Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Vermeidung von Störbildern auf einer, mit einer Infrarotbeschichtung versehenen Windschutzscheibe eines Kraftfahrzeuges, bei welchem ein virtuelles Bild (33) von bildgebenden Lichtstrahlen (7) eines Head-up-Displays (1, 19) auf der Windschutzscheibe (23) erzeugt wird.
