Abstract
The invention can provides the cable digital TV function, the reception function for receiving the stream media from IPTV network and the playing function for playing the media resources in local. The gateway compatible with multi data stream formats consists of a digital TV software module, an IPTV network browser software module, a local media resources display module and a PVR digital recording module. The user at the top can operates the OSD interface module.
Description
Technical Field
The invention relates to a novel home gateway and an operation method thereof, in particular to a home gateway which is used for receiving a digital television, receiving IPTV network stream media, playing local media resources and supporting a plurality of network devices to surf the internet.
Background
With the development of digital televisions and internet technologies, home terminal devices adopting different data stream formats, such as a digital television set-top box, a network television set-top box and a home gateway of the internet, appear.
The conventional home multimedia data device usually adopts an ASIC chip with a single function, so that the cost is relatively low. However, if the above-mentioned receiving and playing of the data streams in multiple formats are to be achieved at the same time, multiple network devices with single function must be configured at the same time. Obviously, this kind of configuration mode can only solve the single format data stream, and is not beneficial to the popularization and use of various network technologies in the home. If such network terminal devices are purchased separately, not only space is occupied, but also the device cost is high, and the network terminal devices are difficult to bear in ordinary households. At present, the semiconductor technology is developing towards the direction of multiprocessor and high integration, and an SOC processor integrating a high-speed RISC processor core and a high-speed DSP signal processor core appears, which makes it possible to realize a network terminal with home application as a main part and multiple functions as a whole on a single platform.
At present, no gateway product compatible with a plurality of data stream formats is publicly used, and no operation method of related network control technology is disclosed.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention provides a gateway compatible with a plurality of data stream formats and an operation method thereof, aiming at solving the problems and the defects and providing a gateway product and a method thereof which are compatible with a CABLE digital television function, an IPTV network stream media receiving function and a local media resource playing function, thereby realizing the support of a plurality of data stream formats.
The application module of the gateway compatible with various data stream formats is that an application program, namely a digital television software module, an IPTV network browser software module, a local media resource playing module and a PVR digital video module, is arranged on a platform of an operating system, and the top is an OSD interface module which can be operated by a user. Various software modules are solidified into FLASH of the product by a manufacturer during production of the product, and parameters set by an operator can be written into an EEPROM memory under the assistance of personnel of the manufacturer.
The gateway application module can be used for selectively watching CABLE digital televisions or IPTV network streaming media through a remote controller or panel keys at any time according to needs, has the function of playing media data contents on local media resources such as a U disk or a mobile hard disk, and also has the function of PVR digital video recording. The IPTV network streaming media comprise network televisions, network movies and network music, and particularly comprise data formats such as MPEG-1-2-4, WMV9, DivX, RM, RMVB, MP3 and WMA.
The operation method of the gateway compatible with the multiple data stream formats comprises the following operation processes:
in the first step, the system is powered on and performs initialization operations.
One of the main tasks of initialization is to start the Linux operating system, detect the on-line local media resources, and write the detected parameters into the SDRAM memory chip for the OSD ui module to call. The OSD user interface module outputs display information after initialization is completed;
the initialization operation also detects whether the broadband network is accessed, and performs a legitimate user authentication registration if the broadband network is in an accessed state. The system logs in and registers according to the network address of the content service provider preset in the EEPROM chip, automatically completes the authentication registration of a legal user, keeps the system in a standby state of the IPTV network streaming media function, and waits for the user to select to watch.
And secondly, after the initialization operation is finished, the system executes an OSD user interface module to receive an instruction sent by a user through a remote controller or a control panel.
First, it is determined at any time whether the user wants to set parameters. For example, the network address of the content service provider is set, and the digital television function or the network television function is automatically switched to after the television is turned on.
If the user selects the parameter setting, the new parameters are stored in the EEPROM chip after the user setting is finished; and if the parameter setting is not carried out, other functional modules are continuously operated.
And thirdly, selecting the format type of the running processing data stream or the media file.
If the user selects to operate a certain function module through the remote controller or the control panel, the OSD user interface module calls the corresponding function module.
Otherwise, the digital television function or the IPTV network streaming media function is called according to the preset parameters to automatically play.
