Abstract

In a method for producing an ampoule (4) for a needleless injection device, a blank with a pot-shaped area (3) and a closed bottom (10) is first produced in a tool mold. After removing the blank from the mold, an opening (12) is made in the base (10) by means of a laser beam. The ampoule (4) produced by the method has a particularly high level of accuracy.

Description

The invention relates to a method for producing egg ner ampoule for a needleless injection device with a chamber for receiving a substance to be injected and with an opening that has a pot-shaped area the ampoule in a suitably designed tool form is produced.

One method of making such an ampoule is known for example from WO 93/23225. Here who which the chamber and the lateral boundaries of the public made in one step in the mold. A first molded part of the tool mold protrudes into a second Molding into it. The first molded part forms the chamber and has a tip to create the side boundary the opening. Has a recess in the second molded part in the assembled state of the mold to the tip Narrow distance. In a subsequent production the ampoule is injection molded between plastic introduced the molded parts and the wall of the Am generated. Plastic gets between the Tip of a molded part and the recess and forms a hat-like cover of the opening. After removal the hat-like cover is removed from the ampoule blank cut and thus the opening formed by the tip exposed.

The disadvantage of this method is that the generation especially very small openings is very difficult  and the tip of a molded part when the Plastic in the mold can be damaged.

The problem underlying the invention is a method of the type mentioned in such a way that with Ampoules manufactured using this method are particularly high Show accuracy.

This problem is solved according to the invention in that in the mold first a blank with the pot area and a closed floor then the opening in the bottom of the pot-shaped Component is incorporated.

Due to this design, the tool shape requires Manufacture of the ampoule with no special tip small cross-section corresponding to the opening. Since in the first step essentially only the wall the chamber is manufactured, the tool shape can be special be designed to be stable. A warping of the tool form when the material is introduced can therefore be formed Avoid fold. The with the inventive method Manufactured ampoules therefore have a particularly high Ge accuracy on. To further increase the accuracy of the ampoules manufactured with the method according to the invention bears the temporal separation of the production of the side Wall of the opening of the manufacture of the floor of the Am belive because of material shrinkage or a possible Heat distortion in the manufacture of the cup-shaped component does not affect the shape and size of the opening to have. The tool shape can be, for example, Polycar bonat an injection mold as the material for the ampoule his. Alternatively, with appropriate materials For the ampoule, a mold can be used as a mold The opening can have several separate inputs have individual openings. The cross section of the opening or  the individual openings can be round or one of them have a different shape.

For example, the opening could be drilled. to further increase the accuracy of the fiction However, it carries the ampoule manufactured according to the method at when generating the opening in the laser drilling process he follows. This laser drilling process allows which create particularly small openings without wear. Furthermore, drilling using a La serstrahls particularly easily with several individual openings Create almost any cross-section and shape.

To further increase the accuracy of the invented ampoules manufactured according to the method of the invention, if the floor is in the area of the opening to be created is ground. Especially those in the laser drilling process manufactured opening has a particularly high Accuracy in their shape and cross-section.

The opening could be in, for example, with the laser beam the floor melted or burned. in particular special plastics can, however, simply be used Cold work ablation when creating the opening a laser beam from a bucket laser with a wave length of approximately 248 nm is projected onto the floor.

The required for a needleless injection device che cross section of the opening can be according to another Ren advantageous development of the invention simple adjust if for an intended opening of unused a laser beam with a diameter of 180 µm 100 µm is projected onto the floor.

The Am pullen have a particularly long lifespan when  to manufacture the blank, first a glass melt into a mold designed as a mold is brought and when the glass melt in the mold cools down until it solidifies.

The invention permits numerous embodiments. to there is a further clarification of their basic principle of shown in the drawing and will be below wrote. This shows in

Fig. 1 a first step of the inventive method for manufacturing a cup-shaped member for an ampoule,

Fig. 2 shows the cup-shaped component of FIG. 1 in a grinding process step,

Fig. 3, the creation of an opening in the pot-shaped component.

Fig. 1 shows a tool mold 1 , for example an injection mold, a mold or a press mold for generating a blank 2 with a cup-shaped area 3 for an ampoule 4 shown in Fig. 3 of a needleless injection device. To manufacture the cup-shaped region 3 of the blank 2 , a bolt-shaped part 5 and a cup-shaped part 6 are brought into each other at a distance from each other. A third molded part 7 seals the bolt-shaped molded part 5 against the cup-shaped molded part 6 . This third molded part 7 also forms a Ge thread 8 of the blank 2nd A collar 9 is between the third molded part 7 and the cup-shaped molded part 6, he testifies. In the casting process or in the injection molding process, a material, for example polycarbonate or glass, is introduced into the mold 1 after the molded parts 5-7 have been assembled. After the material has hardened, the mold 1 can be dismantled and the blank 2 removed. The cup-shaped area 3 of the blank 2 has a closed bottom 10 .

Fig. 2 shows the blank 2 after removal from the embodiment shown in Fig. 1 in a mold 1 Schleifver drive, in which the outer region of the bottom 10 of the crude is astride 2 machined by means of an abrasive body 11. As a result, unevenness in the material is removed.

In a last step shown in FIG. 3, an opening 12 is worked into the bottom 10 of the blank 2 . The opening 12 has a diameter of approximately 180 μm, for example. For this purpose, a laser beam with a diameter of 100 µm, generated by a pail laser 13 with a wavelength of 248 nm (KrF), is used. The laser beam is directed onto the base 10 of the blank 2 via a mirror 14 . A mask 15 with an octagonal cross section is provided for an exact adjustment of the laser beam. After the generation of the opening 12 , the ampoule 4 can be used in an injection device, not shown here. Such injection devices are described for example in the applications WO 98/15307 or in the as yet unpublished DE 199 55 201 or in PCT / DE 00/03953 by the applicant. The cup-shaped area 3 of the ampoule 4 forms a chamber 16 for receiving a substance to be injected.
