The nasal cavity of human beings starts from the nostril and ends at the posterior nostril and is communicated with the nasopharynx. The nasal cavity is divided into a left cavity and a right cavity by the nasal septum, and each nasal cavity is divided into a nasal vestibule and an inherent nasal cavity. The surface of the nasal vestibule is covered with skin, the surface of the inherent nasal cavity is covered with mucosa and contains secretory glands and abundant blood vessels, particularly the inferior turbinate, the mucosa covered on the surface is thicker, and the blood vessels are abundant under the mucosa, so that the inhaled air can be heated and humidified, and the stimulation and damage caused by the fact that low-temperature and dry air is directly inhaled into the lower respiratory tract are avoided.
The excessive excision of nasal turbinates caused by different reasons or the atrophy of nasal turbinates caused by certain diseases can cause the reduction of nasal resistance and the weakening of the warming and humidifying functions of the nasal cavity, thereby causing 'nose-air disease'. The 'empty nose' patients have nasal obstruction, nasal cavity, nasopharynx and pharyngeal dryness, some patients have suffocation, concentration failure, fatigue, dysphoria, anxiety, depression, nasal discharge, bloody secretion, malodor, hyposmia and other symptoms, the life quality is obviously reduced, and some patients even suicide.
At present, the clinical treatment of the 'nose disease' mainly adopts an operation method, and the nasal cavity is reduced and the symptoms are improved by implanting a prosthesis. However, due to rejection of the implant material, the surgical effect is often not ideal, the surgical cost is high, and the patient is still required to suffer from the pain of the surgery, so that the method cannot be popularized.
In view of this, how to enable an empty nose patient to well humidify and warm air inhaled into a nasal cavity under the premise of avoiding an operation is a popular subject of research by a rhinologist in the recent years.