As described above, the running method compatible with the gateways with multiple data stream formats adopts the multitask embedded operating system Linux, so that the PVR digital video recording function can be called while the digital television function or the IPTV network streaming media function is running, thereby realizing recording of the digital television or IPTV network streaming media content.
As described above, the gateway compatible with multiple data stream formats and the operation method thereof according to the present invention have the following advantages: the digital television set-top box has the functions of a digital television, an IPTV network streaming media, a local media resource playing function, a PVR digital video recording function and a gateway, can replace a separated digital television set-top box, a network television set-top box and a home gateway product when used in a home, and can effectively reduce the occupied space, reduce the equipment cost and save resources.

Detailed Description
In embodiment 1, as shown in fig. 1, the operation method of the gateway compatible with multiple data stream formats is different from the existing network terminal adopting a single ASIC chip in that the gateway compatible with multiple data stream formats includes a single-structure module platform and has multiple interfaces such as a digital television interface, an IPTV network interface, and a media resource interface, and adopts a multitask embedded operating system Linux as a bottom module to divide an upper application module into an OSD user interface module and multiple data stream application modules.
The multiple data flow application modules are monitored by the OSD user interface module and respectively scheduled according to the user instructions, thereby realizing the provision of multiple use functions on a single structure module platform.
The operation flow of the gateway compatible with the multiple data stream formats is as follows:

As shown in fig. 2, the structure of the gateway compatible with multiple data stream formats includes a media processor (1), an SDRAM dynamic data memory (2), a FLASH program memory (3), a remote control circuit (4), an a/V interface (5), a COMPOSITE interface (6), an S-Video interface (7), an YPbPr interface (8), a DVI interface (9), a PCMCIA interface (10), a 1394 interface (11), a USB2.0host/OTG interface (12), a SATA interface (13), a SATA hard disk (14), a digital television CABLE interface (15), an ethernet SWITCH chip (16), an ethernet physical layer transceiver (17) (19), a network transformer, and an ethernet interface (18) (20).
The system has the functions of receiving CABLE digital television, receiving IPTV network streaming media, PVR personal digital video recording and supporting other network equipment such as computers to surf the Internet while browsing the IPTV network streaming media. Wherein,
the media processor adopts BCM7038 of Broadcom company;
the dynamic data memory is SDRAM or DDR SDRAM, adopting HY57V281620 of HYNIX company or M12L128168A of ESMT company;
the FLASH program memory adopts AT49LV320 of ATMEL company or MBM29DL32BF chip of FUJITSU company.
The BCM7038 chip integrates a 300MHz 64-bit MIPS CPU and a floating point processor, can quickly access a 400MHz DDR system memory, and is suitable for products such as digital televisions, set top boxes and HD-DVD players. The BCM7038 also integrates a 3D Y/C separation circuit and a multi-frame progressive circuit, and a dual-channel HD decoder of the BCM can simultaneously transmit different HD programs to a plurality of television sets in a family and realize PVR functions.
By applying the operation method, various underlying device drivers are loaded on the BCM7038 hardware platform, and then the embedded Linux operating system is used.
An ethernet SWITCH chip, one or more ethernet physical layer transceiver chips, and corresponding network transformer and RJ-45 network interface socket are integrated in the gateway IP network interface module and the gateway module. The method can meet the requirement of accessing one or more computers through the Ethernet interface and providing the functions of browsing the Internet network for the computers while watching IPTV network streaming media. The IPTV network streaming media is accessed by an ipanel network browser. The Ethernet SWITCH SWITCH chip may employ RTL8305 from REALTEK corporation. If the gateway module supports more than two ethernet interfaces, the ethernet physical layer transceiver may be selected from RTL8139 manufactured by REALTEK corporation or DM9000 manufactured by DAVICOM corporation.
The gateway is provided with a USB2.0host/OTG interface, and can play local media resources which adopt a USB interface as a high-speed data interface, such as a USB flash disk, a USB mobile hard disk and the like.
