Background
Antenna Efficiency (Antenna Efficiency) is a very important design index for measuring communication quality of electronic devices, and the better the Antenna Efficiency, the better TRP (Total Radiated Power), but at the same time, SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) of electromagnetic waves is also higher, and even the SAR certification standard about SAR cannot be satisfied by FCC (Federal Communications Commission in the united states) & CE (compliance with European requirements). Generally, the SAR of high frequency band signals is higher than that of low and intermediate frequency band signals under the same antenna efficiency based on the high directivity characteristic of signal transmission of the antenna. Thus, it is very difficult for the antenna to satisfy the FCC & CE certification specifications while achieving good TRP while ensuring high frequency band antenna efficiency.
The existing antenna layout designs mainly have two types: firstly, a main antenna covers low, medium and high frequency bands simultaneously; two antennas are designed, which is equivalent to splitting the main antenna into two antennas, wherein one antenna covers the low-frequency and the intermediate-frequency bands, and the other antenna covers the high-frequency band. However, both of these antennas are fixed to the housing of the electronic device, resulting in a high SAR.
TABLE 1
Please refer to table 1 above, when the same high-frequency band antenna efficiency and the same TRP are satisfied, for example, LTE B7 TRP 19dBm, for the electronic device adopting the first design method and the second design method, at the same position, Risk for FCC 0mm body SAR (Risk assessment value of SAR at a distance of 0mm from the human body under FCC standard) is 4 to 4.4, and Risk for CE 5mm body SAR (Risk assessment value of SAR at a distance of 5mm from the human body under FCC standard) is 1.8 to 2.0, which are very close to FCC & CE certification specifications.

The main purposes of the invention are: one of the two antennas is designed to be arranged at an interval with the shell, the distance between the antenna and the human body is increased, and the design that the antenna transmits high-frequency band signals is equivalent to the design that the high-frequency antenna is far away from the human body, so that the high-frequency band antenna efficiency and TRP are ensured, SAR is reduced, and the SAR is convenient to conform to FCC & CE certification standards.
The antenna layout design is applicable to any electronic device with an antenna, such as a mobile terminal like a smart phone, a Personal Computer (PC), a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) or a tablet Computer, and a wearable device with a communication function worn on limbs or embedded in clothes, jewelry or accessories.
The following takes a smart phone as an example, and combines with the drawings in the following embodiments to clearly and completely describe the technical solutions of the various exemplary embodiments provided by the present invention. The embodiments described below and the technical features of the embodiments can be combined with each other without conflict. Furthermore, directional terms, such as "upper" and "lower", are used throughout the disclosure to better describe various embodiments, and are not used to limit the scope of the disclosure.
Fig. 1 is a schematic structural layout diagram of an antenna assembly according to a first embodiment of the present invention. As shown in fig. 1, the antenna assembly of the present embodiment may be disposed in a housing 121 of an electronic device, specifically, the housing 121 includes a rear cover 121a, a side wall 121b connected to the rear cover 121a, and a front cover 121c connected to the side wall 121b, the front cover 121c is disposed opposite to the rear cover 121a at an interval and is used for fixing a display panel 122 of the electronic device, the rear cover 121a, the side wall 121b, the front cover 121c, and the display panel 122 surround to form an accommodating space, and the antenna assembly is disposed in the accommodating space, and of course, other internal components of the electronic device, such as a battery 123 and a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) 124, are also accommodated in the accommodating space.
The antenna assembly includes a first antenna 111 and a second antenna 112, which are either overlapped or staggered. The first antenna 111 is fixed on the housing 121, and the second antenna 112 is disposed in the accommodating space of the housing 121 and spaced from the inner side of the housing 121. Specifically, the method comprises the following steps:
the first antenna 111 may include two integrally formed parts, one part being fixed to the inner side of the rear cover 121a and the other part being fixed to the inner side of the sidewall 121 b. The first antenna 111 may be embedded in the housing 121 or may be a part of the housing 121 in a splicing manner. The fixing method of the first antenna 111 and the housing 121 includes, but is not limited to, any one of a screw locking method and an adhering method.
