本实用新型解决其技术问题所采用的技术方案是：一种安全空心菜刀，包括刀体、刀把，其特征是：刀体的中间部位有一矩形孔，其底边距刀刃1-1.5cm，刀体外套有U形卡套，卡套的两个窄边各镶嵌一块小磁铁。
本实用新型的有益效果是：由于刀体外套有U形卡套使刀刃不暴露，这样解决了菜刀意外伤人的问题。另外，刀体中间设有矩形孔可以减少了菜粘刀。
