The waste liquid container is generally used for containing waste ink generated during cleaning of the print head or printing, and the waste ink enters the waste liquid container through a waste ink pipe after the generation of the waste ink. The form, size and storage position of the waste liquid container of each image forming apparatus are different, but the waste liquid container is generally provided with a chip for counting and a waste ink pad for absorbing ink.
Generally, the capacity of the waste liquid container is limited, and excessive accumulation of waste ink may cause waste ink to overflow from the waste liquid container, and if the image forming apparatus is carried, the waste ink having an excessive capacity may flow around the inside of the image forming apparatus. Meanwhile, the ink has conductivity, and once the ink flows into the image forming apparatus main board or an electrical element without insulation protection, the printing head and the image forming apparatus main board are easily burnt out when the ink is electrified. Therefore, the waste liquid container is a timing bomb inside the image forming apparatus, and there is a possibility that the entire image forming apparatus is destroyed without taking care.
In response to the above, the image forming apparatus sets a protection counter. The counter records the amount of waste ink each time, and when the waste ink reaches the upper limit, the image forming device can give different prompts, for example, some image forming devices can give an alarm by a buzzer or the number of times of flashing of a panel prompting lamp; while others are indicated by alternate flashing of all the indicator lights on the print panel.
