本实用新型的目的在于解决现有技术中出现的上述问题，提供一种改进型插板式USB连接器。
本实用新型实现其目的采用的技术方案是：一种改进型插板式USB连接器，包括胶芯、安装在胶芯外部的金属壳体以及设置在胶芯上的端子，所述金属壳体具有与金属壳体主体垂直的插脚，所述胶芯沿所述金属壳体的插脚方向设有加高垫，且所述端子及所述插脚均突出于所述加高垫。
所述加高垫具有中空的镂空部。
本实用新型采用上述结构后，在胶芯靠近所插主板的一侧设置加高垫即整体高度增加，使得连接器插接后，其端口与所插主板之间的距离增大，使使用者在插接USB接头时能获得更大的空间，有利于使用者插接；在加高垫中间设置镂空部，可减少塑胶用量，节约成本。
