涉及领域本发明涉及用于扫描和识读条形码及其它光学可识别信号的系统,具体涉及一种手提式的条形码扫描器和识读系统,它具有一壳体,壳体上有一让扫描光束通过的窗口。本发明更具体地涉及一种用于手提式条形码扫描器的可就地更换的窗和/或光学组件。更具体地说本发明的一种组件包括一橡皮罩,该橡皮罩中装有一窗和/或光学元件并使该窗和/或光学组件紧贴在壳体前方的扫描器壳体。光学元件通过一叫作“罩(boot)”的端盖装在光学窗的窗孔上,该光学元件通常是一窗,但也可以是一滤镜或透镜。相关申请本甲请涉及一在1993年5月8日提交的题为“手提式光学扫描器或类似件”的设计申请,也涉及一在1993年5月4日提交的题为“手提式光学扫描器或类似件”的设计申请。这两个申请以及本申请都转让给了PSC公司。背景技术及本发明概要以激光扫描器为基础的条形码识读系统已经出现了一段时间。这些扫描器通常包括一具有一激光器和相关光学元件纳于其中的壳体。这样一种激光器和相关光学元件可参见于1993年4月6日授予Jay Eastman等人的美国专利第5,200,597号,其中激光器与一包括一印刷线路板的“扫描起动器”上的电子电路一体设置。所述壳体典型地是一封闭的结构,其中,除了其它一些部件外,支承着产生扫描对象所需的光线的激光器和接收从扫描对象返回光线的光电探测器。壳体还典型地具有至少一个光学窗口。从激光器发出的光线通过光学装置被引导穿过该窗口,从被扫描的条形码上折回的光线也通过该窗口被引导到光电探测器上。这样,扫描器的性能在很大程度上就要取决于该窗口。该窗必须有很好的透光性并且足够坚硬以防止损坏。不幸的是,在普通的扫描器操作过程中,窗可能被损坏因而需要更换。在已有技术的扫描系统中,只能在拆开整个机构,重新组装壳体和扫描器的条件下才能更换窗件。

就目前所知,还没有带有可以就地置换的窗的条形码扫描器。甚至没有一种已有技术提出过可在条形码扫描器中结合一可就地更换的窗的这样一种可能性,更不用说教导人们如何去装这种窗了。

除了更换以外,使用新一代的窗也是人们所希望的。例如,人们可能需要将一条形码窗升级为一种“布鲁斯特扫描窗”,该种窗揭示在Edwoird Coleman等人在1993年5月7日提交的题为“手装光学扫描系统”的申请中,该申请也已转让给了本发明的受让人。

人们也可能需要为扫描器加进一些别的光学元件或功能。例如加一个滤镜,或者在某种场合下希望有一种防刮擦的特殊的涂层,或者在另一场合下需要用涂层的光学元件。

授予Aroxia的美国专利5,162,942中揭示了一种其内具有一窗口的透镜头。这种透镜头窗的特征在于具有一透明的内玻璃和一半透明(例如仅为半透光)的外玻璃,这两块玻璃之间有一称为标题插入部分的间隙。(第5栏,50—65行)。该标题插入部分置有一“标题记录纸”,用它可以写下所需的屏幕标题,以便以不用放大就可以看到的方式或近景方式进行摄录。

授予Walker的美国专利3,587,184中揭示出了一种用于盖住一控制面板上的一光指灯开口的密封组件。在Walker的发明中,一弹性密封件盖住了整个开口,而一窗件则插入在该窗件外侧形成一体的唇部内。与本发明不同,该弹性密封件覆盖住了整个开口。

Bengtsson在美国专利5,187,354中揭示了一种用于识读条形码和钝化监视签条的扫描仪,它使用了一“胶皮封套或套筒”,以固定在壳体的开口周边附近的永磁体。(第2栏,29-35行)Bengtsson并未指出任何在扫描器开口周围固定一窗件的方法。

授予Wike的美国专利5,177,347中揭示出了“一种扫描机构26,它通过一支承环28装在主体部分24内,所述支承环除了支承着扫描机构26之外还支承着具有一开口32的盖子构件30,这个开口内设置着扫描机构26的面部34。盖子构件30可以用诸如聚丙烯之类的透明材料制成,并且由一弹性泡沫材料制成的环36相对于面部34减震地加以安装(第2栏,65行至第3栏第6行)。

