背景技术
层压粘合剂已广泛用于柔性封装应用中,如用于食品、医药和消费者耐用行业。无溶剂聚氨基甲酸酯层压粘合剂在市场位置获得越来越多的重要性,这归因于达成较低能量占用和较高转化效率的技术的能力。当前技术发展水平层压机需要具有延长适用期的聚氨基甲酸酯,在处理温度下大于30分钟。较长适用期是粘合剂在所期望线速度下达成均匀涂布并且避免任何瑕疵和外观问题所需的。然而,延长的适用期减慢固化、粘合强度积累、NCO分解以及初级芳香族胺分解(PAA),因此延迟货物运送。
聚氨基甲酸酯粘合剂的反应性可通过多种不同方式调适,如改变异氰酸酯(芳香族或脂肪族)的官能度、类型、异氰酸酯和异氰酸酯反应性化合物的分子量和分子结构。还可使用催化剂调适反应性,如多个现有技术中所描述。设计适用期范围在若干分钟至长达数小时的聚氨基甲酸酯粘合剂是切实可行的。较短适用期产生较快固化、较快粘合发展、较快NCO分解、较快PAA分解、较高涂层重量以及较快成品货物运送,因此具有改进的转化效率。然而,由于现有商业层压机的局限性,具有例如短于30分钟的短适用期的聚氨基甲酸酯粘合剂在生产恒定高品质层制品时由于快速升高的粘度而通常经历困难。此可归因于粘合剂在商业层压机中的1号辊与2号辊之间的延长滞留时间,如图1所示,归因于过量粘合剂施加于两个辊之间。如果两个辊之间的粘合剂的量可减至最少以将粘合剂滞留时间减少,那么具有较短适用期的聚氨基甲酸酯粘合剂也可潜在地在层压应用中工作。当前材料递送设置不允许具有显著粘度差异、极端混合比的组分有效混合,以及在广泛流动速率范围内的精确流量控制。这些局限性阻碍混合机器与层压机同步并且使得难以调整混合单元的流动速率以匹配两个辊之间粘合剂的消耗速率。此外,短适用期具有材料随时间推移积累的风险,其可能需要频繁清洁辊,此导致产率损失。
因此,期望一种材料递送系统,其允许在广泛低速率范围内的精确控制、具有极端比率和显著粘度差异的组分的有效混合、粘合剂的最小滞留时间以及辊经由多个自动清洁系统的有效清洁。
发明内容
在本发明的一个实施例中,公开一种用于将材料分配于层压机两个辊之间的设备,其包含:a)至少两个反应物储存槽,每一反应物储存槽具有齿轮泵;b)混合器,其连接至齿轮泵;c)分配喷嘴,其连接至混合器;d)含量检测器,其安装在两个辊之间的轨上;以及e)至少一个溶剂储存容器,其连接至混合器。
在本发明的另一个实施例中,公开一种用于将材料分配于层压机两个辊之间的方法,其包含:a)从独立反应物储存槽释放至少两种反应物;b)使反应物与混合速度在1000rpm至8000rpm范围内的混合器接触,和;c)在混合器中混合反应物小于60秒以形成混合产物;d)将混合产物沉积于分配喷嘴中;e)从分配喷嘴将混合产物分配于两个辊之间;f)中断反应物释放;g)从第一溶剂储存容器释放第一溶剂;h)使第一溶剂与混合器接触
i)将第一溶剂沉积于分配喷嘴中;j)从分配喷嘴将第一溶剂分配于两个辊之间;k)中断第一溶剂释放;以及l)重复步骤a)至步骤e)。

具体实施方式
