be set up to determine, based on the images recognized by the camera, to which product the customer accesses.
  • Alternatively, such sales displays can be used for goods provided with weight measuring devices on their legs, which are connected to the computer, wherein the computer can then be set up in such a way that it can determine from the data supplied by the weight measuring devices which goods the customer takes. In this regard, the type of goods can be easily determined on the basis of the weight, but on the other hand it is also possible, if all the legs of the salesperson are provided with appropriate weight measuring devices to triangulate on the basis of the individual values on the change in weight, from which point from the sales display the customer Goods taken away. This enables insights into different product groups, their customer profiles as well as the optimal placement of the various product groups.
  • As related facial gauges, there are strain gauges that can be attached to each leg of a sales counter.
  • By means of the addition means according to the invention, a customized room scenting can also be made possible by providing the sales display with a fragrance dispenser for different fragrances, and the fragrance dispenser is connected to the computer, wherein the computer is adapted based on the recognized facial features of the customer and other external Factors, such as Day of the week, time and current weather conditions to select a fragrance that is particularly suitable for the customer.
  • If the corresponding shop has a loyalty card system, and the customer has thus consented to a de-anonymisation of his data, the computer of the sales assistant according to the invention can preferably be set up in such a way that it recognizes corresponding customer card holders on the basis of the recognized facial features and individualized information and offers for these customer card holders transmits the display device.
  • Furthermore, the present invention also includes a sales stand which is particularly suitable for the present invention, on the legs of which weight measuring devices are attached, which supply data from which it can be determined which goods the customer is taking or for which goods The customer is interested, but ultimately puts them back.
  • The object of the present invention is moreover achieved by a method for the transmission of information and offers to a customer of a retailer or a pharmacy, which comprises the following steps:
    • - Capture of facial features of the customer
    • - Evaluating the detected facial features in terms of characteristics of the customer such as age and gender of the customer
    • - Selecting and transmitting information and offers tailored to these characteristics of the customer to the customer.
  • In this case, it is particularly preferred according to the invention if, in the selection of the information and offers to be transmitted to the customer, additional weather, time of day and season are taken into account.
  • The present invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to the embodiment shown in the drawings. It shows:
    • 1 a sales counter equipped according to the invention; and
    • 2 a block diagram of an inventive additionals.
  • 1 shows a sales counter or a sales table 10 , in the field of vision of the customer, for example on an articulated arm 12 a tablet PC 14 is arranged. This has as usual a display area 16 in the form of a conventional flat panel display. Above it is an electronic digital camera 18 arranged. Such tablet PCs are commercially available. In addition, on the sales table or the sales counter a stand 20 be positioned with which the customer goods 22 to get presented.
  • The legs of the erector are advantageously with weight sensors 24 provided, which serve, based on the weight change of the erector 20 determine which goods the customer is currently taking. Optionally, by comparing the changes in weight of the mounted on the individual legs weight sensors can be determined even by triangulation, from which point of the erector exactly the customer has taken a product. The relevant information can be very useful for deriving information regarding the optimal positioning of the respective product group for sale. As weight sensors 24 find preferably strain gauges use.
  • 2 shows a functional block diagram of the data flow in the tablet PC 14 , This includes, as usual, a computing unit (CPU) 26 the data from the camera 18 receives and by means of one in the CPU 26 current face recognition program selects which data, such as information or commercials on the display area 16 of the tablet PC. In addition, the CPU can 26 for selecting the most suitable information and advertising messages weather data from weather sensors 28 or from the internet 30 evaluate.
  • In addition, of course, the advertising messages can still be selected based on the day and season (season).
  • At the same time, the CPU can use a POS system 32 be connected in order to get a feedback from there, if the customer has bought a certain product due to the leaked advertising. In this way, the system can be designed self-learning. In addition to this, a data connection with the on the stand 20 attached weight sensors 22 which provides much more direct feedback on those goods 22 which the customer is currently picking up.
