Abstract

A plug element (2) is inserted into a soft shell (1) which fits into the auditory canal. The plug element (2) is provided with a central bore (6) for ventilation and for the insertion of a cylindrically shaped filter (8). Filters (8) are available in different versions, to be differentiated by their color and prepared to let only a certain type and/or level of noise invade the inner ear. One type of filter (8), particularly suitable for being used by a musician or a disc-jockey, offers a specific linear noise absorption and can be attached to the device (2) with a click-on mechanism (10). A small handle (4) facilitates insertion and removal.

Description

The invention relates to an insertable in the ear canal Hearing protection that is customizable and for different Areas of application is applicable.

Three basic types of hearing protection are known:

1. Ear muffs with a strap

You will be with the strap over your head, neck or un worn on the chin. The capsules are usually like this great that they cover the ears completely. Carried these are in very noisy environments such as construction, workshop etc. The main drawbacks are the voluminous shape, the disabilities when wearing headgear or even aesthetic reasons z. B. musicians or performers Artists. Discomfort when worn for long periods (Headache, sweating) as well as the large volume and the ge more disadvantages are important. Such hearing protection is described for example in PCT / US 98/09429.

2. Pre-made ear plugs

These seal the ear by joining the ear canal equalize the ear with light to medium pressure tight. Pressure-sensitive ears can be worn with long stretches times with slight pressure marks, uncomfortable wearing comfort or even react pain. The plugs are usually made of foam or soft plastic. switch and malleable plugs are usually put together with the fingers rolled up and stuck in the ears where it can be heard adjust gear. Mushroom-like plugs, cones etc. are in the Usually made of soft plastic (with one or more mem branen) made in different sizes. This ear Plugs dampen very much, but they also convey a "dull" listening experience, d. H. the sound becomes dull and hollow. High frequencies are attenuated more than that  Deep. Such plugs are also preserved with filter systems Lich, that cause the volume to be reduced. In as a rule, these plugs equipped with filters are rela tiv large, stand out from the ear and therefore good visible. Pre-made ear plugs are for example in PCT / NL 97/00692 or EP 0 955 026 A1.

3. Custom-made hearing protection earmolds

The custom-made hearing protectors will turn your ear Imprints of the wearer taken and from them ear molds Acrylic, silicone etc. produced (EP 0 976 372 A2). prepared holes, conditions for ventilation and for the absorption of the various fil ter are attached to it. Color coding or Markers to differentiate between left and right are necessary. These hearing protectors are used wherever this must be worn for several hours a day. The wearers of these hearing protectors are hardly hindered, these systems are usually very durable and long-lasting and can be cleaned by yourself. One downside this system is the custom-made ear mold, d. H. the carrier usually has to make an effort in a specialist shop and can then expect a longer delivery time, so like the expensive manufacture of the same.

The object of the invention is to create an individual quick and inexpensive adjustment of hearing protection to allow for high wearing comfort.

According to the invention the object is solved by the features of claim 1. Design features are described in the sub-claims 2 to 7 .

In the following, the invention is explained in two exemplary embodiments and in FIGS. 1 to 6.

A first embodiment is shown in FIGS. 1 to 4.

Figs. 1 and 2 show a perspective view of a hearing protector according to the invention.

For this purpose, a soft shell is manufactured in 4 different sizes, whereby only the external dimensions change, but the internal dimensions for the ear-plug 2 remain unchanged. This soft shell is made of soft, skin-friendly foam. It can be easily deformed with the fingers and then adapts optimally to the ear canal without creating pressure points (memory effect). This soft shell is equipped with an integrated wax guard 5 , which prevents the filters from becoming clogged and their effectiveness diminishing. A sticker 4 made of clear plastic is also attached to the soft shell, which allows hearing protection to be removed very easily from the auditory canal. In the event of contamination or soft shells damaged by use, they can be replaced very easily and at low cost. There is no need to clean them.

The plastic body used as the inner part (ear plug) corresponds approximately to the shape of an ear canal. Such an ear plug 2 is shown in FIG. 3. The dimensions and shape are selected so that in most cases it fits into an ear canal without problems and no distinction between left and right is necessary. As can be seen from the sectional drawing in FIG. 4, this plastic part contains a continuous bore 6 for receiving damping filters 7 . This bore 6 also ensures good ventilation in the inner ear. Because of the comfort is significantly increased. The filters 7 are designed so that different attenuations are achieved with different designs. Bores of different lengths and diameters, shown in the sectional drawing Fig. 4, effect a corresponding damping. The filters 7 are identical in their outer dimensions but in order to differentiate them in different colors. A color applies to a specific damping value. This enables individual adaptation to the needs. The sound inlet opening 3 on the ear plug 9 is provided with a sieve-like opening. This prevents contamination and thereby the effect of the filter 7 used .

A second embodiment is shown in FIGS. 5 and 6. This filter system is used for musicians, disco and concert visitors. With the damping filter 8 , a linear damping is achieved as possible, ie the Ge noises are quieter and therefore not perceived as dull. Different damping can be achieved with different types of filters.

The external dimensions of these filters 8 are always the same, since a uniform attachment can be chosen. The filters contain a snap ring on their body, which is designed like a push button. This makes it very easy to couple them to the ear plug 9 . For this purpose, the shape of the ear plug 9 is changed so far that the filter 8 can be attached to it. The counterholder (push-button counterpart) is formed in the plastic part as a snap 10 and is placed so that it is an integral part. In this version, no additional part is necessary. The sealing ring 11 placed in a recess provided for this ensures reliable tightness between the filter 8 and ear plug 9 . The system is self-contained and therefore redundant.
