Detailed Description
Hereinafter, embodiments to which the present invention is applied will be described with reference to the drawings. In the drawings, the same components are denoted by the same reference numerals.
Fig. 1 is (one of) a schematic configuration diagram of an ink supply device and an image forming apparatus according to an embodiment. Fig. 2 is a schematic configuration diagram (two) of the ink supply device and the image forming apparatus according to the embodiment. The image forming apparatus 1 shown in these figures is an apparatus for forming an image on a main surface of a recording medium P. The recording medium P is a sheet-like medium, and may be a single sheet (single sheet) or a continuous sheet (continuous sheet). The recording medium P may be made of various materials such as cloth like cloth, plain paper, thick paper, thin paper, japanese paper, special paper, corrugated paper, and resin film. The image forming apparatus 1 includes a conveying device 10 and an ink supply device 20, and is characterized in that the arrangement direction of the ink supply device 20 with respect to the conveying device 10 can be arbitrarily reversed as shown in fig. 1 and 2. The following describes the detailed configurations of the conveyance device 10 and the ink supply device 20 included in the image forming apparatus 1.
Transport device 10
The conveying device 10 is a device that conveys the recording medium P, and is, for example, a device of a belt (belt) conveying system as illustrated in the drawings. The belt conveying type conveying apparatus 10 is configured by winding an endless belt around a plurality of rollers, not shown here. In the conveying device 10, the outer peripheral surface of the endless belt is used as a mounting surface 10a of the recording medium P, and the endless belt is rotated by the rotation of the roller, whereby the sheet-like recording medium P fixed to the mounting surface 10a by suction is conveyed in the belt rotation direction. In the illustrated example, an upward surface of the outer peripheral surface of the endless belt is a mounting surface 10a of the recording medium P.
The transport direction x of the recording medium P in the transport device 10 is one transport direction x when forming an image, but may be the opposite direction [ -x ] when adjusting the position of the recording medium P or maintaining the image forming apparatus 1.
Ink supply device 20
The ink supply device 20 is a device that supplies ink to the recording medium P conveyed in the predetermined conveyance direction x by the conveyance device 10. The ink can be supplied by the ink supply device 20 along the conveyance width direction y of the mounting surface 10a of the conveyance device 10. Here, the conveyance width direction y is a direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction x in which the recording medium P is conveyed by the conveyance device 10 within a plane parallel to the placement surface 10 a.
The ink supply device 20 is, for example, an ink jet type device, and is a device that ejects ink at a predetermined timing with respect to the recording medium P conveyed in the predetermined conveyance direction x by the conveyance device 10, and supplies ink to the recording medium P in a non-contact manner. The ink supply device 20 of the inkjet system may be of a scanning system or a single-path (single-path) system, but here, the ink supply device 20 of the scanning system is exemplified for description.
The ink supply device 20 includes a supply device main body 21, a control panel 22, an ink supply member 23, and an operation unit 24, and is configured as follows.
< supply device body 21>
The supply device main body 21 is configured to have an upstream surface and a downstream surface facing the conveyance direction x in a state of being provided to the conveyance device 10, and can be provided to the conveyance device 10 in any two-directional state in which the surfaces including the conveyance direction x and the conveyance width direction y are reversed and the upstream surface and the downstream surface facing the conveyance direction x are reversed. The supply device main body 21 includes a housing 21a and a head bracket 21b housed in the housing 21 a. These structures are as follows.
[ frame body 21a ]
The housing 21a accommodates and holds a head carriage 21b described below and components for operating the head carriage 21 b. The frame 21a is disposed along the conveyance width direction y of the mounting surface 10a of the conveyance device 10 so as to face the mounting surface 10 a. In the illustrated example, the housing 21a is disposed above the mounting surface 10a disposed upward. In this case, the frame 21a is supported on the ground by the supporting legs 21aa on both sides of the conveying device 10 in the conveying width direction y, for example. The frame 21a is not limited to being supported on the floor as shown in the figure, and may be supported on the conveying device 10 or other parts other than the floor of the building in which the conveying device 10 and the ink supply device 20 are installed.
The frame 21a has an ink supply opening a on a surface facing the mounting surface 10a of the conveying device 10. An ink supply opening a is provided along the conveyance width direction y of the mounting surface 10a of the conveyance device 10, and the ink supply opening a is configured to be able to supply ink from the head carriage 21b to the entire width direction of the recording medium P mounted on the mounting surface 10 a.
