Abstract

The wheel (1) has a brake (20) i.e. disk brake, arranged together with a wheel hub motor (10), where the wheel hub motor and the brake are cooled with cooling fluid i.e. cooling water. The cooling fluid is conducted through a brake caliper cooling passage of a brake caliper (25), a brake shoe cooling passage of a brake shoe or a brake disk cooling passage of a brake disk (22) of the brake. The brake disk cooling passage is attached to a cooling circuit of the wheel hub motor by insertion of a sharpening gasket or a sharpening clutch.

Description

  • The invention relates to a drive wheel with a wheel hub motor and a brake, which are cooled with a cooling fluid. The invention further relates to a motor vehicle with such a drive wheel.
  • From the international release WO 2007/022865 A1 and the U.S. Patent US 3,812,928 Drive wheels are known with a wheel hub motor, a transmission and a brake. The wheel hub motor, transmission and brake are arranged in an oil bath.
  • The object of the invention is to improve the braking effect in a drive wheel according to the preamble of claim 1 on.
  • The object is achieved in a drive wheel with a wheel hub motor and a brake, which are cooled with a cooling fluid, characterized in that the cooling fluid used for cooling the wheel hub motor is passed through at least part of the brake. Motor vehicles with wheel hub motors have advantages due to a direct power transmission from the wheel hub motor to the drive wheel. A disadvantage may be a dense package in the wheel, especially if a powerful disc brake is to be used. At the international publication WO 2007/022865 A1 and the U.S. Patent US 3,812,928 known drive wheels are the wheel hub motor and optionally the brake, at least partially, arranged outside the drive wheel. The inventive design of the drive wheel, at least a portion of the brake is forcibly cooled by the cooling fluid is passed through the at least one part of the brake through. As a result, the cooling effect of the brake can be significantly improved, in particular even if both the wheel hub motor and the brake are arranged completely within the drive wheel.   • A preferred embodiment of the drive wheel is characterized in that the brake comprises a caliper with at least one caliper cooling passage through which the cooling fluid used for cooling the wheel hub motor is passed. The caliper cooling passage extends, at least in part, near at least one rotating part of the brake. Preferably, a plurality of cooling channels extend through the caliper.
  • A further preferred embodiment of the drive wheel is characterized in that the brake comprises at least one brake shoe with at least one brake shoe cooling passage through which the cooling fluid used for cooling the wheel hub motor is passed. The brake is preferably designed as a disc brake with a brake disc which is partially disposed between two brake shoes. Preferably, at least one brake shoe cooling channel is arranged in each brake shoe. The brake shoe cooling channel extends, at least partially, preferably in the vicinity of the brake disk.
  • A further preferred exemplary embodiment of the drive wheel is characterized in that the brake comprises at least one brake disk with at least one brake disk cooling channel, through which the cooling fluid used for cooling the wheel hub motor is passed. The cooling fluid can be passed from the hub motor first through the caliper and then through the brake disc. The cooling fluid can also be introduced directly into the brake disc from the wheel hub motor.
  • Another preferred exemplary embodiment of the drive wheel is characterized in that the brake disk cooling channel is connected to a cooling circuit of the wheel hub motor with the interposition of at least one sliding seal or sliding clutch. The sliding seal or sliding coupling allows a transition of the cooling fluid between a fixed part of the wheel hub motor or the brake and a rotating part of the brake, in particular the brake disc.
  • A further preferred embodiment of the drive wheel is characterized in that for cooling a water-based cooling fluid is passed through at least part of the brake. The cooling liquid contains mainly water with suitable additives. The water-based cooling liquid has the advantage that it has a significantly lower viscosity or viscosity than oil. As a result, the flow properties, in particular compared to oil, significantly improved.
  • Another preferred embodiment of the drive wheel is characterized in that the cooling fluid is passed through the wheel hub motor for cooling. According to one essential aspect of the invention, the wheel hub motor and the brake have a common cooling circuit, which is forcibly flowed through, for example by means of a suitable cooling fluid pump, by the cooling fluid.
  • Another preferred embodiment of the drive wheel is characterized in that the wheel hub motor in the drive wheel is integrated. The wheel hub motor is preferably arranged completely within the drive wheel, in particular a rim of the drive wheel.
