Firstly, organic pollutants and microorganisms suspended in a liquid phase move and adhere to the surface of a carrier, then, the microorganisms adhering to the carrier degrade the organic pollutants, perform processes of metabolism, growth, reproduction and the like, gradually form a thin biological film in a local area of the carrier, and the biological film has biochemical activity and can further adsorb and decompose the organic pollutants in the wastewater until a layer of mature biological film which completely wraps the carrier is finally formed.
