Description
Device for determining the location of cable faults with the help of an alternating test current with audible frequency components The invention relates to a device for Determination of the location of cable faults with the aid of an alternating test current with audible Frequency components and an electroacoustic one inductively coupled to the cable Display device.
There are various methods for determining the location of faults in cables has been developed. So z. B. in the Wurmbach process for armored lead-sheathed cables at the end of the cable via a switch and a measuring instrument, if necessary via a Ballast resistor, a DC battery connected to the jacket, the The circuit is then closed via the fault location. Using a galvanometer will the direction of the current flowing in the manti is determined and carried through. multiple measurements the fault location is limited. It is also known to use the To burn out flaws by a strong current surge, these are measurement results however, it is not always clear, so that several measuring points often have to be created. Particularly disadvantageous wi. The fact that at each measuring point in the case of cables laid underground, these were first dug up. Need to become.
In another known method, the conductor is with a. high-tension, low-power, audio-frequency alternating current and the Conductor for faults with the help of the search coil of an electromagnetic locator and listened to their location. The disadvantages of this method are particularly evident when if the cables are shielded with iron tape in lead sheaths, and then, if the contact resistance at the fault location itself is very high. The shield with iron tape causes a strong weakening of the force field emitted by the conductor. The jacket carries additional extraneous currents because of the periodicity of the alternating current with their harmonics can easily be in the audible frequency range, and if several lines are laid in the same jacket, it is susceptible to failure During the process, it is often no longer possible to localize the fault location. With high resistance The test current source must be faulty in order to overcome the high contact resistance apply high voltages and also a; enough powerful power available to ensure eavesdropping.
As the usual circuits for generating audio-frequency alternating voltages usually consist of an oscillator with electron tubes, which are high-impedance in such Cases can only achieve the required high levels of performance with difficulty, could the above-mentioned burning out of such flaws only with additional, high-power devices.
Frequency multiplier circuits are used for signaling and remote control used, in which a multiplication of the network frequency, z. B. on the ninth or fifteenth harmonic statically foul a saturated three-phase capacitor is achieved.
The object of the invention is to address the disadvantages of the listed fault location methods to be eliminated in such a way that the advantages of the audio frequency method are preserved remain, but the burning out of high-resistance faults without additional Devices can be carried out. In addition, better audibility should be achieved. The invention is based on the idea that a cable to be tested Test current so high amperage is sent that the resistance of a high-ohmic Defect point is greatly reduced in each case.
An easier audibility of the test alternating current can thereby be achieved that it has a characteristic deviating from the usual sinusoidal shape. In order to solve the problem posed, according to the invention, a signal and Remote control systems of known frequency triples in the form of a five-legged, heavily saturated three-phase transformer, primarily in star connection is fed from a three-phase network of normal nominal frequency and worse on the secondary side a parallel capacitor of this type and a series inductor of this type Saturation connected to the cable is that a touchstone with a harmonic nine times the network frequency. A periodic one Interrupt of the test alternating current causes an additional better audibility and takes place in such a way, that the parallel capacitor using. a switch in series with it can be switched up and down periodically. Here the mains voltage becomes the audio frequency Supply of the cable used so that as high a power as required to reduce the resistance in the case of high-resistance faults. greatly reduced by resonance tuning of the parallel capacitor with a subsequent choke and the cable capacitance can be provided without any difficulty. The good audibility of the test alternating current is guaranteed by the fact that it is tripled by a frequency in the form of a five-legged, highly saturated three-phase transformer with a secondary side attached parallel capacitor together with an inductance in series with a strong harmonic of nine times the network frequency is provided. By. this in the secondary circuit the switching elements located, the sinusoidal shape of the test alternating current is strongly distorted, so that the test current can be distinguished acoustically from sinusoidal external currents with mains frequency is given. The distinctness is made by periodic interruption the test alternating current is additionally increased.
By the device according to the invention it is achieved that both the tron-frequency supply of the cable is ensured and at the same time with a The test current is so strong that massive errors such as those in high-voltage cables are produced with a strong cross-section or high resistance Defects in also shielded Cables that can be located.
