Besonders vorteilhaft ist es, wenn das Gewinde ein sogenanntes bekanntes und übliches UNF-Gewinde ist. Das Meßmittel selbst kann unterschiedliche Längen aufweisen, die beispielsweise 5, 10 oder 20 mm oder ähnliche Längen betragen. Somit ist eine Messung in verschiedenen Eintauchtiefen möglich.
