Description

Drying method and drying device for carbon fibers
Technical Field
The application relates to the technical field of carbon fiber production, in particular to a carbon fiber drying method and a carbon fiber drying device.
Background
In the production process of the carbon fiber, in order to improve the transmission efficiency of a fiber interface layer after high-low temperature carbonization and surface treatment, the carbon fiber is subjected to sizing treatment, namely, a layer of polymer film is coated on the surface of the carbon fiber so as to further modify the surface of the carbon fiber. The sizing treatment can protect the carbon fiber, prevent the carbon fiber from adsorbing impurities and moisture in the air and protect the surface active groups of the carbon fiber; the carbon fiber bundle has a bundling function, and is convenient for subsequent processing and use of the carbon fiber; meanwhile, the wettability of the carbon fiber is improved, the resin impregnation is facilitated, the preparation time of the composite material is shortened, and the product quality is improved. The drying treatment after the sizing of the carbon fiber is to dry the water in the sizing agent, so that the sizing agent forms a film on the surface of the carbon fiber, endows the carbon fiber with certain bundling property, increases the surface glossiness and lubricity of the carbon fiber, keeps good stiffness and reduces the fuzzing.
The existing drying treatment mode adopts horizontal drying, the equipment used for horizontal drying is long, the occupied area is large, the drying efficiency is low, the time consumption is long, and the high-efficiency production requirement of carbon fibers cannot be met.

In the implementation process, the drying temperature is too high, so that adverse effects are easily generated on the carbon fiber tows, and the drying efficiency is low when the drying temperature is too low.
In one possible implementation, the diameter of the drying drum is 1.8-7m, optionally 2-4m.
In the implementation process, in the continuous conveying process of the carbon fiber tows, the contact drying area of the carbon fiber tows is large by controlling the diameter and the wrap angle range of the drying roller, so that the carbon fiber tows are fully dried, and the drying efficiency is high.
