Description

  • The invention relates to a display device for displaying and setting parameters according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a display device is known from DE 203 00 256 U1 known.
  • Known automation systems or devices are modularly constructed from a central unit, communication couplers and expansion modules, the central unit having display and setting means, for example for the setting of parameters and for the visualization of operating and error states.
  • For the adjustment of the parameters, for example for address or channel settings, usually mechanical coding switches are provided, whose functionality is limited by mechanical stresses.
  • For the operator guidance of the automation device, the central unit further comprises display means, which enable the operation of the automation device by means of plain text displays and assigned labeled keys. The display form of text and assigned text-labeled keys has a high complexity, whereby the operation of the automation device is difficult.
  • For the visualization of operating and fault conditions, in addition to the plain text displays, also labeled lamps, preferably light emitting diodes (LED), or LED seven-segment displays are provided. LED or liquid displays are for example from the DE 88 00 716 U1 known.
  • From the DE 203 00 256 U1 a display and user interface of the type mentioned for an HMI device for observing and operating a technical process is known which brings by means of a display element process messages, dynamic process overview images or measured values for display. Error messages, as claimed in claim 1 of our application, are not provided.
  • In the DE 44 17 434 A1 is a parameterization and diagnostic module with function keys for confirmation of inputs and a keyboard for entering numerical values and commands that are displayed by means of an LCD display.
  • Due to the use of the plurality of components such as coding switches, light emitting diodes and LED seven-segment displays, the currently used display devices are associated with relatively high costs.
  • The invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a display device of the type mentioned for running as a central unit device of an automation system, whereby the aforementioned disadvantages are overcome and which in particular cost-effective display and adjustment of parameters and operating conditions of the automation system or device allows.
  • This object is achieved by a display device having the features specified in claim 1. Advantageous embodiments are specified in further claims.
  • The invention accordingly proposes a display device for an electronic device for displaying and setting parameters, setting values, operating states and error messages, in particular for a device of an automation system designed as a central unit.
  • The display device according to the invention comprises a liquid crystal display for displaying the parameters, setting values, operating states and error messages of the automation system. The liquid crystal display, which preferably has a yellow-green background for a clear and highly visible display of the information, cooperates with an input keyboard for inputting the setting values and parameters, for acknowledging the error messages as well as for further display means, preferably light-emitting diodes, for status displays of the automation system ,
  • The liquid crystal display, the input keyboard and the other display means are arranged on the front side of the device.
  • In one embodiment of the display device according to the invention, the liquid crystal display designed as a numerical display comprises additional display fields, which are preferably designed as light-emitting light-emitting diodes and indicate the communication between the central unit and a bus connected thereto.
  • In a further embodiment of the display device according to the invention additional pointer elements (cursors) are arranged on the liquid crystal display, which are preferably designed as arrows, and are provided for a feasible by means of the input keyboard selection of different field buses. The respective pointers are selected by means of the input keyboard.
  • Channel settings and / or address settings for the devices of the automation system can be carried out by means of the interaction of liquid crystal display, also called LCD display, and input keyboard.
  • In a further development of the display device according to the invention the input of a password protection is provided by means of the liquid crystal display and the associated input keyboard, which in particular prevents an unauthorized change of set values.
  • With the display device according to the invention, the display of information is extended to the effect that a larger amount of information, in particular error conditions, can be displayed in a simple manner without a complex text display and error messages displayed on the LCD display can be acknowledged by means of the provided input keyboard.
