Description
The invention relates to a coaxial electrical transmission element comprising an inner conductor with frequency-dependent transmission behavior, an outer conductor surrounding the inner conductor in the circumferential direction, and an insulating sleeve which is arranged between the inner conductor and the outer conductor, wherein the insulating sleeve is made of an electrically non-conductive plastic material and an inner side facing the inner conductor and an outer conductor facing the outside.
Such coaxial electrical transmission elements are used for the transmission of electrical high-frequency signals whose frequency can be up to about 10 GHz, some 100 MHz. In particular, the electrical transmission elements can form a passive high-frequency filter, for example a high-pass filter or a low-pass filter. In many cases, the inner conductor forms one or more concentrated capacitances by having at least one enlarged diameter lead portion followed by a reduced diameter lead portion. The inner conductor forms a signal line, via which the electrical high-frequency signals are transmitted, and the outer conductor forms a ground line, which shields the inner conductor to the outside and protects against external interference.
The insulating sleeve is usually made in known coaxial transmission elements of a plastic material, in particular of a polytetrafluoroethylene material, which is machined so that it has a smooth surface on its inside and on its outside. The smooth surface facilitates the assembly of the inner sleeve and the machining makes it possible to adapt the inner diameter and the outer diameter of the insulating sleeve to the dimensions of the inner conductor and the outer conductor.
Such coaxial electrical transmission elements have proven themselves in practice, but they do not have inconsiderable manufacturing costs.
Object of the present invention is to develop a coaxial electrical transmission element of the generic type such that it can be produced more cheaply.
This object is achieved in a coaxial electrical transmission element of the aforementioned type according to the invention that the insulating sleeve is designed as an injection molded part, the inside and / or outside is structured.
In the coaxial electrical transmission element according to the invention, the insulating sleeve is designed as an injection molded part, ie it is produced in an injection molding. Thereby, the manufacturing cost of the coaxial electrical transmission element can be considerably reduced. A subsequent machining of the insulating is not required. However, the production in an injection molding process restricts the selection of the possible plastic materials for the insulating sleeve. The plastic materials suitable for an injection molding process differ in their dielectric constant from the polytetrafluoroethylene materials commonly used. In order to counteract this different dielectric constant of injection-moldable plastic materials, without having to change the dimensions of the inner conductor and the outer conductor, the insulating sleeve used in the coaxial electrical transmission element according to the invention has on its inner side and / or on its outer side a structured surface. The insulating sleeve used according to the invention is thus not smooth on its inside and / or on its outside in departure from known insulating sleeves, but it has a macroscopically visible structure in the form of successive depressions in the axial direction and / or in the circumferential direction of the insulating sleeve surveys. It has been found that by providing a structured surface of the insulating sleeve, the electrical behavior of the coaxial electrical transmission element can be adapted with injection molded insulating sleeve to the electrical behavior of conventional coaxial electrical transmission elements made in the usual way from a polytetrafluoroethylene material insulating sleeve. This has the advantage that the polytetrafluoroethylene material can be replaced by a common injection-moldable plastic material, without the dimensioning of the inner conductor and / or the outer conductor must be changed. It can thus be used in the coaxial electrical transmission element according to the invention known from the prior art inner conductor and outer conductor whose dimensioning does not need to be changed. The use of the internally and / or externally structured insulating sleeve in the form of an injection molded part makes it possible to reduce the manufacturing costs of the coaxial electrical transmission element Use of known inner and outer conductors significantly reduce.
In order to simplify the assembly of the coaxial electrical transmission element according to the invention, it is advantageous if the inside of the insulating sleeve has a smooth surface and the outside of the insulating sleeve is structured. The smooth inner side facilitates the insertion of the inner conductor in the insulating sleeve, wherein the inner conductor sections may rest directly on the inside of the insulating without the risk that the insulating sleeve hooked or jammed. The outside of the insulating sleeve is provided in contrast to the inside with a structure having a plurality of successive elevations and depressions in the axial direction and / or in the circumferential direction.
Preferably, the insulating sleeve comprises on its outer side and / or on its inner side a plurality of depressions, which extend in the radial direction only over a fraction of the wall thickness of the insulating sleeve. The recesses consequently do not form openings in the insulating sleeve, so that no electrical discharge can form between the inner conductor and the outer conductor. The insulating sleeve thus forms a closed insulator between the inner conductor and the outer conductor.
The depth of the recesses arranged, for example, on the outside of the insulating sleeve is favorably at most 75% of the wall thickness of the insulating sleeve.
Preferably, the insulating sleeve on its outer side recesses which extend in the radial direction over a minimum of 20% and a maximum of 60% of the wall thickness of the insulating sleeve. It has been found that by providing such recesses for the coaxial transmission element, an electrical behavior can be achieved which, despite the use of the designed as an injection molded insulating sleeve is virtually identical to the electrical behavior of coaxial electrical transmission elements, the one of a polytetrafluoroethylene material have produced and machined insulating sleeve.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the insulating sleeve is made of a polystyrene material or of a polymer blend. Such plastic materials can be processed in a simple manner by conventional injection molding, whereby they obtain their structured surface by the injection molding, without a machining post-processing is required.
It is advantageous if the insulating sleeve forms on its outside a pattern that repeats at a distance of at least 0.1 mm and a maximum of 1.5 mm. The distance is in this case based on the middle of each other directly adjacent pattern. It has surprisingly been found that by providing a patterned surface in the form of repeating patterns whose spacing is at least 0.1 mm and at most 1.5 mm, an insulating sleeve made of an injection molding material can be provided, which in a coaxial electrical transmission element can easily replace an insulating sleeve made of a polytetrafluoroethylene material. In particular, can be achieved with a thus designed insulating substantially the same frequency-dependent transmission behavior of the coaxial electrical transmission element as with an insulating sleeve made of a polytetrafluoroethylene material with smooth inner and smooth outer side.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the outside of the insulating sleeve on a plurality of over the circumference of the insulating sleeve extending annular grooves. The annular grooves are preferably configured identically. In particular, it can be provided that the annular grooves are U-shaped. It is advantageous if the flanks of the annular grooves are aligned obliquely to each other, so that widen the annular grooves in the radial direction to the outside. This facilitates demolding of the insulating sleeve during injection molding.
The axial distance of mutually immediately adjacent annular grooves is conveniently at most three times the depth of the annular grooves. In this case, the distance between two directly adjacent annular grooves from center to center is understood as the axial distance.
The depth of the annular grooves is in a preferred embodiment of the
As an alternative to providing a plurality of annular grooves, in one embodiment of the invention a groove extends helically along the outside of the insulating sleeve. The axial distance between two immediately adjacent helices of the groove is preferably at most three times the groove depth. The axial distance here is the distance between two immediately adjacent slot helices from center to center.
It can also be provided that the insulating sleeve has longitudinal grooves extending in the axial direction. The longitudinal grooves are preferably arranged on the outside of the insulating sleeve.
The longitudinal grooves extend favorably over the entire length of the insulating sleeve.
In an advantageous embodiment, a plurality of longitudinal grooves are arranged uniformly distributed over the circumference of the insulating sleeve.
Bevorzugt sind sämtliche Längsnuten identisch ausgestaltet. Preferably, all longitudinal grooves are configured identically.