The second antenna 112 can be fixed on an antenna bracket (not shown) in the accommodating space and connected with the inside of the housing 121The sides are arranged at intervals. By spacing arrangement is understood: taking the second antenna 112 including the first antenna sub-piece 112a and the second antenna sub-piece 112b as an example, the first antenna sub-piece 112a and the second antenna sub-piece 112b may be two parts of an integrally formed structure, the first antenna sub-piece 112a is disposed toward the rear cover 121a of the electronic device, the second antenna sub-piece 112b is disposed toward the sidewall 121b of the electronic device, and the first antenna sub-piece 112a and the rear cover 121a have a first distance d therebetween1The minimum distance between the second antenna sub-assembly 112b and the sidewall 121b is the second distance d2. Wherein the first distance d1> 0, and a second distance d2>0。
In the process of transmitting signals by the antenna assembly of the electronic device, for an application scenario in which the frequency band of the signals transmitted by the second antenna 112 is higher than the frequency band of the signals transmitted by the first antenna 111, for example, the signal frequency band covered by the second antenna 112 is 2300 to 2690MHz, the signal frequency bands covered by the second antenna 112 are 1710 to 2170MHz and 700 to 960MHz, at this time, the second antenna 112 may be regarded as a high-frequency antenna, and the first antenna 111 is a medium-low frequency antenna. Because the second antenna 112 and the housing 121 are arranged at an interval, the distance between the second antenna and the human body is increased, which is equivalent to that the high-frequency antenna is far away from the human body, thereby being beneficial to reducing SAR while ensuring the efficiency and TRP of the high-frequency band antenna, and being convenient for the SAR to accord with FCC & CE certification standards.
In practical application scenarios, the SAR measurement is performed at the same position as in table 1 above, for example, the SAR measurement is performed at a position from 5mm to 5mm from the back cover 121a to the side wall 121b, the Risk for FCC 0mm body SAR of the embodiment is 3.3 to 3.7, and the Risk for CE 5mm body SAR is 1.5 to 1.7, which is obviously lower than the SAR of the conventional antenna.
Fig. 2 is a schematic structural layout diagram of an antenna assembly of a second embodiment of the present invention. The antenna assembly of the present embodiment may be applied to an electronic device having the same structure as the above-mentioned antenna assembly, and the same structural elements of the electronic device are still denoted by the above-mentioned reference numerals. As shown in fig. 2, the antenna assembly includes a first antenna 211 and a second antenna 212, the first antenna 211 is fixed on the housing 121, the second antenna 212 is disposed in the accommodating space of the housing 121, and the second antenna 212 and the inner side of the housing 121 are disposed at an interval. Specifically, the method comprises the following steps:
the first antenna 211 may include two integrally formed parts, one part being fixed to the inner side of the rear cover 121a and the other part being fixed to the sidewall 121 b. The first antenna 211 may be embedded in the housing 121 or may be a part of the housing 121 in a splicing manner. The fixing manner of the first antenna 211 and the housing 121 includes, but is not limited to, any one of a screw locking manner and an adhering manner.
The second antenna 212 may be fixed on the PCB 124 in the accommodating space, for example, in the embodiment, the second antenna 212 may be fixed on the PCB 124 by using LDS (Laser Direct Structuring) and spaced apart from the inner side of the housing 121. By spacing arrangement is understood: taking the second antenna 212 as a plate structure as an example, the second antenna 212 is disposed toward the rear cover 121a of the electronic device, and a third distance d is formed between the second antenna 212 and the rear cover 121a3The minimum distance between the second antenna 212 and the sidewall 121b is a fourth distance d4. Wherein the third distance d3>0, and a fourth distance d4>0。
In the process of transmitting signals by the antenna assembly of the electronic device, for an application scenario in which the frequency band of the signals transmitted by the second antenna 212 is higher than the frequency band of the signals transmitted by the first antenna 211, for example, the frequency band of the signals covered by the second antenna 212 is 2300 to 2690MHz, the frequency bands of the signals covered by the second antenna 212 are 1710 to 2170MHz and 700 to 960MHz, at this time, the second antenna 212 may be regarded as a high-frequency antenna, and the first antenna 211 is a medium-low frequency antenna. Because the second antenna 212 and the housing 121 are arranged at intervals, the distance between the second antenna and the human body is increased, namely the high-frequency antenna is far away from the human body, so that the efficiency and TRP of the high-frequency band antenna are ensured, the SAR is reduced, and the SAR is convenient to conform to FCC & CE certification standards.
The present invention also provides an electronic device, which may include the antenna assembly of the above-described embodiment shown in fig. 1 or fig. 2, and therefore, the electronic device also has the above-described advantageous effects.