所述设备一般可与适用于层压粘合剂的层压机装置一起使用。在一个实施例中,所述设备与包含五个辊的层压机一起使用,如图1所示。辊1称为计量辊并且是静止的。辊2称为转移辊,靠近辊1并且旋转。辊3称为差速辊,靠近辊2,并且以与辊2相反的方向旋转。涂覆至层制品的粘合剂数量通过辊3测定。辊4称为涂覆辊,靠近辊3,并且以与辊3相反的方向旋转。辊5称为计量辊,靠近辊4,并且以与辊4相反的方向旋转。辊可由橡胶或钢制成。在一个实施例中,辊3和辊5由橡胶制成并且辊1、辊2以及辊4由钢制成。粘合剂通常递送至辊1与辊2之间的间隔,其可视需要调节。粘合剂涂覆于辊4与辊5之间的一或多个衬底。在各种实施例中,所述一或多个衬底可为聚合物膜、金属化聚合物膜或箔。更优选实施例是其中可固化粘合剂组合物用于将两个聚合物膜、聚合物膜与金属化聚合物膜或聚合物膜与箔粘合在一起。优选的聚合物膜含有有机聚合物。用于膜中的有机聚合物的实例包括(但不限于)聚酯、聚烯烃(包括烯烃与其它单体的共聚物)、聚酰胺以及其掺合物。更优选的有机聚合物为聚对苯二甲酸亚乙酯、聚乙烯、聚丙烯以及尼龙。
本发明的设备10以其最简单的形式包含反应物储存槽12和14;齿轮泵16和18,其能够分别控制反应物储存槽12和14中的流动速率;混合器24;溶剂储存容器28和30;分配喷嘴36,其将材料分配于层压机的辊1与辊2之间(辊3、辊4以及辊5在图2中未图示);以及含量检测器38。管道20、22、26、32以及34是可由钢制成的管,并且可任选地为柔性的。管在不同部分取决于需要也可为硬质的和柔性的。在一个实施例中,所分配材料是粘合剂。
设备包括多个反应物储存槽。一般而言,反应物储存槽可具有适用于工业应用的任何尺寸。槽可为可耐受至少1atm压力的材料。实例包括(但不限于)不锈钢和碳钢。在各种实施例中,反应物储存槽可配备有搅拌、氮气填充加热以及排气功能。
每一反应物储存槽配备有齿轮泵。齿轮泵可为任何允许精确控制流动速率的装置。在各种实施例中,齿轮泵是允许将流动速率精确控制在1lb/min至30lbs/min范围内的流动速率的装置。齿轮泵和与其连接的管经适当设定大小以达成精确流动速率控制。在各种实施例中,流动速率介于0.5lbs/min至50lbs/min之间,在各种其它实施例中,介于2lbs/min至35lbs/min之间,并且在各种其它实施例中介于2.5lbs/min至25lbs/min之间。
在各种实施例中,混合器是允许具有显著粘度差异的组分以极端混合比(如5:95的反应物1:反应物2至95:5的反应物1:反应物2)高速混合的动态混合器。混合器一般能够在100rpm至10,000rpm、在各种其它实施例中1000rpm至8000rpm并且在各种其它实施例中最优选4000rpm至6000rpm之间操作。另外,在各种实施例中,反应物在混合腔室中的滞留时间一般小于60秒、小于30秒并且在各种其它实施例中小于10秒。此外,混合单元被设计成以极端混合比率混合具有显著粘度差异的组分,其中反应物1的粘度与反应物2的粘度的比率在1:1至1:100范围内,并且两种组分之间的混合比为5:100至100:5。
在各种其它实施例中,混合器是如果反应物1和反应物2具有类似粘度并且混合比为约1:1,那么可使用的静态混合器。
混合产物沉积于分配喷嘴中。喷嘴的配置可为标准或专用的,旨在达成辊1与辊2之间的粘合剂的调平。为促进粘合剂的调平,喷嘴可安装在臂上,所述臂允许喷嘴沿辊的轴线方向来回行进,在各种实施例中至少每分钟4次、每分钟8次并且在各种其它实施例中每分钟10次至15次。
检测辊1与辊2之间混合产物的高和低含量的含量检测器以电子方式连接至反应物储存槽的齿轮泵,允许流动速率在低含量下升高以及流动速率在高含量下降低。