The frame 21a has a surface facing the upstream side and a surface facing the downstream side in the conveyance direction x in a state where the ink supply device 20 is provided to the conveyance device 10. The housing 21a includes a head bracket 21B housed inside and a maintenance opening B for maintenance of other components. In the illustrated example, the following states are shown: in a side peripheral portion of the frame 21a, a maintenance opening B is provided on a surface facing the downstream side in the conveyance direction x in a state where the ink supply device 20 is provided to the conveyance device 10. However, the maintenance opening B is not limited to 1 part, and may be provided in a sufficient size at a desired plurality of parts including the top surface of the frame body 21 a.
Although not shown here, a door is provided in the maintenance opening B, and the maintenance opening B is openable and closable. Further, a rail (not shown) for scanning the head carriage 21b in the conveyance width direction y in the housing 21a may be provided in the housing 21 a.
In particular, the housing 21a as described above is configured to be disposed so as to face the placement surface 10a of the conveying device 10 in any two-directional state in which the surfaces in the conveying direction x and the conveying width direction y are reversed and the surface facing the downstream side and the surface facing the upstream side in the conveying direction x are reversed. That is, as shown in fig. 1, the housing 21a can also be disposed with respect to the conveying device 10 with the surface provided with the maintenance opening B facing the downstream side in the conveying direction x. On the other hand, as shown in fig. 2, the housing 21a can be disposed with respect to the conveying device 10 in a state in which the surface provided with the maintenance opening B faces the upstream side in the conveying direction x.
[ head bracket 21b ]
Fig. 3 is (one of) a configuration diagram of a head carriage included in the ink supply device according to the embodiment. Fig. 4 is a structural diagram (two) of a head carriage included in the ink supply device according to the embodiment. These figures are schematic views of the head carriage 21b viewed from the bottom surface side, i.e., from the placement surface 10a side of the conveying device 10.
As shown in these figures, the head carriage 21b is housed in a predetermined state in the housing 21a in a state where the plurality of ink heads 101 are held, and scans in the conveyance width direction y in a state where the head carriage is housed in the housing 21 a. Such a head bracket 21b holds: a plurality of head members 102 that hold the ink heads 101, and an ink supply driving section 103, an ink supply control section 104, and a head control section 105.
The head part 102-
Each head member 102 is provided corresponding to each ink color. The head members 102 of the respective colors are, for example, a head member 102c for cyan ink, a head member 102m for magenta ink, a head member 102y for yellow ink, and a head member 102k for black ink. The head units 102 of the respective colors are arranged in an arbitrarily set color arrangement order along the conveying width direction y. The head members 102 of the respective colors are provided so that the order of arrangement can be changed over, or connection with the supply pipes of the ink supply member 23 described later can be changed over.
Each head member 102 holds a plurality of ink heads 101. Here, each ink head 101 has a plurality of rows of nozzle openings 101b on 1 nozzle surface 101a, and discharges ink from each nozzle opening 101b at each timing. Each head member 102 holds a plurality of ink heads 101 such that the nozzle surfaces 101a of the ink heads 101 are arranged on the same plane. The head members 102 hold the plurality of ink heads 101 in a staggered arrangement so that the nozzle openings 101b provided in the nozzle surfaces 101a of the held ink heads 101 are arranged at the same interval along the conveyance direction x. Further, the arrangement of the ink heads 101 in each head member 102 may be the same.
In addition, the head unit 102 corresponding to each color is configured as follows: the head carriage 21b is held in a state of any two-way direction including a plane in the conveying direction x and the conveying width direction y, that is, a plane holding the opening direction of the nozzle opening 101b, which is inverted. Thereby, the following structure is formed: the ink heads 101 held by the head units 102 are held by the head carriage 21b in a state of being inverted in a plane including the conveying direction x and the conveying width direction y.
With this configuration, even when the supply device main body 21 is arranged in the reversed state with respect to the transport device 10 as described above (see fig. 1 and 2), the arrangement state of the ink heads 101 in the transport direction x and the transport width direction y can be maintained before and after the reversal by reversing the head member 102 held by the head carriage 21 b. In this case, the order of arrangement of the head units 102 can be changed, or the connection of the supply pipes of the ink supply unit 23 to the head units 102 of the respective colors can be changed, so that the color order of the head units 102 in the conveying direction x and the conveying width direction y can be maintained.
Therefore, similar image formation can be performed on the recording medium P conveyed in the conveyance direction x by the conveyance device 10 both when the supply device main body 21 is inverted and when it is not inverted within the plane including the conveyance direction x and the conveyance width direction y. In addition, the supply device main body 21 is configured to be able to be installed in the conveyance device 10 in a state including any two directions in which the planes of the conveyance direction x and the conveyance width direction y of the recording medium P are inverted.
