Abstract

Un proceso para la preparación de carbonato de calcio precipitado laminado, que comprende las etapas de:proporcionar una suspensión de hidróxido de calcio, carbonatar la suspensión del hidróxido de calcio,adicionar un poliacrilato a la suspensión antes de que se complete la carbonatación a carbonato de calcio precipitado laminado.1 Un carbonato de calcio precipitado laminado que tiene partículas de morfología substancialmente laminada con paquetas que tienen un ancho de desde alrededor de 0.4 micras (0.4 µm) hasta alrededor de 1.5 micras (1.5 µm) y un espesor de desde alrededor de 0.05 micras (0.05 µm) hasta alrededor de 0.2 micras (0.2 µm), una distribución de tamaño de partícula que tiene 90 por ciento en peso de las partículas que se encuentran por debajo de alrededor de 2.5 micras (2.5 µm) y 50 por ciento en peso de las partículas por debajo de alrededor de 1.5 micras (1.5 µm), y un área de superficie específica de desde alrededor de 8 metros cuadrados por gramo hasta alrededor de 20 metros cuadrados por gramo.
