Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the production of wrapping paper for smokable materials, especially cigarette paper with high utility value. The object of the invention is to find a method by which wrapping paper for smokable materials can be produced, which has the required mechanical and flow properties and excellent burn-off and very good taste characteristics. This is achieved by mixing 0.1 to 45% by weight of glass fibers based on the total pulp content of the fiber or / and pulp suspension. The pulp has from 82 to 98 Schopper-Riegler and a water retention capacity of 140 to 260%. 80 to 95 Schopper-Riegler and a water retention capacity of 100 to 240% can be measured on the finished paper stock. The average diameter of the glass fibers is up to 0.008 mm, their length 0.1 to 5 mm. The glass fibers can also contain 50 to 99.9% ZrO2 in addition to the usual components.

The invention relates to a process for the production of wrapping papar door smokable materials, especially cigarette paper with high utility value.
Charakteristik dar bekannten technischen LosungenCharacteristic of known technical solutions
High-quality wrapping papers for smokable materials, in particular Zigc save papers with a sheet-weighed mass between 12 and 3Qg / rrr are today highly porous, but without visible holes soin, so ui by sufficient air supply in the mainstream smoke. To be able to reduce the proportion of toxic smoke compounds as far as possible. This requires a homogenous leaf structure, which ensures the necessary mechanical and s'.romungstethnic properties of the paper, as well as good burn-off and taste characteristics in connection with the smokable material and a high opacity.
B. Flach», Hanf, Sisal), Gräter (z.B. Esparto) sowie Nadel- und Laubhölzer. For the production of cigarette papers, fibers based on bast and leaf fibers (eg flat, hemp, sisal), grazers (for example esparto) and coniferous and hardwoods are mainly used today.
All these cellulose-containing fibrous materials have the disadvantage that the achievable porosity of the cigarette papers is only mediocre, that always noticeably undesirable taste undesirable smoke ingredients, especially certain hydrocarbons are present and that the ash tube is mechanically unstable.
Although the porosity of the paper can be increased by a slightly increased f-filler content (at most 35%) or by the use of low-fibrillated fibers, both result in deterioration of the sheet structure and unacceptable losses in mechanical strength.
Eine Verbesserung dieser Situation gibt die DD-PS 145863 an.An improvement of this situation is the DD-PS 145863.
The cellulose-containing fibers are then to be ground in aqueous suspension to a freeness of more than 90 ° Schopper-Riegler and the paper stock is so much filler to add that the ash content of the paper produced therefrom is more than 35%. As a result, although verbecserte porosltäts- and strength values and Blattstruktur-, burn-off and taste values are enough, but also not meet high and highest standards.
In DE-AS 1127199 the use of viscose or copper silk staple fibers is described to achieve a higher porosity.
However, these organic man-made fibers, like the cellulosic organic natural fibers, have the disadvantage that they burn when smoking a cigarette at temperatures in the glow zone between 800 ° C. and 1000 ° C. The folgo are, inter alia.
unbefriedigende Abbrandeigenschaften, wie z.B. Aufblättern des Ascheschlauchs.unsatisfactory burn-off properties, e.g. Peeling the ash tube.
In addition, there is a more or less strong decrease in the mechanical strength of the paper.
Ein solcher, mit AljOj-Fasern gearbeitetes Papier müßte danach nach heutigem WissensstandAnother way to achieve a higher porosity of the paper is given in DE-PS 3210461. The proposed addition of AljOjFasern should continue to cause a homogeneous leaf structure and improved Abbrand- and taste properties. That is, by the unburned AI, Oj-fibers in the paper axis, a closed, solid ash hose to arise. Such a paper, worked with AljOj fibers would have according to the current state of knowledge

A cellulosic fibrous material having a Srhopper-Riegler value of 98 ° and a Wasserrückhaltevermöge.i of 255%, 30% glass fibers based on the Gesamtfasprstoffgehalt in the form of a 0.1% suspension in a known manner to the otherwise finished pulp admixed. The added glass fibers have an average diameter of 0.005mm and a length of 1.5 to 3mm. Now the usual addition of fillers and auxiliaries takes place. The resulting paper furnish now had a freeness of 93 ° C SR and a water retention of 210%. Thereafter, the production of cigarette paper is made in a known manner with a basis weight of 18g / m 2 . This paper had excellent porosity and burn off properties as well as very good opacity and leaf structure characteristics. For example, the opacity was 2% higher than normal, and the ash tube was consistently closed and extremely strong and perfectly mechanically stable.