As another configuration that can be provided for the conveyance device 10 in a state in which the conveyance direction x and the conveyance width direction y of the recording medium P are in two directions, including in-plane inversion, the supply device main body 21 may be configured to be able to invert the arrangement state of the ink heads 101 in the head member 102. In this case, the head member 102 held by the head bracket 21b does not need to be able to reverse inside the head bracket 21 b.
Ink supply drive section 103
The ink supply driving portion 103 is a driving portion for supplying ink of each color supplied from an ink supply member 23 (see fig. 1 and 2) described below to each ink head 101 for each head member 102. The ink supply driving unit 103 includes a pump and an electromagnetic valve.
Ink supply control section 104
The ink supply control section 104 is a section for controlling the driving of the ink supply driving section 103. The ink supply control unit 104 is constituted by a computer such as a microcomputer. The computer includes storage units such as a CPU (Central Processing Unit), a ROM (Read Only Memory), and a RAM (Random Access Memory), and the CPU executes programs recorded in the ROM and the RAM to control ink supply to each ink head 101.
Head control section 105-
The head control unit 105 controls the driving of the ink heads 101 based on signals from the operating unit 24 and the control panel 22, which will be described later, so that the ink of each color is ejected from each nozzle opening 101b at each timing. The head control unit 105 is configured by a computer similar to the ink supply control unit 104, and controls driving of the ink heads 101 by the CPU executing a program recorded in the ROM or the RAM.
The ink supply driving unit 103, the ink supply control unit 104, and the head control unit 105 as described above are disposed at, for example, the end of the head carriage 21b in the transport direction x. Thus, even when the housing 21a is disposed in an inverted position with respect to the conveying device 10 as described above (see fig. 1 and 2), the position of the head member 102 with respect to the housing 21a in the conveying width direction y can be maintained.
< control Panel 22>
Referring back to fig. 1 and 2, the control panel 22 houses electrical components such as an electrical control device and an electrical device for electrically controlling the ink supply device 20. The control panel 22 may include a meter, a switch, and the like, which are not shown here.
The control panel 22 may be fixed to the supply device main body 21 in an electrically connected state with the supply device main body 21, but may be configured to be independently arranged at a position separated from the supply device main body 21. In this case, for example, as shown in fig. 1, the control panel 22 may be disposed on the left side of the housing 21a opposite to the maintenance opening B toward the maintenance opening B. As shown in fig. 2, the control panel 22 may be disposed on the right side of the housing 21a opposite to the maintenance opening B toward the maintenance opening B. Although not shown here, the ink supply member 23 may be disposed on either the left or right side of the frame 21a toward the maintenance opening B. The location of the maintenance opening B is not limited to the illustrated position.
< ink supply Member 23>
The ink supply member 23 supplies ink of each color to the ink heads 101 in the head members 102 held by the head carriage 21b via the ink supply driving portion 103. The ink supply member 23 includes: a plurality of storage tanks (not shown) for storing ink of each color; and a plurality of supply pipes 23a for supplying ink from the respective reservoirs to the ink heads 101 of the respective head members 102. Each supply pipe 23a is provided with a pump and connected to the ink supply driving unit 103.
In particular, the ink supply member 23 is configured independently of the supply device main body 21, and includes a supply pipe 23a having a sufficient length and a pump for sufficient output, and can be disposed at any position with respect to the supply device main body 21. For example, as shown in fig. 1, the ink supply member 23 may be disposed on the right side of the frame 21a opposite to the maintenance opening B toward the maintenance opening B. As shown in fig. 2, the ink supply member 23 may be disposed on the left side of the housing 21a opposite to the maintenance opening B toward the maintenance opening B. Although not shown here, the ink supply member 23 may be disposed on either the left or right side of the frame 21a toward the maintenance opening B. The location of the maintenance opening B is not limited to the illustrated position.
< operation section 24>
The operation unit 24 includes a user interface portion for inputting settings of an image forming job to be performed using the image forming apparatus 1, and includes, for example, a display panel 24a and operation buttons 24 b. The operation button 24b may be a touch panel provided integrally with the display panel 24 a. The setting of the image forming job by the operation unit 24 is, for example, the size of the recording medium P on which the image is formed, the image formed on the recording medium P, the layout of the image, and the like.
The operation unit 24 may include a storage unit for holding image data and a computer for forming image data, in addition to user interfaces such as the display panel 24a and the operation buttons 24 b. The operation unit 24 for performing such an operation may be an operation unit of a personal computer connected to the image forming apparatus 1 or another external device.
