Abstract

The invention provides a board connector assembly and a connector thereof. The insulating base comprises a first body, a first terminal base, a second terminal base and a tongue piece part. Board connector assembly and connector thereof
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a connector, and more particularly, to a board connector provided with a metal shield.
Background
A board-to-board connector (board to board connector) is a device for transmitting electrical signals between a circuit board and a circuit board, and generally has two rows of oppositely disposed terminals for contacting two rows of terminals of another mating connector.
With the advent of the 5G communication era, signals are generally transmitted at high frequency and high speed, and when a high frequency signal of 30GHz or more is transmitted through a conventional board-to-board connector, signals transmitted through terminals interfere with each other.
Disclosure of Invention
In view of the above, the present invention provides a board connector, which has a metal shielding member disposed between two rows of terminals, wherein when the terminals transmit high frequency signals, the metal shielding member can absorb electromagnetic waves emitted during transmission of the high frequency signals, so as to avoid interference with signals transmitted by other terminals.
In order to achieve the purpose, the invention adopts the technical scheme that:
a board connector, comprising:
an insulating base body, including a first body, a first terminal base, a second terminal base and a tongue piece part, wherein the first terminal base and the second terminal base are formed on the first body and are oppositely arranged, and the tongue piece part is arranged on the first body and is positioned between the first terminal base and the second terminal base;
a plurality of first terminals disposed on the first terminal seat, wherein at least one of the first terminals has a first contact area contacting with a terminal of another board connector mated with the board connector;
a plurality of second terminals arranged on the second terminal seat and respectively opposite to the plurality of first terminals;
and the metal shielding piece is arranged on the tongue piece part and corresponds to the first contact area.
The board connector, wherein: the metal shielding piece is embedded in the tongue piece part and is positioned between the plurality of first terminals and the plurality of second terminals.
The board connector, wherein: the metal shielding piece is vertically embedded in the tongue piece part along the protruding extending direction of the tongue piece part and is higher than the first contact area.
The board connector, wherein: the first terminal base is a first concave portion, and the plurality of first terminals are fixedly arranged in the first concave portion.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 to 3 show an embodiment of a board connector assembly according to the invention. The board connector assembly 1000 of the present invention includes a first connector 100 and a second connector 200.
The first connector 100 includes an insulating base 110, a plurality of first terminals 120, a plurality of second terminals 130, and a metal shield 140. The insulative housing 110 includes a first body 111, a first terminal base 112, a second terminal base 113 and a tongue portion 114. In the embodiment, the first body 111 is substantially rectangular, a first recess 115 is formed in the first body 111, two sides of the first recess 115 are a first side wall 1112 and a second side wall 1114 of the first body 111, respectively, the tongue portion 114 is fixedly disposed in the first recess 115 to divide the first recess 115 into a first recess 1151 and a second recess 1152, in the embodiment, the tongue portion 114 protrudes from a bottom center of the first recess 115 and is rectangular, the tongue portion 114 includes a first wall surface 1141, a second wall surface 1142 and a top surface 1143, the top surface 1143 connects the first wall surface 1141 and the second wall surface 1142, the first wall surface 1141 and the first side wall 1112 of the body 111 form the first recess 1151, and the second wall surface 1142 and the second side wall 1114 of the body 111 form the second recess 1152.
The first terminal holder 112 and the second terminal holder 113 are formed on the first body 111 and are disposed opposite to each other, in this embodiment, the first terminal holder 112 is formed on the first concave portion 1151, the second terminal holder 113 is formed on the second concave portion 1152, as described above, the first wall surface 1141 of the tongue portion 114 and the first side wall 1112 of the body 111 form the first concave portion 1151, and the second wall surface 1142 of the tongue portion 114 and the second side wall 1114 of the body 111 form the second concave portion 1152, so that the tongue portion 114 is located between the first terminal holder 112 and the second terminal holder 113.
The plurality of first terminals 120 are disposed on the first terminal holder 112, each first terminal 120 includes a first fixing portion 121, a first soldering portion 122 and a first contact portion 123, the first fixing portion 121 is connected to the first soldering portion 122 and the first contact portion 123, at least one first contact area 124 is located on at least one of the first contact portions 123, the first fixing portion 121 is fixedly disposed at the bottom of the first recess 1151, the first soldering portion 122 protrudes from the bottom of the insulating holder 110, the first soldering portion 122 is soldered to a circuit board (not shown), the first contact portion 123 is disposed on the first wall 1141, the first wall 1141 forms a plurality of first grooves 1144, the first contact portion 123 is received in the first groove 1144, and the first contact area 124 of the first contact portion 123 contacts the third terminal 220 of the second board connector 200, which is butted with the first board connector 100.
