Problem nach dem Stand der Technik und Aufgabe der ErfindungProblem of the prior art and object of the invention
The prior art mottling fibers have the problem that they can easily be readjusted by the impression of a fluorescent color. To do this, a counterfeiter prints the image of randomly distributed fibers onto a counterfeit document using a dye. Such counterfeits can be detected only with effort, for example with the aid of a microscope.
Another problem with prior art mica fibers is their incorporation in plastic-based documents, particularly in documents made by lamination of plastic films. With known methods, the laminating fibers are sprinkled on one of the films and thus give a random pattern. The problem here, however, is that the fibers, unlike papermaking, have no adhesion to the films unless they are laminated. As a result, it can be seen that a great many fibers are distributed through the production plants and thus incorporated into other products which are to contain no or other mottling fibers.
Therefore, the object of the invention is to provide mottled fibers, which are easy to verify, easy to apply even structured and especially in plastic documents can be integrated.
Beschreibung der Erfindung und bevorzugte AusführungsformenDescription of the invention and preferred embodiments
These objects are achieved by fluorescent mottled fibers according to claim 1, a mottled film according to claim 13, a document with fluorescent mottled fibers according to claim 18, a process for producing mottled fluorescent fibers according to claims 21 and 23, a process for producing a film with fluorescent mica fibers according to Claim 25 and a method for producing a document with fluorescent mottled fibers according to
The aforementioned objects are achieved according to the invention in that the mottled fibers contain at least two luminescent substances and have an adhesive.
The fluorescent mottled fibers according to the invention have a first and a second luminescent substance. The first luminescent substance emits first luminescent light under first excitation conditions and the second luminescent substance emits second luminescent light under second excitation conditions. Here, the first and the second excitation conditions are not identical, and the first and the second luminescent light differ spectrally. Furthermore, the mottled fibers at least partially consist of an adhesive.
An advantage of the fluorescent mottled fibers according to the invention consists in the integration facilitated by the adhesive in plastic-based documents and the increased security against counterfeiting by the distinguishable colors of the luminescent light under the first and second excitation conditions. Further, the adhesive results in a permanent bond between the mottled fibers and the document, so that mottled fibers according to the present invention can not be removed from a document, and thus a counterfeit document can not be faked.
In a preferred embodiment of the mottled fibers, these have at least a first partial area and at least one second partial area. The subregions are arranged side by side transversely to the fiber direction and preferably parallel to one another. For example, one portion forms the left half and the other the right half of the fiber, or one portion encloses the other portion, such as a lead in a cable encased in insulation. The at least one first portion consists of an adhesive. The at least one first partial region and / or the at least one second partial region is marked with the first luminescent substance, and the at least one first partial region and / or the at least one second partial region is marked with the second luminescent substance. Two sub-areas have the advantage that it can lead to a spatial separation of the different luminescent areas, which is visually easy to verify. Both luminescent substances can thus be present in the same and / or different subregions.
Here and below, the term "first sub-areas" is understood to mean areas which are preferably identical in terms of substance but spatially separated from one another. The same applies to the second and possibly third and other sections. Thus, all the first subregions preferably have the same material quality, which clearly distinguishes them from all second and other subregions. For example, a spun mica fiber may consist of at least two separate but interwoven filaments. Threads which are materially the same are regarded as equal subregions, for example as first subregions.
In a preferred embodiment of the mottled fibers, the first excitation conditions for exciting the first luminescent substance comprise light having wavelengths in the range from 380 to 300 nm. In particular, the first luminescent substance can be excited with UV-A and UV-B radiation, in particular 365 nm and 316 nm. With a suitable choice of materials or a near-surface introduction of the mottled fibers, excitation by means of UV-C radiation with wavelengths up to 200 nm, in particular 254 nm, can take place.
In a further preferred embodiment of the mottled fibers, the second excitation conditions for exciting the second luminescent substance comprise light having wavelengths in the range from 320 to 300 nm. In particular, the first luminescent substance can not be excited with UV-A but only with UV-B radiation, in particular not with 365 nm but only with 316 nm.
In a further preferred embodiment of the mottled fibers, the at least one first partial area encloses the at least one second partial area and optionally further partial areas. For example, the at least one second subregion forms a core, while the at least one first subregion encases this as a cladding, such as, for example, a cable in a cable is encased by an insulation.
In a further preferred embodiment of the mottled fibers, the at least one first partial region contains the first luminescent substance and the at least one second partial region contains the second luminescent substance.
In a further preferred embodiment of the mottled fibers, the at least one first partial region contains the first luminescent substance and the at least one second partial region contains the first and the second luminescent substance.
In a further preferred embodiment of the mottled fibers, these furthermore have at least one third subregion, wherein the at least one second subregion and the at least one third subregion are encased by the at least one first subregion. In this case, the at least one second and the at least one third subregion can be adjacent to one another or adjacent to one another or spaced apart from one another and separated from one another by the at least one first subregion.
