Abstract

The invention provides a manufacturing method of a mobile terminal shell, which comprises the following steps: providing a metal shell, wherein the metal shell is provided with a mounting hole and a groove communicated with the mounting hole; installing a data line interface into the mounting hole and welding the data line interface to the metal shell through laser; injecting molten plastic into the groove in an injection molding mode; cooling the plastic to solidify the plastic into a plastic waterproof part, wherein the plastic waterproof part is positioned between the metal shell and the data line interface; machining the outer contour of the metal shell to enable the data line interface and the plastic waterproof piece to be flush with the surface of the metal shell; and processing an interface hole of the data line interface. The mobile terminal shell manufactured by the manufacturing method has a good waterproof effect.

Technical Field
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a mobile terminal housing, and more particularly, to a method for manufacturing a waterproof mobile terminal housing.
Background
When the electronic device is in a field or a humid environment, the internal components are easily affected with moisture, so that the performance of the components is disabled or the service life of the components is shortened. Therefore, users have made higher demands on the waterproof effect of electronic devices, especially mobile terminals such as mobile phones.
The data line interface is usually installed on the existing mobile terminal shell, and in order to achieve the waterproof effect, a sealing rubber ring is usually arranged at the joint of the data line interface and the mobile terminal shell, but the sealing rubber ring is easy to slide out, deform or damage in the positioning process, so that the waterproof effect is not ideal.
Disclosure of Invention
In view of the above, it is necessary to provide a method for manufacturing a mobile terminal housing with good waterproof effect to solve the above problems.
A method for manufacturing a mobile terminal housing, comprising the steps of: providing a metal shell, wherein the metal shell is provided with a mounting hole and a groove communicated with the mounting hole; installing a data line interface into the mounting hole and welding the data line interface to the metal shell through laser; injecting molten plastic into the groove in an injection molding mode; cooling the plastic to solidify the plastic into a plastic waterproof part, wherein the plastic waterproof part is positioned between the metal shell and the data line interface; machining the outer contour of the metal shell to enable the data line interface and the plastic waterproof piece to be flush with the surface of the metal shell; and processing an interface hole of the data line interface.
In the manufacturing method of the mobile terminal shell, the data line interface is fixed on the metal shell through the laser welding method, the bonding strength of the data line interface and the metal shell is improved, the plastic waterproof piece is formed through the injection molding method, the problems that the plastic waterproof piece is uneven in thickness and easy to fall off are solved, and therefore the manufactured mobile terminal shell is good in waterproof effect.