In particular, the operation unit 24 is configured to be independent from the supply device main body 21 in a wired or wireless connection state, and can be disposed at an arbitrary position with respect to the supply device main body 21. For example, as shown in fig. 1, the operation portion 24 may be disposed on the right side of the housing 21a toward the maintenance opening B. As shown in fig. 2, the operation portion 24 can be disposed on the left side of the housing 21a toward the maintenance opening B. Although not shown here, the operation portion 24 may be disposed on either the left or right side of the frame 21a opposite to the maintenance opening B toward the maintenance opening B. The location of the maintenance opening B is not limited to the illustrated position.
Effect of the embodiment
The ink supply device 20 according to the embodiment described above can be installed in any of the two directions in which the transport direction x of the transport device 10 is reversed, and the degree of freedom in the installation state of the transport device 10 is improved. This enables, for example, the direction of the maintenance opening B of the ink supply device 20 with respect to the conveyance device 10 to be changed, and the arrangement position of the operation unit 14 to be freely set, thereby ensuring the maintainability of the ink supply device 20. As described below, when the ink supply device 20 is newly added to the conveyance device 10 of the existing image forming apparatus, an installation state in which efficient operation can be performed can be realized.
Fig. 5 is a diagram (one of) showing an example of installation of the ink supply device and the image forming apparatus according to the embodiment. Fig. 6 is a diagram (two) showing an example of installation of the ink supply device and the image forming apparatus according to the embodiment. These figures show an example of arrangement of the ink supply device 20 when the ink supply device 20 is newly added to an existing image forming apparatus 1a arranged in a defined arrangement space 1003 between the wall portion 1001 and the working passage 1002.
Here, the existing image forming apparatus 1a includes the conveying device 10 described in the embodiment and the image forming unit 30 that forms an image on the recording medium P conveyed by the conveying device 10. The image forming unit 30 may be an ink supply device, a printing device for performing screen printing or the like, or one or a plurality of the image forming units.
When the ink supply device 20 described in the previous embodiment is additionally provided to the existing image forming apparatus 1a, the ink supply device 20 may be disposed so that the maintenance opening B faces the existing image forming unit 30 side as shown in fig. 5. In this case, the operation portion 24 is disposed on the passage 1002 side and on the maintenance opening B side, so that the operation route of the operator Op between the operation portion 24 of the ink supply device 20, the maintenance opening B, and the existing image forming portion 30 can be shortened to ensure the operability. Further, by disposing the ink supply member 23 on the side of the passage 1002 and on the opposite side of the operation portion 24 with respect to the supply device main body 21, the operation and maintenance work performed by the operator Op is not hindered, and the replacement work of the reservoir tank of the ink supply member 23 can be facilitated. The control panel 22 that is not normally operated can be disposed on the wall 1001 side opposite to the passage 1002.
In addition, when the distance [ d ] between the image forming unit 30 and the ink supply device 20 cannot be sufficiently set due to the relationship of the setting space 1003, the ink supply device 20 may be disposed so that the maintenance opening B faces the opposite side of the existing image forming unit 30 as shown in fig. 6. In this case, the operation portion 24 is disposed on the maintenance opening B side on the passage 1002 side, and thus the operation route of the operator Op between the operation portion 24 and the maintenance opening B of the ink supply device 20 can be shortened to ensure the operability. The arrangement position of the maintenance opening B is merely an example, and is not limited to the illustrated position.
Modifications of the examples
As described with reference to fig. 3 and 4, the ink supply device 20 described above has been described as having a configuration in which the arrangement state of the ink heads 101 in the head carriage 21b can be reversed. However, the ink supply device 20 of the present invention may have another configuration in which the supply device main body 21 can be provided to the conveyance device 10 in a state of any two directions including the plane inversion of the conveyance direction x and the conveyance width direction y of the recording medium P. As another example of such a configuration, a configuration having a data processing unit that performs inversion processing of a formed image while fixing the arrangement state of the ink heads 101 in the head carriage 21b can be exemplified.
Such a data processing unit may be provided in the control panel 22. In this case, the control panel 22 is provided with a computer such as a microcomputer. The data processing unit may be a unit in which a dedicated program is installed in the computer of the control panel 22, and the CPU constituting the computer executes the program recorded in the ROM or the RAM to perform a process of inverting the image data input from the operation unit 24 or the external device.
The data processing unit is not limited to the control panel 22, and may be provided in the operation unit 24 or the head control unit 105 provided in the head carriage 21 b. If the operation unit 24 is provided, the operation unit 24 is provided with a computer such as a microcomputer.