By way of example, the at least one second subarea and the at least one third subarea may, as two cores, be enveloped by a shell from the at least one first subarea, comparable to a cable with two cables. It follows automatically that a plurality of second and / or third and optionally further sub-areas is conceivable. If the second subareas are labeled A and the third subregions are B, then the pattern ABA or the pattern ABAB for the individual strands in the mottled fibers can be obtained, for example, these three or four subsections in total consisting of a first, consisting of an adhesive Subarea are sheathed.
In a further preferred embodiment of the mottling fibers, the mottling fibers or at least the at least one first portion of the mottling fibers consist of an adhesive. The adhesive may be a hot melt adhesive or a reactive adhesive. For example, the hot-melt adhesive has a softening temperature of 50 to 200 ° C, preferably from 80 to 120 ° C, on. The reactive adhesive is for example an acrylate adhesive. The adhesive is preferably not tacky at room temperature. Thus, the mottled fibers can be well singulated during processing at room temperature.
In a further preferred embodiment of the mottling fibers, the luminescent substances are inorganic pigments. In particular, the luminescent substances may be rare earth-doped oxides, oxinates, sulfides, oxysulfides, phosphates or vanadates. In particular, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium and thulium are used for rare-earth doping. Examples which may be mentioned as possible pigments LUMILUX ® CD740 (red) and CD702 (green) from Honeywell. Pigments with a particle size of less than or equal to 10 μm, preferably less than or equal to 8 μm, and particularly preferably less than or equal to 6 μm, are advantageous. The inorganic pigments have a temperature stability which is above the softening temperature of the polymer used.
In a further preferred embodiment of the mottling fibers, the at least one second portion consists of polyamide (PA) or a polyamide copolymer. In particular, the polyamides PA12, PA6 and PA6.6 can be used. PA6 is formed by ring-opening polymerization from ε-caprolactam. PA6.6 ( Nylon® ) is prepared from hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid by polycondensation with dehydration. It is also possible to use polyethylene (PE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), cellulose and derivatives thereof, for example viscose or cellophane. However, polyamide is preferred because this material has the least interaction with the usual laser systems used in the personalization of documents. In particular, when PA is used, the document material is also blackened as desired by the laser beam in which areas there are mottled fibers.
The mottled fibers can be chosen differently with regard to their shape and geometry. For characterization, the length, the diameter and the cross-sectional shape of the mottled fiber are generally used. A typical length of mica fiber is in the range of 2 to 25 mm, preferably about 6 mm. The diameter is for example in the range of 20 to 150 microns, and preferably in the range of 50 to 60 microns. The cross-sectional shape is preferably round (circular) or oval.
Furthermore, the invention relates to a film according to the invention comprising fluorescent mica fibers, on the surface of which the mottled fibers are attached by means of the glue of the mottling fibers. The film is preferably a plastic film, which is preferably made of polycarbonate (PC), in particular bisphenol A polycarbonate, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), their derivatives such as glycol-modified PET (PETG), polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), polyvinyl chloride (PVC ), Polyvinyl butyral (PVB), polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), polyimide (PI), polyvinylalcohol (PVA), polystyrene (PS), polyvinylphenol (PVP), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), especially thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), Teslin ® and their derivatives. Furthermore, it can be a coextruded film and other hybrid materials containing, inter alia, the aforementioned materials. In addition, the film may also consist of paper.
In a further preferred embodiment of the film comprising the mottled fibers, the mottled fibers are spatially structured on the surface of the film. For example, the mottled fibers are applied to the foil in the form of strips, so that there are strip-shaped regions on the foil in which mottled fibers are present, and strip-shaped regions in which no mottled fibers are present. Further, the areas having mottled fibers may take the form of coats of arms, seals or other patterns, for example.
In a further preferred embodiment of the film comprising the mottled fibers, at least two different types of fluorescent mottled fibers are attached to the surface of the film.
In a further preferred embodiment of the film comprising the mottled fibers, the various types of mottled fibers according to the invention are arranged in different spatial structures. For example, the mottled fibers are applied to the foil in the form of strips so that there are first strip-shaped regions on the foil in which there is a first sort of mottling fibers, there are second strip-shaped regions on the foil in which a second kind of mottling fibers are present and third strip-shaped regions in which no mottled fibers are present. Further, the regions having a particular type of mottled fibers may take the form of coats of arms or seals, for example, while the other species may be applied flat, for example.
Furthermore, the invention relates to a document with fluorescent mottled fibers according to the invention. The document is preferably a value or security document. Examples of value or security documents are passport, identity card, driver's license, visa, check and credit card, company ID card, proof of eligibility, membership card, gift and shopping voucher as well as token, banknote, check, stamp and tax stamp. In particular, the document has a laminated card body. Examples of documents with a laminated card body are especially check and credit card, as well as the German driver's license.
The inventive method for producing fluorescent mottled fibers according to the invention comprises extruding at least one first polymer through at least a first spinneret to form at least a first portion of the mottled fibers and optionally simultaneously extruding at least one second polymer through at least one second spinneret to form at least a second portion of the mottling fibers. The at least one first polymer contains a first luminescent substance which emits first luminescent light under first excitation conditions. As the first and / or second polymer, an adhesive is selected. In addition, the first polymer and / or the second polymer contain a second luminescent substance which emits second luminescent light under second excitation conditions, wherein the first and the second excitation conditions are not identical and the first and the second luminescent light differ spectrally. When only a first polymer is extruded, the first polymer contains the first and second luminescent substances. For example, when a first polymer and a second polymer are extruded, the first polymer may contain the first luminescent substance and the second polymer may contain the second luminescent substance, or the first polymer may contain the first luminescent substance and the second polymer may contain the first and second luminescent substances.