The metal shell 10 is provided with a mounting hole 11, and the mounting hole 11 is oval and is located in the middle of the metal shell 10. In the present embodiment, the mounting hole 11 may be a through hole penetrating the metal case 10. It will be appreciated that the mounting hole 11 may also be a blind hole.
The data line interface 20 is fixed in the mounting hole 11, an interface hole 21 is formed in the data line interface 20, the interface hole 21 is oval, and the interface hole 21 is slightly smaller than the mounting hole 11 of the metal shell 10.
The plastic waterproof member 30 is disposed between the data line interface 20 and the sidewall of the mounting hole 11 to prevent water vapor from entering the interior of the mobile terminal housing 100 through the data line interface 20.
Referring to fig. 1 to fig. 6, the method for manufacturing the mobile terminal housing 100 according to the present invention includes the following steps:
step S101, providing a metal housing 10, wherein the metal housing 10 is provided with a mounting hole 11 and a groove 12 communicated with the mounting hole 11.
As shown in fig. 2, the mounting hole 11 is located in the middle of the metal case 10, and the mounting hole 11 has a substantially oval shape. A ring of holding grooves 111 are arranged on the side wall of the mounting hole 11. The holding groove 111 is parallel to the surface of the metal housing 10 and is used for holding a flange (not shown) on the data line interface 20.
The groove 12 is located on one side of the mounting hole 11, the groove 12 is arc-shaped, the middle of the groove 12 is adjacent to the mounting hole 11, and two ends of the groove 12 are located on two sides of the mounting hole 11 respectively and extend towards the edge of the mobile terminal housing 100.
Step S102, the data line interface 20 is installed in the installation hole 11 and is welded to the metal shell 10 by laser.
Referring to fig. 3, one end of the data line interface 20 is installed in the installation hole 11, and the other end protrudes out of the surface of the metal shell 10 and covers a part of the groove 12. Then, a laser beam having a sufficient power density is irradiated to the junction of the data line interface 20 and the metal case 10 to rapidly raise the temperature of the junction to the melting point and melt into a liquid, and then cooled and solidified, so that the data line interface 20 is firmly welded to the metal case 10.
In this embodiment, the middle parts of the four sides of the data line interface 20 are respectively selected as the welding spots 22, so that the laser irradiates the four welding spots 22.
Step S103, injecting the molten plastic into the groove 12 by injection molding.
Referring to fig. 4, the metal housing 10 is placed in a cavity (not shown) of an injection mold, and molten plastic is injected into the groove 12 by injection molding, so that the groove 12 and a gap between the data line interface 20 and a sidewall of the mounting hole 11 are filled with the plastic.
Step S104, cooling the plastic to solidify the plastic into the plastic waterproof member 30.
Specifically, the temperature in the cavity of the injection mold is lowered to cool the plastic, which solidifies and becomes the plastic waterproof member 30 between the metal housing 10 and the data line interface 20. After cooling, the injection-molded metal case 10 is taken out of the injection mold.
Step S105 is to machine the outer contour of the metal case 10.
Referring to fig. 5, the outer contour of the metal housing 10 is machined to remove the portion of the data line interface 20 protruding from the surface of the metal housing 10, and to remove the groove 12 and the plastic in the groove 12. After machining, the data line interface 20 and the plastic waterproof member 30 are flush with the surface of the metal shell 10. The machining may be CNC machining.
Preferably, in this step, the surfaces of the metal housing 10, the data line interface 20 and the plastic waterproof member 30 may be further processed into a circular arc shape having a certain curvature.
In step S106, the interface hole 21 of the data line interface 20 is processed.
Referring to fig. 1 again, the data line interface 20 is machined to form an interface hole 21 at the top of the data line interface 20, where the interface hole 21 is oval and slightly smaller than the mounting hole 11. It is understood that in this step, the microphone hole 13 or the sound through hole (not shown) may be processed at the same time. Thus, the mobile terminal housing 100 is completed.
In the manufacturing method of the mobile terminal housing 100, the data line interface 20 is fixed on the metal shell 10 by a laser welding method, so that the bonding strength between the data line interface 20 and the metal shell 10 is improved. In addition, the gap between the metal shell 10 and the data line interface 20 is filled with plastic by an injection molding method, so that the plastic waterproof piece 30 is formed, and the problem of uneven thickness of the plastic waterproof piece 30 is avoided. The plastic waterproof part 30 can effectively prevent water vapor from entering the mobile terminal shell 100 through the data line interface 20, and the plastic waterproof part 30 is not easy to slide out of the groove 12, so that the waterproof effect of the mobile terminal shell 100 is better. Compared with the traditional method for assembling the sealing rubber ring, the manufacturing method effectively avoids the problems of sliding, deformation and damage of the sealing rubber ring which are easily caused.
In this embodiment, the groove 12 is arcuate, it being understood that in other embodiments, the groove 12 may have other shapes.
In addition, other modifications within the spirit of the invention may occur to those skilled in the art, and such modifications are, of course, included within the scope of the invention as claimed.

Claims (10)

1. A method for manufacturing a mobile terminal housing, comprising the steps of:
providing a metal shell, wherein the metal shell is provided with a mounting hole and a groove communicated with the mounting hole;
installing a data line interface into the mounting hole and welding the data line interface to the metal shell through laser;
injecting molten plastic into the groove in an injection molding mode;
cooling the plastic to solidify the plastic into a plastic waterproof part, wherein the plastic waterproof part is positioned between the metal shell and the data line interface;
machining the outer contour of the metal shell to enable the data line interface and the plastic waterproof piece to be flush with the surface of the metal shell;
and processing an interface hole of the data line interface.
2. The method of manufacturing a mobile terminal housing according to claim 1, wherein: in the mobile terminal shell, the plastic waterproof piece is arranged between the data line interface and the side wall of the mounting hole.
3. The method of manufacturing a mobile terminal housing according to claim 1, wherein: the groove is located on one side of the mounting hole and is arc-shaped.
