Wesentlich für das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren ist nun, dass die sich beim Siegelprozess ergebenden Siegelparameter mit (vorgegebenen) Sollwerten verglichen werden und im Falle einer (vorbestimmten) Abweichung eine vorzugsweise optisch hervorgehobene Fehlermeldung auf das Etikett gedruckt wird. Die Sollwerte und die maximalen Abweichungen werden dabei typischer Weise vom Hersteller der Siegeleinrichtung anhand einschlägiger Siegel-Normen ermittelt und in einem Speicher der Siegeleinrichtung abgespeichert.
