Man
Photographic lens It is known to use thin lenses,
whose entrance pupil coincides with the objective itself, not on the astigmatic one
Correct errors. First of all, astigmatic correction is required
a term for which the sine condition is not fulfilled, d. H. after the Bereckschen
Designation -5'B / Ö, and secondly, a distance between this link and the
Entrance pupil. The Petzval lens is constructed in this way, which consists of two

As is well known, the Petzval lens is characterized by a very good correction of the
Astigmatism and a high aperture ratio. For this, the Petzval sum is at
especially big for this lens. The second collecting link has a very shortening effect
on the focal length, whereby the aperture of the overall system compared to the aperture
of the foreleg alone is increased in the same proportion. On the other hand, however, sets
the positive refractive power of the hind limb noticeably increases the Petzval sum, what
when the astigmatism is eliminated, the result is a considerable curvature of the image. Man
but can make the second term dispersive and then has next to the astigmatic one
Correction is also a possibility to reduce the Petzval sum. This as

A system has become known from US Pat. No. 2,559,881,
that of a positive front link and a weak, designed as an auxiliary link
Hind limb, the refractive power of which can be positive, negative or zero,
so that its deflection can be used to correct the astigmatism.
The positive link should preferably be a cemented doublet. That means
only that the front link can be split in a known manner.
Man
The invention consists in designing the front link as a telesystem
and to render the second member located at the mentioned distance without refractive power. Man
uses the deflection of the rear part without refractive power for correction
of astigmatism; In particular, this link can be made up of several individual lenses
Put them together and reduce the Petzval sum by choosing the glass. As a result of that
the front section is designed as a telesystem, d. that is, that between its collecting part
and the negative part is inserted with a corresponding distance, it becomes a shortening
the overall length of the overall system is achieved; each of these two parts can also be in turn
be composed of several lenses.
According to the invention, one has the possibility, firstly, of the system being astigmatic
to correct without losing the aperture through the posterior segment as with the
Telephoto lens or that the Petzval sum increases as with the Petzval lens, and secondly
to shorten the length of the entire system so that the length of the foremost lens vertex
up to the focal point is noticeably smaller than the focal length.
How the powerless rear member is carried out in detail is
irrelevant. It can be cemented or unsealed, or a simple meniscus
be composed of two or three lenses.