自动清洁系统包含至少一个溶剂储存容器,其经由管道(如管)连接至混合器。每一溶剂储存容器由不锈钢或碳钢制成,能够承受至少50psi、优选70至100psi的压力。清洁系统用于清洁混合器,并且在转向期间和/或当在辊上可见积累时清洁辊。常见清洁溶剂,如二元酯、Benzoflex、TXIB、聚醚多元醇或低分子醇是适合的。为避免这些溶剂污染层制品,期望在第二溶剂储存容器中具有第二溶剂,使用如MEK或乙酸乙酯的溶剂。第二溶剂储存容器也经由管连接至混合器。
设备可配备有各种线、计算机以及其它装置,以电子方式操作设备。
本发明方法的一个实施例使用上述设备10说明。反应物储存槽12和14分别含有反应物1和反应物2。齿轮泵16和18控制反应物的释放。当释放反应物1和反应物2时,其分别经由管道20和22移动至混合器24。其随后混合,并且后续混合产物经由管道26递送至喷嘴36,在所述喷嘴中所述混合产物分配于辊1与辊2之间。含量检测器38将反馈传送至每一齿轮泵。
当程序停止,并且层压机关闭时,进行清洁方法。齿轮泵关闭以阻挡反应物流动,并且停止层压机的辊。辊1和辊2随后脱啮并且将多余的混合产物排出至捕获盘中或人工挖出。辊1和辊2随后再啮合并且辊4和辊5脱啮。从溶剂储存容器28释放第一清洁溶剂并且层压机的辊1和辊2重新开启。第一清洁溶剂流过管道32至混合器24并且流过管道26至辊1和辊2。在已使用第一清洁溶剂持续所期望时间量之后,停止第一清洁溶剂的流动并且从溶剂储存容器30释放第二清洁溶剂。第二清洁溶剂流过管道34至混合器24并且流过管道26至辊1和辊2。一段时间后,停止从溶剂储存容器30流出溶剂。在另一实施例中,清洁装置可在辊4上方使用以便清洁辊4。在停止第二清洁溶剂的流动后,停止辊1和辊2,并且辊4和辊5再啮合。整个方法随后可再次开始。
所有以上步骤可编程并且以电子方式控制(即经由计算机)或任选地以人工方式进行,或两种方式组合。
各种粘合剂化学物质可与本发明的设备和方法一起使用。实例包括(但不限于)基于聚氨基甲酸酯的系统、基于环氧树脂的系统、基于丙烯酸酯的系统、基于迈克尔加成(Michael addition)化学反应的系统以及基于这些混合化学物质的系统。
基于聚氨基甲酸酯的系统中反应物1的实例包括(但不限于)芳香族多异氰酸酯,如亚甲基双(异氰酸对苯酯)(MDI)、二异氰酸甲苯酯(TDI)、二异氰酸3,3-二甲苯酯(TODI)、二异氰酸1,5-萘酯(NDI)以及二异氰酸对亚苯酯(PPDI);以及异氰酸酯中
的至少一种与至少一种异氰酸酯反应性化合物的反应产物,如聚氨基甲酸酯预聚物和聚脲预聚物。
在替代非限制性实施例中,多异氰酸酯还可为脂肪族或环脂肪族多异氰酸酯、其环状二聚体和环状三聚体以及其混合物。适合的脂肪族多异氰酸酯的非限制性实例可包括(但不限于)1,4-双(异氰酸酯基甲基)环己烷、1,3-双(异氰酸酯基甲基)环己烷、异佛尔酮二异氰酸酯(IPDI)、二异氰酸环己酯(CHDI)、亚甲基双(异氰酸对环己酯)(H12MDI)、1,3-双(1-异氰酸酯基-1-甲基乙基)-苯、1,6-己烷二异氰酸酯、脲二酮和由其获得的三聚体异氰脲酸酯,如可购自拜耳(Bayer)的Desmodur N 3300(二异氰酸六亚甲酯三聚体)、DesmodurN 3400(60%二异氰酸六亚甲酯二聚体和40%二异氰酸六亚甲酯三聚体)、其混合物,以及异氰酸酯中的至少一种与至少一种异氰酸酯反应性化合物的反应产物,如聚氨基甲酸酯预聚物和聚脲预聚物。
