Anwendungsgebiet der ErfindungField of application of the invention
The invention relates to a platinum metal alloy made of at least one platinum metal and yttrium produced on the melt. Charakteristik der bekannten technischen LösungenCharacteristic of the known technical solutions
A number of solutions have become known for imparting the desired properties to platinum and platinum metal alloys at elevated temperatures.
Such a known solution consists of an alloy of platinum or another platinum metal with an addition of zirconium or yttrium in an amount which exceeds the solubility of the base metal additive in the platinum metal (DE-OS 1,758,549) This solution is based on the fact in that the base metal additive forms a hard, intermetallic phase with the platinum metal, but this intermetallic phase is unevenly distributed in the alloy volume and has a lower melting temperature than the platinum metal, so that the hardening effect does not occur at high temperatures.
Another "known solution" is that an alloy of platinum or another.Platin metal with an addition of, for example, zirconium and / or yttrium
/• and / or calcium, the amount of which does not exceed the solubility in the platinum metal, is subjected to internal oxidation (DE-OS 1,533,273). /
The internal oxidation must be carried out on relatively small particles, which after the treatment ver. 'dense.t be. Such a powder metallurgy treatment is complex and does not always lead to reproducible properties and causes a considerable loss of workability. Another known solution consists of platinum and rhodium with an addition of 0.015 to 1.25 mass / l zirconium and 0.001 to 0.5 mass% boron. The zirconium additive can be wholly or partly replaced by yttrium (US Pat. PS 4,123,263). Although this material has an improved creep resistance, which is based to a significant extent on the high rhodium content (up to 40 %) required for the use of the material as a nozzle draw pan.
