在所有拖鞋中，人字拖鞋最受欢迎，其简称人字拖。又叫“夹趾拖鞋”。通常认为穿“人字拖”会让脚踝、小腿和大腿变得匀称，会对腿部健美起到妙不可言的作用；但其于人字拖敞空的空间特别大，人们在穿着的时候习惯性地将脚置外，此时，脚置于人字拖带子上，无法使脚正常平方踩踏，影响脚的放松。另外，隆起的带子，在存藏时也极占空间。