  • In this regard, moreover, by means of the camera 18 if necessary, the viewing direction of the customer are evaluated.
  • Finally, there is also the possibility, for example, on the stand 20 Alternatively, however, at any other suitable location, a Raumuftuftungsvorrichtung 34 also provided by the CPU 26 controlled, depending on the recognized facial features of the customer or the local weather conditions, different fragrances for scenting the room can release.
  • The present invention has been described above with reference to an embodiment which is particularly suitable for use in pharmacies. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. Rather, the invention can be usefully used in all possible retail outlets, where an issue of goods to the customer. The customer is bored while, for example, the pharmacist searches out the ordered medication. This period can be used to advantage for the transmission of information or advertising messages to the customer. The same benefits can be used, for example, in other retail sectors such as supermarkets, department stores, duty-free stores and hairdressing salons.
  • The present invention may be further improved, for example, by mounting a weight measuring device on the place in front of the sales counter where the customer usually stands, by which the weight of the customer is detected. This can be used as further features for selecting the information and offers, or it can be calculated on the basis of the thus determined weight and the camera images, from which the size of the customer can be derived, the Bodymass index, and on the basis of which special information or offers to be selected.
  • The device according to the invention functions as follows:
  • The camera 18 absorbs facial features of the customer. The CPU 26 evaluates the facial features of the customer. For data protection reasons, an anonymous evaluation is preferable in which the result is only the identification of the sex and the age group of the customer. In addition, for example, even the mood of the customer and / or disease characteristics (especially in the pharmacy - for example, red nose from cold or increased temperature in case of cold) found and used to select suitable advertising messages. In addition, the selection of the advertising message may additionally be influenced by the currently prevailing weather conditions using either of the weather sensors 28 locally supplied data or from the corresponding from the internet 30 data used in the selection of information and commercials. Finally, based on the feedback from the stand 20 and from the POS system 32 a self-learning algorithm are controlled, so that the computer learns which customers with which facial features preferably acquire which goods and which customers are interested in which goods, but ultimately put them back.
  • As more and more businesses use a room fragrancing, the data obtained on the characteristics of the customer can also be used for a customized room scenting, at least in the vicinity of the sales counter or the sales counter 10 be used. It can then be a suitable fragrance dispenser 34 be controlled by the CPU accordingly.
  • If the business to be equipped with the inventive sales assistant also has a customer card system in which the customer has consented to the use of his data by purchasing the customer card, it is also possible for the CPU 26 the customer on the basis of the camera 18 individually identified, and for this customer card owner specific individualized information and offers on the display device 16 are displayed.
  • According to the invention, therefore, one can use the waiting time of the customer, in which the customer is waiting anyway for the delivery of a purchased item, for example in the pharmacy, in the supermarket, in the department store or duty-free shop, to offer the customer very specific information or advertising messages that are specifically tailored to their gender, age group, prevailing weather conditions (or the mood of the day) on the day and season and possibly even on the individual mood and possible individual signs of illness. Such personalized advertising leads to a higher relevance for the customer and thus to a much greater attention potential than a standardized advertisement, which is shown to all customers regardless of their specific personal characteristics.
  • The data processing with regard to face recognition, which requires a high demand for computer resources, can of course also be outsourced from the local tablet PC to the Internet or into the "cloud".
  • In addition, data such as pollen count, hair dryer and other effects known as "bioweather" can be used in the selection of suitable advertising messages, information or product recommendations.
  • For example, when using loyalty cards, the customer may immediately be advised that he regularly requires certain medications and that the next delivery will be required in the foreseeable future. Of course, this reminder function is not limited to medicines, but may e.g. also be used for cosmetics and dietary products that the customer regularly consumes.
  • The data for the recommendations or product information based on the facial features can be created for each pharmacy specifically based on the customer base and the information from previous purchases. Then, the system can also "learn" through a neural network, provided that appropriate feedback from the POS system 32 or from the stand 20 receives.