In a further preferred embodiment of the method for producing fluorescent mottled fibers, the at least one second subregion is encased by the at least one first subregion. This can be achieved, for example, by a suitable arrangement of the spinnerets familiar to the person skilled in the art. For example, six first spinnerets may be disposed around a second spinnerette.
In a further preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention, fluorescent mottled fibers are produced in a first step by extruding at least one second polymer through at least one spinneret to form at least a second subregion and in a subsequent second step the at least one second subregion comprising at least a first subregion of a first Polymers encased. The first polymer in this case is an adhesive. The at least one second polymer contains a second luminescent substance which emits second luminescent light under second excitation conditions. Furthermore, the first polymer and / or the second polymer contain a first luminescent substance which emits first luminescent light under first excitation conditions, wherein the first and the second excitation conditions are not identical and the first and the second luminescent light differ spectrally. For example, mottled fibers can be produced by a known method in the first method step. These are encased in the second step with an adhesive which contains the first luminescent substance. The Sheathing can be done for example by dip coating.
Üblichweise beträgt die Länge einer Melierfaser etwa 6 mm.The mottled fibers produced by one of the aforementioned methods can be cut to a desired length in a further step, if this is not already done during the production, but the mottled fibers are produced as continuous thread. Usually the length of a mottled fiber is about 6 mm.
The method according to the invention for producing a film with fluorescent mottled fibers comprises providing the film, applying fluorescent mottled fibers according to the invention to the film and fixing the fluorescent mottling fibers on the film.
In a preferred embodiment of the method for producing the film, the mottled fibers are fixed by means of heat and / or UV radiation. For example, after the application of the fluorescent mottled fibers, the film is passed under an IR emitter or passed through a roller laminator so that the mica fiber adhesive softens or liquefies, thus fixing the mottled fibers to the film. Alternatively, after the application of the mottled fibers, the film may be placed in an oven which heats the film to a temperature which is above the softening temperature of the glue but below the softening temperature of the film. Alternatively or additionally, after the application of the mottling fibers, the film can be conducted under a UV emitter in order to activate the reactive adhesive of the mottling fibers and thus to achieve the fixation of the mottling fibers on the film.
In a further preferred embodiment of the method for producing the film, the mottling fibers are applied only to at least a first partial area of the film. For example, the mottled fibers are applied in strips to the film. This can be done for example by spraying, spreading or printing. The mottled fibers can also be applied, for example, in the form of coats of arms or seals. This can be done by stamping or printing.
In a further preferred and the above-described alternative embodiment of the method for producing the film, the mottled fibers are applied over the entire surface of the film. However, the mottled fibers are only fixed on at least a first part surface of the film. This takes place, for example, via locally varying irradiation with IR or UV light, so that only mottled fibers are fixed in the at least one first partial area on the film. The mottled fibers which have not been fixed are subsequently removed from the film, for example by inverting the film or by blowing off or sucking off the unfixed mottling fibers.
In a further preferred embodiment of the method for producing the film, two types of mottling fibers are applied to the film. The first type of mottled fibers are applied to at least a first portion of the film and a second type of mordant fibers are applied to at least a second portion of the film. The first and second varieties of mottled fibers differ. In particular, the two varieties have different fluorescences, so that they can be easily recognized and distinguished in a visual control under UV excitation. Further, the first and second varieties of mottled fibers may also differ in the geometry of the fibers. For example, they may have a different length, shape and / or a different diameter. Likewise, the first and second varieties of mottled fibers may also differ only by one forensic feature added to one type, for example an up-conversion phosphor, so that this difference can only be observed in a specially equipped laboratory.
In a further preferred embodiment of the method for producing the film, the at least one first partial area and the at least one second partial area form a pattern. Examples of such patterns are coats on a substrate, wherein the coat of arms consists of first partial surfaces with a first color and the background of second partial surfaces with a second color. Another example of a pattern is the value on a banknote. The at least one second subarea may include or surround the at least one first subarea or vice versa. However, the at least one first and the at least one second partial surface are not identical. This is the case, for example, if the first partial surface comprises the entire surface of the film and the at least one second partial surface only a part of the surface, for example in the form of a coat of arms. For example, the first partial areas may be a subset of the second partial areas, so that the coat of arms results from the mixture of the first and the second color on a background of the second color.
The method according to the invention for the production of a document with fluorescent mottled fibers comprises the gathering of at least one film according to the invention comprising mottled fibers and optionally at least one further film and lamination of the collected films.
In a preferred embodiment of the method for producing the document, at least one document is cut or punched out of the laminate after lamination. This is particularly preferred when the laminate is a so-called multiple benefit. From a multiple use at least two documents (benefits) can be isolated, for example, cut or punched, be.