基于聚氨基甲酸酯的系统中反应物2的实例包括(但不限于)聚醚多元醇、聚酯多元醇、聚碳酸酯多元醇、聚丁二烯多元醇、多羟基官能性聚丙烯酸酯以及其共聚物和混合物,具有300至25,000的分子量和2至8的官能度,和分子量小于300并且官能度为2至8的短链二醇,如乙二醇二乙二醇、丙二醇、二丙二醇、三甲基丙烷、二乙二醇、三乙二醇、四乙二醇、三丙二醇、1,2-丁二醇、1,3-丁二醇和1,4-丁二醇、2,2,4-三甲基-1,3-戊二醇、2-甲基-1,3-戊二醇、1,3-戊二醇、2,4-戊二醇和1,5-戊二醇、2,5-己二醇和1,6-己二醇、2,4-庚二醇、2-乙基-1,3-己二醇、2,2-二甲基-1,3-丙二醇、1,8-辛二醇、1,9-壬二醇、1,10-癸二醇、1,4-环己二醇、1,4-环己烷二甲醇、1,2-双(羟乙基)-环己烷以及其异构体和混合物。
基于环氧树脂的系统中反应物1的实例包括(但不限于)脂肪族、环脂肪族或芳香族液态环氧树脂或其混合物,如双酚A或双酚F二缩水甘油醚、己烯二醇二缩水甘油醚、环脂肪族二缩水甘油醚、三甲基丙烷三缩水甘油醚、1,4丁二烯二缩水甘油醚、环己烷二甲醇二缩水甘油醚,还有高级脂肪族或芳香族环氧树脂以及其混合物。
基于环氧树脂的系统中反应物2的实例包括(但不限于)脂肪族胺、脂肪族胺加合物、ketmine、曼尼希碱(Mannich base)加合物、聚醚胺、芳基胺、聚酰胺、环脂肪族胺、酰胺基胺、羧酸官能性聚酯、酸酐、硫醇、环状脒、氰酸酯以及其混合物。基于迈克尔加成化学反应的系统中反应物1的实例包括(但不限于)含二α,β-不饱和羰基官能基、三α,β-不饱和羰基官能基和多α,β-不饱和羰基官能基的材料,含二α,β-不饱和羰基官能基、三α,β-不饱和羰基官能基和多α,β-不饱和羰基官能基的材料和其混合物与环氧树脂、多异氰酸酯、聚氨基甲酸酯预聚物、氨基甲酸酯丙烯酸酯、聚酯丙烯酸酯、聚酯-氨基甲酸酯丙烯酸酯、丙烯酸多元醇丙烯酸酯以及二官能、三官能和多官能丙烯酸酯的掺合物。
在一个实施例中,β-二羰基化合物选自由以下组成的组:β-酮酯、β-二酮、β-酮酰胺、β-酮酰苯胺以及其混合物。在另一实施例中,优选的β-二羰基化合物选自由以下组成的组:乙酰乙酸甲酯、乙酰乙酸乙酯、乙酰乙酸2-(甲氧基乙酯)、乙酰乙酸缩水甘油酯、乙酰乙酰苯胺(acetoacetanilide)、2,4-戊二酮以及其混合物。
在另一实施例中,优选的多官能丙烯酸酯选自由以下组成的组:三羟甲基丙烷三丙烯酸酯、二-三羟甲基丙烷三丙烯酸酯、二丙二醇二丙烯酸酯、己二醇二丙烯酸酯、季戊四醇三丙烯酸酯、季戊四醇四丙烯酸酯、异氰脲酸酯三丙烯酸酯、双酚A环氧树脂二丙烯酸酯、环氧酚醛聚丙烯酸酯、氨基甲酸酯二丙烯酸酯、聚酯聚丙烯酸酯、金属(甲基)丙烯酸酯以及其混合物。
基于迈克尔加成化学反应的系统中反应物2的实例包括(但不限于)二硫醇、三硫醇和多硫醇、二聚胺和/或三聚胺和其混合物、含二乙酰乙酰氧基、三乙酰乙酰氧基和多乙酰乙酰氧基的材料以及其混合物。
可使用的其它反应物包括碳酰胺封端的材料,以及二、三和多脂肪族或芳香族醛。
可与本发明的和方法一起使用的其它化学物质为固化化学物质,如多异氰酸酯与环氧树脂材料或丙烯酸酯固化的掺合物,和多元醇与胺或其它质子供体材料的掺合物。
用于清洁系统中的溶剂一般选自由以下组成的组:二元酯、多元醇、短链二醇(如乙二醇、二乙二醇、二丙二醇、二乙二醇二苯甲酸酯)、己醇的二酯、二对苯二甲酸酯、乙酸乙酯、乙酸丁酯、丙酮、甲基乙基酮、甲基丁基酮、二甲苯、甲苯以及其组合。