与本发明不同,Wike的发明中的盖子并不支承一窗件。而盖子却由环支承着。“所述主体上的环于其一侧支承着其内具一开口的盖子,同一环在其另一侧支承着其上具一‘窗那样的’面34的扫描机构”,这样,盖子是由与所述面部同样的结构来支承的;与本发明不同,此盖子本身并不支承面部。因而在Wike的发明中,更换盖子并不能为更换任何光学元件提供方便的途径,所以Wike也未揭示出类似本发明的构想。

授予Maglica等人的美国专利5,165,782中揭示了用于闪光灯的“一种吸震透镜保持件和防滚动装置”;它说明了一种将一滤光镜保持在闪光灯透镜前的方法。该专利并未揭示出本发明的装置,本发明的装置完全由吸震材料组成,无需进一步的框架、防滚动的或是其它装置来把它保持在位置上。此外,Maglica发明的装置需要安装在一已具有一密封透镜的闪光灯上,而装在本发明的装置上的可以是一透镜,也可是窗件,并且可以直接安装到扫描器上。附图简要说明图1是本发明的较佳实施例的一条形码扫描器和识读系统的前视立体图;图2是图1中条形码扫描器的右侧透视图;

图3是沿图1中线3—3剖取的剖视图;图4是沿图3中线4—4剖取的剖视图;首先请参见图1—4。其中示出了一便携式条形码激光扫描仪100和一识读器。一壳体101包容着该装置的电子电路和光学元件。壳体是一具左12、右14两部分的两爿式壳体,它们沿着分界面16相互组接在一起。该壳体类似于上文提及的美国专利5,200,597中所揭示的那种型式,但在其头部另外具有一扫描器窗件的框架,它被称作罩件110,由弹性材料(橡胶那样的)制成,适于容纳条形码激光扫描器的头部100。罩件110抵着壳体210的前端的表面卡住一窗件250或其它光学元件。

图1示出了由两爿壳体12和14组合而成并形成一分界线16的两爿式壳体。

图2示出的是将罩件110取下后的扫描器。该罩件沿着诸肋片在卡合凹部230(图3)和202处被固定。(在头部的鼻部24(7)处)容纳着罩件的扫描器头部的外径略小于不容纳罩件的头部的其余部分。这样,罩件就能于鼻部243的后方与壳体外部相齐平。实际上,头部的鼻部243的前端24的表面240的尺寸仅等于头部后方210的尺寸。鼻部240的表面240形成了一含有一台阶或凸缘245的框架。罩件的前端沿着其上、下、左、右具有一凸肩249。

图3是其上装有罩件的扫描器100的剖视图。罩件230具有适于卡合凸舌202的卡合凹部230。凸舌245在表面240处提供了一凸肩。所述凸肩构成了能容纳光学元件(例如窗件250,当然也可以是其它光学元件),并将其保持在一定位置上的矩形开口。罩件的弹性保证了和该元件的紧密的配合。窗件250具有上、下、左、右四条边,它们在扫描器的表面206处紧靠着凸肩(亦称凸阶或凸缘)245贴合在内。也就是说,窗件250由橡皮罩110保持在一定位置,该橡皮罩的前端开口的尺寸小于窗件250,因而其上下左右边就形成了一橡皮唇270,249(如图5所示),它们能使窗件250抵住凸肩240而设置。

图4示出了头部的内部结构,特别示出了与壳体101成一体的肋片在其鼻部143是如何卡住卡合凹部230的。

Claims (8)

1.在一种具有一壳体的条形码扫描器中,一可就地更换的窗组件包括:一在一端面具有开口的鼻部、一紧靠所述凸肩的光学元件、以及一弹性材料制成的罩件,该罩件围绕所述鼻部并在所述罩件和所述鼻部之间卡住所述元件。
2.如权利要求1所述的组件,其特征在于,它还包括一凸肩。
3.如权利要求1所述的组件,其特征在于,所述鼻部在其前部具有一最大尺寸,从该鼻部向内倾斜成一较小的周向尺寸,以为装于其上的罩件提供一基本齐平的配合。
4.如权利要求3所述的组件,其特征在于,它还包括沿着罩件四边沿伸的唇部,该唇部形成了一开口并且搭接住了要卡合的元件。
5.如权利要求4所述的组件,其特征在于,所述元件是透明的。
6.如权利要求4所述的组件,其特征在于,所述元件是非透明的。
7.如权利要求4所述的组件,其特征在于,所述元件是一布鲁斯特窗件。
8.如权利要求4所述的组件,其特征在于,所述窗件是一滤光镜。