The gateway is provided with an SATA hard disk interface, and products with or without a PVR digital video module can be respectively designed according to the requirements of users at different levels. In the product with complete functions, a serial hard disk or DOM (disk On module) can be used as a storage medium to realize the TimeShift function and provide complete PVR personal digital video recording functions such as image stop, fast forward, fast backward, video recording and the like. A hard disk with capacity of dozens of Gbytes can be used for storing audio and video data for a long time such as several hours, and a FLASH disk in a DOM form can also be used for storing audio and video data for a short time such as several minutes. Meanwhile, a one-key video recording key is added in a product panel and a remote controller, so that a user can quickly start a PVR video recording function by using one key when watching digital television or IPTV television and the storage position of video recording data is determined according to default parameters of a system or parameters set by the user in advance.
The gateway is integrated with a plurality of peripheral interfaces, including a digital television CABLE interface, an Ethernet interface, a 1394 interface, a USB2.0host/OTG interface, a PCMCIA interface, a SATA interface, a COMPOSITE interface, an A/V interface, an S-Video interface, a YPbPr interface and a DVI interface. The 1394 interface can be connected with other home entertainment digital equipment, the USB2.0host/OTG interface is connected with the mobile memory, the PCMCIA interface is connected with the 802.11 wireless network card, the SATA interface is connected with the hard disk to realize the PVR function, and the COMPOSITE interface, the A/V interface, the S-Video interface, the YPbPr interface and the DVI interface are used for connecting the display terminal.
As shown in fig. 3, the application modules of the gateway are, on the platform of the operating system, a digital television software module, an IPTV web browser software module, a local media resource playing module, and a PVR digital video recording module, and the top is an OSD interface module that can be operated by the user. Various software modules are solidified into FLASH of the product by a manufacturer during production of the product, and parameters set by an operator can be written into an EEPROM memory under the assistance of personnel of the manufacturer.
The gateway application module can be used for selectively watching CABLE digital televisions or IPTV network streaming media through a remote controller or panel keys at any time according to needs, has the function of playing media data contents on local media resources such as a U disk or a mobile hard disk, and also has the function of PVR digital video recording. The IPTV network streaming media comprise network televisions, network movies and network music, and particularly comprise data formats such as MPEG-1-2-4, WMV9, DivX, RM, RMVB, MP3 and WMA.
Claims (2)
1. A gateway compatible with multiple data stream formats, characterized by: the gateway comprises a module platform with a single structure, a digital television interface, an IPTV network interface and a media resource interface, adopts a multitask embedded operating system Linux as a bottom module, and divides an upper application module into an OSD user interface module and a plurality of data stream application modules;
the gateway structure platform comprises a media processor (1), an SDRAM dynamic data memory (2), a FLASH program memory (3), a remote control circuit (4), an A/V interface (5), a COMPOSITE interface (6), an S-Video interface (7), an YPbPr interface (8), a DVI interface (9), a PCMCIA interface (10), a 1394 interface (11), a USB2.0host/OTG interface (12), an SATA interface (13), an SATA hard disk (14), a digital television CABLE interface (15), an Ethernet SWITCH exchange chip (16), an Ethernet physical layer transceiver (17) (19), a network transformer and Ethernet interfaces (18) (20).
2. The operation method of the gateway compatible with the multiple data stream formats is characterized in that: the operation flow of the gateway is that,
firstly, powering up a system and carrying out initialization operation;
one of the main tasks of initialization is to start the Linux operating system, detect the on-line local media resources, and write the detected parameters into the SDRAM memory chip for the OSD user interface module to call; the OSD user interface module outputs display information after initialization is completed;
the initialization operation also detects whether the broadband network is accessed, if the broadband network is in the access state, the legal user authentication registration is carried out; the system logs in and registers according to a content service provider network address preset in an EEPROM chip, automatically completes the authentication registration of a legal user, keeps the system in a standby state of the IPTV network streaming media function, and waits for the user to select to watch;
secondly, after the initialization operation is finished, the system executes an OSD user interface module to receive an instruction sent by a user through a remote controller or a control panel;
firstly, judging whether a user needs to set parameters at any time;
if the user selects the parameter setting, the new parameters are stored in the EEPROM chip after the user setting is finished; if the parameter setting is not carried out, other functional modules are continuously operated;
thirdly, selecting the format type of the running processing data stream or the media file;
if the user selects to operate a certain function module through a remote controller or a control panel, the OSD user interface module calls the corresponding function module;
otherwise, the digital television function or the IPTV network streaming media function is called according to the preset parameters to automatically play.
