Description

  • The invention relates to a device for separating the egg yolk from the protein of an open raw egg.
  • For separating the egg yolk from the egg whites of an open raw egg, a variety of devices are known per se.
  • For example, this describes DE 420 152 Such a device consisting of a cup which is formed above its bottom in the vicinity thereof with a part-annular slot. The content of the whipped raw egg is introduced into the cup. The egg white flows through the partially annular slot and can be collected for example in a container located under the cup.   • A device for separating the egg yolk from the egg whites of an open egg, for example, also describes the EP 1 733 666 A1 , This known device has a cup and a laterally projecting from the cup shell portion. The shell portion is formed with slit-shaped holes through which the egg whites exit while the yolk remains in the shell portion.

  • The invention has for its object to provide a device of the type mentioned above, which is simple in design and easy to handle, the separation of the egg yolk from the protein of an open raw egg is easy, reliable and safe possible.

  • The device according to the invention therefore does not make use of at least one slit-shaped opening through which the protein is intended to escape, but rather a retaining element for the egg yolk standing up from an edge section of the drip tray. The protein can flow off to the side next to the retaining element.
  • The retaining element can stand vertically upwards from the drip tray. It may be advantageous, however, if the retaining element encloses an angle with respect to the drip tray which is slightly smaller than 90 °, because then the egg yolk is reliably retained in the retaining element when the protein is dispensed from the drip tray.
  • In the apparatus according to the invention, the edge of the drip tray can be self-contained or open in the vicinity of the retaining element.
