Use of lanolin or woolwax comprising a proportion of wool wax acids increased in relation to natural proportion, for producing cosmetic and/or dermatological products, is claimed. Independent claims are included for: (1) preparation comprising, in addition to lanolin and/or woolwax, other components; (2) woolwax- or lanolin product; and (3) producing the lanolin or woolwax comprising the proportion of wool wax acids increased in relation to natural proportion, where the proportional increase takes place by concentration. Description

Lanolin ist die INCI-Bezeichnung von Wollwachs und auch die international gebräuchlichere. Da im Deutschen Arzneibuch (DAB) eine (traditionelle) Mischung von Wollwachs (65 Teile) mit Paraffinöl (15 Teile) und Wasser (20 Teile) ebenfalls als Lanolin bezeichnet wird, ist eine Verwechslung möglich. Deshalb ist im pharmazeutischen Bereich mehr der Begriff Wollwachs (Adeps lanae) und in allen anderen Bereichen mehr der Begriff Lanolin (Lanolinum) gebräuchlich. Auf Grund der bi-funktionellen Gruppen der vorkommenden Hydroxysäuren (ca. 32 % der Fettsäurefraktion) und der Dihydroxy-Alkohole (ca. 7 % der Alkoholfraktion) besteht Lanolin aus einem Gemisch von überwiegend langkettigen Estern, Di-Estern und Hydroxy-Estern. Bei deren Hydrolyse wurden bis jetzt 69 aliphatische Alkohole (C14-C36) und 6 Sterole (Cholesterol, Dihydrocholesterol, Lanosterol, Dihydrolanosterol, Agnosterol, Dihydroagnosterol) sowie 138 Fettsäuren (C8-C41), die Wollwachssäuren, isoliert. Nimmt man vereinfachend an, dass nur Monoesterverbindungen vorliegen, ergeben sich daraus schon über zehntausend mögliche Esterverbindungen. Die wirkliche Zahl ist nicht bekannt. In pharmazeutischem Wollwachs dürfen bis 0,5 % freie Fettsäuren enthalten sein (z.B. Europäisches Arzneibuch, Säurezahl < 1). Der Gehalt an freie Alkoholen (bis 12 %) ist nicht begrenzt.
