Abstract
The invention relates to a self-tapping locking screw, which is characterized in that a screw driving tool is connected with a clamping structure to drive a screw column body, so that the screw column body can be screwed into a workpiece to be fixed with the workpiece. Therefore, the self-tapping locking screw is simple in structure, convenient to achieve a threaded connection function and particularly suitable for workpieces which are large in wall thickness and not suitable for connection modes such as welding or riveting.

With the rapid development of the automobile industry, the weight reduction of automobiles has become a trend of the development of automobiles in the world. The light weight of the automobile reduces the whole automobile quality of the automobile, improves the power performance of the automobile and reduces the energy consumption. As a preferred embodiment, as shown in fig. 2, the fastening structure 3 includes an inner wall of the avoiding hole 6 and grooves 8 circumferentially and uniformly arranged on the inner wall of the avoiding hole 6, and a special screw driving tool adapted to the fastening structure 3 may be designed or connected to a standard screw driving tool through an adapted adaptor.
As shown in fig. 1 and 2, an avoiding hole 6 coaxial with the internal threaded hole 4 is formed in the screw head 5, the avoiding hole 6 is communicated with the internal threaded hole 4, and the aperture of the avoiding hole 6 is larger than that of the internal threaded hole 4. Thus, after a thread forming screw of the present invention is screwed into a workpiece using a screw driving tool, the screw driving tool is removed, and then a screw to be screwed into the female screw hole 4 is screwed into the female screw hole 4 through the relief hole 6.
As shown in fig. 1, the outer wall of the connection portion of the screw cylinder 1 and the screw head 5 has a smooth transition cylindrical surface 7, and the diameter of the smooth transition cylindrical surface 7 is generally smaller than the small diameter of the tapping threads 2 on the screw cylinder 1, which is beneficial for screwing the tapping locking screw into place. For some gauges of thread forming screws, the smooth transition cylindrical surface 7 may not be required, but the thread forming thread 2 on the outer wall of the screw shank 1 may extend to the point where the screw shank 1 joins the screw head 5. Which structure is adopted depends on the specification size of the female screw hole 4.
In order to facilitate the screwing of the thread-forming screw into the workpiece, as shown in fig. 1, the screwing-in end is provided with a tapered guide structure 9, generally, a unthreaded hole is machined in the workpiece, and when the thread-forming screw is installed, the guide structure 9 is screwed into the unthreaded hole in an aligning manner, so that the thread-forming thread 2 on the outer wall of the screw cylinder 1 taps a thread on the inner wall of the unthreaded hole and is tightly connected with the inner wall.
As a preferred embodiment, as shown in fig. 1, the female screw hole 4 is formed through both ends of the screw cylinder 1, which not only facilitates the machining of the female screw hole 4, but also facilitates the discharge of foreign matter when screwing the thread forming screw into a workpiece.
When the self-tapping locking screw is installed on a workpiece, firstly, a screw driving tool is connected with a clamping structure 3 on the self-tapping locking screw, and the tail of a screw column body 1 is applied to an unthreaded hole on the workpiece through the screw driving tool to drive the self-tapping locking screw to rotate and tap the unthreaded hole on the workpiece, so that the self-tapping locking screw is combined with the workpiece, an internal thread hole 4 is formed in the workpiece, and therefore when the workpiece is connected with other parts, a bolt can be screwed into the internal thread hole 4 to be connected with the workpiece.
Based on the technical scheme of the embodiment, the self-tapping locking screw is simple in structure, convenient to achieve a threaded connection function and particularly suitable for workpieces which are large in wall thickness and not suitable for connection modes such as welding or riveting.
In conclusion, the present invention effectively overcomes various disadvantages of the prior art and has high industrial utilization value.

A thread forming screw as recited in claim 1, wherein: the clamping structure is an inner hexagonal flower-shaped structure, an outer hexagonal flower-shaped structure, an inner hexagonal hole structure, an outer hexagonal head structure, a linear clamping groove structure and a cross clamping groove structure.
9. A thread forming screw as recited in claim 1, wherein: the screw-in end is provided with a conical guide structure.
