Im Inneren des Elektroinstallationsgerätes ist ein Messwandler 3 so angebracht, dass er die Durchsteck­ öffnung 2 umschließt. Das den elektrischen Leiter 10 umgebende Magnetfeld induziert im Messwandler einen magnetischen Fluss, welcher durch eine Sekundärbeschaltung 4 abgegriffen und der Verstärkerschaltung 5 zugeführt wird. Das in der Verstärkerstufe 5 aufbereitete Signal 6, welches proportional dem Strom im elektrischen Leiter ist, wird dem Mikrokontroller 7 zugeführt. Im Mikrokontroller wird dieses Messsignal ausgewertet. Über eine Busankopp­ lung 8 mit Anschlussstelle 9 meldet der Mikrokontroller 7 den Messwert auf das nachgeschaltete Bussystem der Gebäu­ desystemtechnik. Des weiteren hat der Mikrokontroller die Möglichkeit Steuerbefehle auf das Bussystem auszugeben in Abhängigkeit von einstellbaren Softwareparametern wie z. B. Schwellwertüber- oder -unterschreitungen.
