The invention discloses a method for detecting a safety valve hole of a middle cover of a storage battery.A rubber cap is arranged on a standard part of the safety valve hole, the surface of the rubber cap is coated with silicon oil, an air inlet of the standard part is connected with an air passage with a pneumatic adjusting device and a precise barometer, the pneumatic adjusting device is adjusted, the pressure of an opening and closing valve of the rubber cap is detected by observing the values of the barometer when the silicon oil on the surface of the rubber cap starts to generate bubbles and stops generating bubbles, and qualified rubber cap is selected; and then, mounting the qualified glue cap in a safety valve hole of a middle cover of the storage battery, connecting the gas circuit at the bottom of the hole, immersing the middle cover in water, and judging whether the pressure of an opening and closing valve of the safety valve hole of the middle cover of the storage battery is in a specified range by observing the values of a pressure gauge when bubbles start to generate and stop generating. The invention can further detect whether the safety valve hole of the middle cover of the storage battery is standard or not, can ensure that all the rubber caps used in the normal production of the storage battery are qualified products, and can ensure that the opening and closing valve pressure of the safety valve of the storage battery is in a specified range.
