Abstract

The present invention relates to a decorative molded part, in particular a lining part for a motor vehicle, with a veneer layer (12) which is provided on the back with an injection-molded reinforcing layer (14) and on the visible side with an overmoulded transparent cover, and a method for producing a such decorative molding. To improve the durability of the decorative molding, the present invention proposes to provide a cover layer (10) on the transparent cover. In the process for producing a decorative molding according to the invention, plastic is injected into a gap (16) between the veneer layer (12) and the cover layer (10), which connects the two layers to one another.

Description

  • The present invention relates to a decorative molding with a veneer layer, which is provided on the back with a back-injected reinforcing layer and on the visible side with an over-molded transparent cover. Such decorative moldings come in particular as lining parts for a motor vehicle into consideration. Thus, the present invention relates in particular to a lining part for a motor vehicle.
  • Lining parts in this sense, for example, deposits in dashboards, covers the center console and covers, decorative moldings or flaps, for example, ashtrays inside the side doors.
  • A method for producing a decorative molding of the type mentioned is out JP 30-30922 A known. In this prior art, the back reinforcing layer is formed by injection molding a basically any plastic. Thereafter, a transparent cover is formed by overspraying on the visible side. The transparent cover can also be colored. Usually, the decorative molding is produced by means of two-component injection molding on a turning tool. In this case, the reinforcing layer is molded onto the back of the veneer layer in a station, while at the same time as the last step in the two-component injection mold, the transparent cover is molded on the visible side of the veneer layer.
  • In addition to the previously presented prior art, the applicant refers to the DE 43 01 444 C2 as well as the DE 41 24 297 A1 and the DE 41 22 412 A1 as relevant state of the art.
  • Lining parts in motor vehicles must meet very high aesthetic requirements. The decorative moldings must match the highly technical and aesthetic features of the vehicle. This consideration is also based on the generic method, which replaces a basically uneconomical approach, in which the veneer at least painted over on his face several times, sanded and repainted to protect the veneer layer against environmental influences. The painting and sanding causes three-dimensional designs can not be produced with the necessary accuracy; Through multiple sanding and recoating visible edges are lost.
  • Such visible edges can be easily produced by means of injection molding. The surface of the visible over-molding accordingly forms the outer surface of the decorative molding, which is visible in particular in the interior of the motor vehicle. For the preparation of the transparent cover PMMA is usually used.
  • However, it has been shown that this plastic is only insufficiently resistant to sunlight. Thus, the transparent cover turns yellow over time, which can not be tolerated.
  • The present invention seeks to remedy the above problem. and specify a decorative molding with a permanently good aesthetic impression and a method for its production.
  • In view of the device-related problem, the present invention provides a decorative molding having the features of claim 1.
  • The decorative molding according to the invention has on the transparent cover a cover layer. This cover layer forms the surface, d. H. the last visible side layer of the decorative molding usually from. The cover layer thus also forms the contact surface for the decorative molding in the installed state.
  • In this case, the cover layer is understood in particular to be an element which is formed from a film layer. As a film layer is for example any film layer of plastic, ceramic and / or glass into consideration. The film layer may have a print to achieve additional decorative effects. This printing is usually located on the inside of the cover layer. The cover layer forming film layer usually has a thickness of between 0.1 and 0.3 mm. Regularly a thickness of not more than 0.3 mm is to be preferred, since on the other hand unwanted mirror effects occur.
  • In view of the problem described above of a yellowing PMMA, the cover layer may be formed as a UV-light filtering film layer. In this preferred embodiment, the cover layer leaves hardly or no UV radiation, which causes yellowing of PMMA. Since the contact surface is formed by the cover layer in the decorative molding according to the invention, other transparent materials than PMMA for the formation of the cover are conceivable beyond. Rather, there are higher degrees of freedom in the selection of the material for forming the cover. It depends less on the surface properties of this over-sprayed layer in use. In the foreground are rather adhesion and wetting properties to the veneer layer on the one hand and to the inner surface of the cover layer on the other. In this case, the inner surface of the cover layer for improved adhesion with the overmolding with a bonding agent be provided, for example with a silane or silanol.
  • Depending on the positioning of the lining part and the prevailing there stress of the decorative molding on the surface, the top layer may also be a scratch-resistant plastic film.
  • Of course, it is possible to form the top layer in multiple layers to combine different technical effects, such as a scratch-resistant film layer for forming the contact surface of the decorative molding and provided underneath, UV-light filtering film layer, optionally together with a printed or otherwise decorated film layer special designs, designs, logos or other motifs or rapport.
  • In view of the procedural aspect of the underlying problem, the present invention proposes a method having the features of claim 6. The inventive method is based on the JP 30-30922 A As the closest prior art and proposes to inject the plastic forming the cover in a gap between the veneer layer and the cover layer. Provided above is focused on the injection, the injection can also be done in the manner of injection compression molding. In this process, the tool halves of the injection mold, which limit the cavity, closed, after already the plastic has been wholly or partially injected into the cavity. In the method according to the invention, in any case, the plastic forming the transparent cover is injected into a gap which is bounded on both sides by the layers, namely, on the one hand, the veneer layer and, on the other hand, the cover layer. The gap is regularly between 0.3 and 1.5 mm high; preferably between 0.7 and 0.9 mm. The injected plastic binds both layers together. The veneer layer is sealed at the top and thus made insensitive to environmental influences. The plastic fills the entire gap between the cover layer and the veneer layer, so that no bubbles or the like form. The top layer is connected over the entire surface of the injected plastic with the veneer layer.
  • Usually, working with thermoplastic material, d. H. heated plastic is injected molten into a colder injection mold. However, other methods for curing the transparent cover are conceivable, and thus also crosslinking plastics can be injected.
  • According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, with which in particular decorative moldings can be produced with high-precision abutting edges, the top layer is first inserted with dimensions in an injection mold for overmolding, which are larger than the dimensions of the finished decorative molding. When overmolding the cover layer is the subsequent finished decorative molding usually fully peripherally edge superior connected to the veneer part. After overmolding and demolding of the intermediate product from the injection mold, the cover sheet is trimmed. Only then is a decorative molding essentially made with the final dimensions.   • With a view to the most accurate positioning possible such that the contour of the top layer as closely as possible with the contour of a possibly formed by embossing three-dimensionally shaped preform veneer layer, it is proposed according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, at the top layer prior to insertion into the injection mold holding holes provided. These retaining holes are located at edge regions of the cover layer outside the dimensions of the finished decorative molding.
