Abstract

Description

  • Field of the invention
  • The invention relates to a hydraulic tensioner for a traction mechanism drive on an internal combustion engine, having a piston forming a hydraulic fluid space and having a volume reducer therein.
  • Such hydraulic tensioner can also be used on other engines as well as ancillary components of motor vehicles.
  • From the prior art, different clamping devices are known, such as from DE 10 2009 014 198 A1 in which a tensioning device for traction drives is described with a damping device.
  • Hydraulic clamping units for traction drives are also from DE 10 2006 055 467 A1 known. This document also describes the use of volume reducers.
  • There are also known volume reducer, which rest with her head on an inner region of a piston and there to seal against oil leakage. Nevertheless, a venting is to be made possible, which is why a blasted / grained surface is often present on the volume reducer in the head region or a slot extending transversely to the longitudinal direction is introduced on the surface in the head region.
  • Such tensioners with volume reducers can be used in traction drives that use chains or belts.
  • However, with volume reducers with blasted surface no defined venting is possible.
  • In volume reducers with a said transverse slot in the head area, a wear-related change in the ventilation or the volume flow is observed. In the currently known Volumenreduzierern a vent hole in the piston of greater than 0.8 mm in diameter is not possible, otherwise too much oil is displaced. This in turn means that a machining of the workpieces is necessary.
  • It is the object of the invention to avoid the disadvantages of the prior art and regardless of the wear and the size of the vent hole in the piston to ensure a long-lasting and uniform ventilation seen over the operation.
  • Disclosure of the invention
  • This object is achieved in a generic tensioner according to the invention in that the volume reducer has at least one extending in the axial direction of the volume reducer channel.
  • Advantageous embodiments are claimed in the subclaims and are explained in more detail below.
  • Thus, it is advantageous if the channel is designed as a closed-channel closed with an input and an output, and acts as a vent slot.
  • It is also advantageous if the outlet is present in an annular groove on a surface of a mushroom-shaped section of the volume reducer facing a vent bore in the piston and / or the inlet is present on an underside of the mushroom-shaped section of the volume reducer.
  • An advantageous embodiment is also characterized in that four channels distributed in the same angle are present around the center of the volume reducer.
  • It is also advantageous if the volume reducer has four slots that are continuous from the head area to the shaft. The slots can vary in number and shape.
  • Due to the arrangement of the slots, a change in the ventilation performance due to wear is excluded.
  • The volume reducer is pressed by the spring to the inner contour of the piston and therefore closes in a positive and positive manner. As a result, a larger vent hole in the piston can be realized, which in turn by z. B. extrusion is made without additional machining.