在各种实施例中,可用于清洁系统中的第一溶剂包括(但不限于)二元酯、多元醇、短链二醇(如乙二醇、二乙二醇、二丙二醇、二乙二醇二苯甲酸酯)、己醇的二酯、二对苯二甲酸酯以及其混合物。
在各种实施例中,清洁系统中的第二溶剂可选自由以下组成的组:乙酸乙酯、乙酸丁酯、丙酮、甲基乙基酮、甲基丁基酮、二甲苯、甲苯以及其组合。
Claims (11)
1.一种用于将材料分配于层压机两个辊之间的设备,包含:
a)至少两个反应物储存槽,每一反应物储存槽具有齿轮泵;
b)混合器,连接至所述齿轮泵;
c)分配喷嘴,连接至所述混合器;
d)含量检测器,安装在所述两个辊之间的轨上;以及
e)至少一个溶剂储存容器,连接至所述混合器。
2.根据权利要求1所述的设备,其中所述含量检测器以电子方式连接至所述反应物储存槽的所述齿轮泵。
3.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述混合器具有1000rpm至8000rpm范围内的混合速度。
4.一种用于将材料分配于层压机两个辊之间的方法,包含:
a)从独立反应物储存槽释放至少两种反应物
b)使所述反应物与混合速度在1000rpm至8000rpm范围内的混合器接触并且;
c)在所述混合器中混合所述反应物小于60秒以形成混合产物
d)将所述混合产物沉积于分配喷嘴中
e)从所述分配喷嘴将混合产物分配于所述两个辊之间;
f)中断所述反应物的所述释放;
g)从第一溶剂储存容器释放第一溶剂
h)使所述第一溶剂与所述混合器接触
)将所述第一溶剂沉积于所述分配喷嘴中;
j)从所述分配喷嘴将所述第一溶剂分配于所述两个辊之间;
k)中断所述第一溶剂的所述释放;并且
l)重复步骤a)至步骤e)。
5.根据权利要求4所述的方法,其中在步骤k)中中断所述第一溶剂的所述释放之后,用从第二溶剂储存容器释放,不同于所述第一溶剂的第二溶剂重复步骤g)至步骤k)。
6.根据权利要求4或5中任一项所述的方法,其中分配于所述两个辊之间的所述材料是选自以下的组的层压粘合剂:聚氨基甲酸酯粘合剂、环氧树脂粘合剂、丙烯酸酯粘合剂以及其混合粘合剂。
7.根据权利要求4至6中任一项所述的方法,其中所述至少两种反应物中的一种包含选自由以下组成的组的第一反应物:二异氰酸亚甲基二苯酯、二异氰酸甲苯酯、二异氰酸六亚甲酯、异佛尔酮二异氰酸酯、环脂肪族异氰酸酯、多异氰酸酯、脂肪族聚氨基甲酸酯预聚物、芳香族聚氨基甲酸酯预聚物以及其混合物。
8.根据权利要求4至7中任一项所述的方法,其中所述至少两种反应物中的一种包含选自由以下组成的组的第二反应物:聚醚多元醇、聚酯多元醇、聚碳酸酯多元醇、聚丁二烯多元醇以及其共聚物和混合物、乙二醇、二乙二醇、丙二醇、二丙二醇、新戊二醇、1,4丁二醇、1,6己二醇、三甲基丙烷以及其混合物。
9.根据权利要求4至8中任一项所述的方法,其中所述第一和/或第二溶剂选自由以下组成的组:二元酯、多元醇、乙二醇、二乙二醇、二丙二醇、二乙二醇、二苯甲酸酯、己醇的二酯、二对苯二甲酸酯、乙酸乙酯、乙酸丁酯、丙酮、甲基乙基酮、甲基丁基酮、二甲苯、甲苯和其混合物以及其混合物。
10.一种通过层压机制备的层压粘合剂,通过根据权利要求1所述的设备将材料递送至所述层压机。
11.一种层压机设备,包含多个辊并且进一步包含根据权利要求1所述的设备。