The second terminals 130 are disposed on the second terminal base 113 and are respectively opposite to the first terminals 120. Each second terminal 130 includes a second fixing portion 131, a second soldering portion 132 and a second contact portion 133, the second fixing portion 131 connects the second soldering portion 132 and the second contact portion 133, the second fixing portion 131 is fixed at the bottom of the second recess 1152, the second soldering portion 132 protrudes from the bottom of the insulating base 110, the second soldering portion 132 and the first soldering portion 122 can be soldered to the circuit board (not shown), the second contact portion 133 is disposed on the second wall surface 1142, the second wall surface 1142 forms a plurality of second grooves 1145, and the second contact portion 133 is accommodated in the second groove 1145.
The first terminal 120, the second terminal 130 and the metal shielding element 140 may be formed by insert injection molding (insert molding) to combine the first fixing portion 121 with the bottom and the first sidewall 1112 of the insulation base 110, combine the second fixing portion 131 with the bottom and the second sidewall 1114 of the insulation base 110, and embed the metal shielding element 140 in the tongue portion 114.
The metal shield 140 is disposed on the tongue portion 114, and corresponds to the first contact region 121, and the first contact region 121 is a region where the first terminal 120 and the third terminal 220 transmit a high frequency signal, which may be a signal with a frequency above 30 GHz. The metal shielding element 140 is vertically embedded in the tongue portion 114 along the protruding extending direction of the tongue portion 114 and is higher than the first contact region 121, so that the shielding effect can be generated, in the embodiment, the metal shielding element 140 is flush with the top surface 1143 of the tongue portion 114. In the embodiment, the metal shielding member 140 may shield the first terminals 120 and the third terminals 220 to prevent the high frequency signals from interfering.
The second connector 200 includes an insulating housing 210, a plurality of third terminals 220 and a plurality of fourth terminals 230, the insulating housing 210 includes a second body 211, a third terminal seat 212 and a fourth terminal seat 213, the second body 211 has a second recess 2111, the third terminal seat 212 and the fourth terminal seat 213 are disposed opposite to each other, and the second recess 2111 is formed between the third terminal seat 212 and the fourth terminal seat 213, in this embodiment, the third terminal seat 212 and the fourth terminal seat 213 are two sidewalls of the second body 211.
The plurality of third terminals 220 are disposed on the third terminal base 212, each of the third terminals 220 includes a third fixing portion 221, a third soldering portion 222 and a third contact portion 223, the third fixing portion 221 connects the third soldering portion 222 and the third contact portion 223, the third fixing portion 221 is fixed on the third terminal base 212 and may be formed by insert molding as described above, the third soldering portion 222 protrudes from the insulating housing 210 and may be soldered to another circuit board (not shown), and the third contact portion 223 may contact the first contact portion 123 of the first terminal 120.
The plurality of fourth terminals 230 are disposed on the fourth terminal base 213, each of the fourth terminals 230 includes a fourth fixing portion 231, a fourth soldering portion 232 and a fourth contact portion 233, the fourth fixing portion 231 is connected to the fourth soldering portion 232 and the fourth contact portion 233, the fourth fixing portion 231 is fixed on the fourth terminal base 213 and can be formed by insert molding as described above, the fourth soldering portion 232 protrudes from the insulating housing 210 and can be soldered to the other circuit board (not shown), and the fourth contact portion 233 can contact the second contact portion 133 of the second terminal 120.
When the second connector 200 is plugged into the first connector 100, the tongue portion 14 is engaged with the second recess 2111, the plurality of third terminals 220 contact the plurality of first terminals 120, and the plurality of fourth terminals 230 contact the plurality of second terminals 130.
In the board connector of the present invention, the metal shield 140 is disposed on the tongue portion 114, so that when the first terminal 120 and the third terminal 230 transmit a high-frequency signal, the metal shield 140 can perform a shielding function, thereby preventing the high-frequency signal from interfering with other signals.

a plurality of first terminals disposed on the first terminal seat, wherein at least one of the first terminals has a first contact area contacting with a terminal of another board connector mated with the board connector;
a plurality of second terminals arranged on the second terminal seat and respectively opposite to the plurality of first terminals;
and the metal shielding piece is arranged on the tongue piece part and corresponds to the first contact area.
2. The board connector according to claim 1, wherein: the metal shielding piece is embedded in the tongue piece part and is positioned between the plurality of first terminals and the plurality of second terminals.
3. The board connector according to claim 2, wherein: the metal shielding piece is vertically embedded in the tongue piece part along the protruding extending direction of the tongue piece part and is higher than the first contact area.
